Wednesday December 7

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday December 7

Morning All, rain and more rain. Just stopping in to get the day started. I decided I would make a decoration for the bistro table on the balcony. It won’t be seen from the road but it’s for me. There is a solar lantern on a bed of greens. Since there won’t be any sun for a couple of weeks that is a flop. Lol. Just had a thought I have a little string of white lights to decorate the lantern. Barbie, just hang on. There was an old song “Into Each life some rain must fall” and the saying “ this too shall pass”. Just get sleep, eat and wait for the difficult times to pass. My little lit rv was a Christmas gift from my son-in-law years ago. Might leave it out all year. Beef stew in the crockpot for dinner. Be safe

Good morning Shirl. Not much going on here this morning but the sun is out so thought I would wash a couple more windows. MakingAir fryer BBQ chicken for dinner and have some ribs in the crockpot for tomorrow.
I can't believe it is Wednesday already. Christmas will be here before we know it but then it will be over....whew I had a craving for an apple pie and I just happen to have one in the freezer LOL I think I will throw it in the oven late to have with my afternoon coffee.

I am loving this weather, it was 85. It set a record high in Lafayette. Wish the wind would slack off so I can burn some boxes. I'm glad my appointment for the oil change wasn't until 11:00 because it was so foggy this morning I couldn't see the barn when I got up.

I went fishing for a little while this afternoon. Only caught one small perch and a good size bass. One of these days I'm going to order a fish cleaning table. I have to go through 4 gates to get to the pond so it's a PIA. The cows think I'm going to feed so I have to run them off to get through a gate.

I don't know what I'll do tomorrow. I don't get much done. Maybe I can wash the motorhome. I washed it a little before I went camping but it needs a good wash. I keep trying different soaps but can't find one that does a very good job.

Where I am, Willow Beach Marina and Campground, is 36 miles and a one-hour drive to a major grocery store--Walmart in my case today. I needed some batteries for my tire minder and some other things for Christmas, plus I had not gotten things like milk and butter for about 10 days, so I drove out and picked up some stuff. Could not believe how crowded Walmart was, but I got all my stuff for baking and decorating cookies--sprinkles and such, for example. Also picked up a handful of stocking stuffers and things for the hostess gifts i have put together because I will be going to my DILs mother's house and her father's house for Christmas eve and Christmas Day. Will camp nearby.

This is the first morning in three days that I did not get woken up very early by medical people from Atlanta who did not realize I was in the Pacific time zone!! Nice to sleep in without interrupted sleep, but did not sleep in much because I wanted to get an early start, plus I got three calls while I was in Las Vegas doing my shopping. Aunt is eating a bit more, which is good.

Tomorrow I have two loads of laundry to do, so will be working on that. Seems like two loads of laundry, as well as grocery shopping, takes a full day these days. Or maybe I just take longer to do things!!

Been going back over stuff I found on Ancestry to make sure my "finds" were correct. Did fix a few things that were wrong. I have learned NOT to copy stuff from other people's trees because a lot of it is wrong. I make sure I have documentary backup for every fact, and even backup from two sources, if possible. I have gone as far as the 1500s with a few people, but WWII caused records to be destroyed when the churches were destroyed, so hit dead ends with those folks. I even sent an email and ended up getting a response from a vicar in northern Ireland who told me that even the cemetery to one church was destroyed with records and the church itself! And I got my DNA and am beginning to think that with my mother's father's family in Canada, my Scottish GGrandfather might not be related to anybody older because there are no relative matches out of several hundred for other parts of the family. Very strange, and yes, I know he had to be related to someone, but there is just a dead end. Did verify that my "educated" guesses about the Danby Yorkshire folks were absolutely correct, however. Found genetic matches going back to 3rd and 4th gggrandparents, so happy with that.

Amazing that some of you are dealing with hot weather and others with SNOW!!!

I was shocked that the new stylist actually showed up for work today! It was slow in the morning but got crazy busy in the afternoon with a 2 hour wait at one point. I still have to do all the women's haircuts since she won't even try to do them, even the really short cuts. We finally got thru that rush and then it was dead the last couple hours which was nice to be able to sit and relax.

Just taking it easy tonight. Tomorrow I need to see if I can get the battery on my bike working.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I only had an hours drive to where I'm staying today/tonight. It's a free county boondocking CG I've stayed at a few times previously. I don't know why but I always meet the nicest people here, and for some reason today 3 solo women made sure to say hi. One was hoping I'd be staying longer than just the 1 night. Tomorrow I get to my winter home for the next 4 months. I've been eating from the freezer food I moved to the fridge to make freezer room and the fruits in the fridge so it's getting space. The freezer, right now, is still chock full.

Good news that the new stylist showed up today Barbie. And Judy, when the stores are full it seems to take that much longer to accomplish anything. I'll have two loads of laundry tomorrow (or the following day) after I get settled.

Martha, I've been so used to the dry climate my body isn't sure what to do with the humidity I'm seeing now. I hope I have my small dehumidifier in a storage compartment because that'll help. But I remember last year I didn't need it often. I'm hoping that'll be the case this year, too.

it does take longer to do things I think... but then I know that I'm just slow anyway... and not overly motivated if I get something done in a day great if not well that is ok as well..
I need to go to the store tomorrow need to get milk just in case the weather turns bad... according to the phone weather there is a good chance of snow on Friday don't know about Saturday yet...so trying to avoid walking or driving in the snow... and my boots aren't here yet... suppose to be delivered tomorrow hopefully.. I do need to get a battery for the key the last few times I've tried to unlock the car I've had to use the key... and it sets off the panic button till I get the key in the ignition :o
I was looking at some of my husbands lines and one of them on his mom's paternal side must have hit a royal line as it went forever!!!! kinda impressive when you see it going on and on and on...
I have a perplexing problem when it comes to family history again on Larry's side ... just need to figure out how to find the information it's got to be there somewhere... it doesn't help that the census taker not only didn't do a good job spelling but lousy handwriting as well
well you all have a great day
