Rabbits It's December

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rabbits It's December

Postby Bethers » Thu Dec 01, 2022 2:06 am

I just said rabbits and can now go to bed lol. Hopefully lots come on today for the roll call.

I had planned to get on the road today, but now think tomorrow. I had changed it to Saturday, but everywhere looks like it'll be raining on my route Saturday so I think I'll drive a couple hours tomorrow to cut down the amount of time in the rain Saturday. It's nice not having to be anywhere most days lol. I have one reservation at a Harvest Host Saturday night and simply have to call or text the manager at the park in Texas the day before I'll arrive there. I love being back pretty much without plans.

Good morning Beth and all that check in!

Beth, it's got to be a great feeling to not have a schedule and can come and go at your leisure. Enjoy the next phase of your life.

I said Rabbits at 3:00 this morning. I've been awake since 1:00 so came out to the casita 3:30 and have been puttering around here since then. My friend will be here in about 30 minutes for our morning walk. Enjoy the first day of December!

Mornin' Beth, Irmi and all that follow~~~

Not a whole lot new with me. Took the camper back for an install of a battery lock I ordered. The Airstream batteries are in a box, so what I had on the old camper wouldn't work. And they've ordered a replacement rock guard window, not the actual window. While talking to the service rep, I noticed the metal trim around it was warped.

But I'm loving the new camper except for the bath. There's a built in seat in the shower which makes it a bit tight and the toilet sink area is smaller too. Definately missing the bigger basement storage. When I hitched yesterday, the 50 amp ended up in the Ford's back seat. So I have some truck cleaning or to do. I doubt any one who has owned a toy hauler would own an this camper. At least I don't live in the bathroom or storage of it.

Have a good day ladies.

Morning Beth, and All, it’s 37°and sunny. I usually say rabbits after midnight and keep my lucky bamboo plant watered but I’m not superstitious. I’m not really. I have several errands on my to do list so will get on with it. Be safe.

No rabbits here, but good morning

So many things on my mind lately and still working! I'm so ready for a redo on retirement as my shoulder just can't take the abuse anymore and I do not want surgery. I refuse surgery.

Patrick a year old now and still so funny. He is into a stage recently that has him getting into stuff he never payed attention to over the past year. Lol left the file cabinet drawer open and he started pulling stuff out. Little stinker. He also discovered he could stand on his hind feet and teach the bottom of the mirror on the bathroom door. I don't know what he thinks about his reflection bit he still isn't barking much at all. He barks a little when he drops his toy down the step and wants ME to go get it.

Time to get to work, have kids to pick up.

Good morning. I am up early for some unknown reason. Woke up and thought it was later than it was but nope 4:15. But felt rested so up I got. I did remember to say RABBITS as Emma was sound asleep so before I spoke to her I got to gather my thoughts ha ha Took her out and it is raining ....again or still not sure which. BUT we need it so I keep telling myself.

Safe travels Beth when you hit the road. I always loved having no plans or jello plans. How did the Motel owners take your news not to go back??? Barbie lets hope this fixes your car. Alice good to see you posting, I cant believe Patrick is a year old. Funny what they learn along the way. Cheryl glad you are getting settled in your trailer, I know the outside storage can be an issue but you will find a work around. I love the floorplan you have.

Time for another cuppa java.

Good morning everyone. Those of you who have posted so far seem to have awakened really early this morning. I’ve been finding myself wide awake at 3 and 4 AM, but this morning I slept in till after seven. That doesn’t mean that I didn’t have a couple of wake up calls during the night because somebody wanted out.

Our cold blustery and snowy weather from yesterday is gone, but it has like a winter wonderland in it’s wake. There is at least 5 inches of beautiful white snow out there which is going to put everybody in the Christmas spirit for sure. Today is the first day at meteorological winter and it definitely has arrived. Mother nature doesn’t go by the calendar. So in a little while I will get myself dressed and get out there and bought the driveway and get things cleaned up.

Velda, sorry to hear about your Mandy. 17 years is a long time, but you have 17 years of memories to cherish. They say when we lose a beloved pet, they leave a paw print on our heart. Beth, safe travels to Texas. Irmi, I see a nap in your future.

I guess I should get myself moving here, get out there and tackle the snow and then get into my days activities. Want to get some stuff ready to take to donation tomorrow as I have to take the dogs out to the groomer. Also I have a piece of plywood on my table to trace the pattern out to start a couple of wood crafts again.

Good morning Everybody. I’m checking in from Kino Bay. On Saturday I drove to Phoenix with 3 other women from the park. The sister of one was returning home to Canada and had an eleven pm flight out of Phoenix on Air Canada. We had plenty of time but every little delay caused concern. Spent three nights in hotels on the return trip to Kino Bay. Somewhere along the way I picked up a “bug” and my sinuses won’t stop draining. First “cold” I have had since I retired 10 years ago.

Alice, I thought of you as we drove by the casino in Phoenix where Donna and I met you. So long ago.
Enjoy today. Peggy

Good Morning, The sun seems extra bright this morning and I can see my windows are in desperate need of cleaning outside. Part of them have the heavy storm windows that you have to remove so if I can find someone to do them it will definitely be expensive. I did remember to say rabbits around 3AM but hasn't helped. I just discovered some naughty little dog ate the pull to the zipper on my new, very expensive duvet cover. It is a European size and the only choices for covers I found were more than I expected. She also took offense that Emma was going to have first turn on the grooming table this morning and she actually jumped on her. Thankfully as usual Emma totally ignored her but it certainly gave me a scare. It is funny how Emma totally ignores Pip, she will turn her head away if she gets close. But, if Toby growls or acts like he is going to bother Pippa she really barks at him to get our attention.
Peggy I hope you feel better soon and it is just a cold. Irmi I hope you sleep better tonight. Velda I'm so sorry about Mandy.((hugs))) Safe travels to all on the road. Ava we need new pictures of Patrick. I hope you can find relief for your shoulder.

Good to hear from so many this Dec 1st. I have been doing absolutely nothing the past several days. The weatherman has promised rain a couple of times, but, so far, nothing.
I had two very sweet delicious strawberries on my strawberry plants yesterday. I frequent the websites of dog shelters, but haven’t seen any that grab my heart.
My son with colon cancer has been getting not good results from his chemo lately. It’s a worry.

Not much going on here, as usual. I’m recovering from my fall with the dogs a week and a half ago, The stitches came out on Tuesday and the bruise on my face is fading. The one on my upper left leg is still huge. I do think my back, chest and perhaps lungs were bruised as I have pain when I cough or have to blow my nose. Sure hope that improves soon.

So very sorry to hear about Eileen. At least she’s at peace now.

I hope all are well. I put some lights along my front deck. I love it when others decorate too and the neighborhood looks festive. However, my neighborhood is no competition for Anita’s in Leavenworth. Take care everyone.

Good afternoon all. I remembered rabbits last night a bit after midnight so hope it helps!! I think winter is upon us if the temps are any indication the last couple of days. Plus yesterday the wind was really gusty and last night was even worst. I had to watch for the garbage truck this morning so as soon as they came I ran out to get my can so I wouldn’t be chasing it down the street or grabbing it out of the street.
Velda, so sorry for the loss of your kitty. They give us so much and are so missed. Sandi, hope you’re doing better after your fall. Peggy, feel better. Sue, your woodcrafts are so cute. Glad we haven’t gotten the snow you had…at least not yet! I know it’ll be coming but I can wait! Need to adjust to the cold first! But shovels are out and snowblower ready to go, just in case! No decorations for me again this year. I guess I got burned out over the years to being the one to have to contend with it all. And never anyone to help take them down so just don’t want to deal with it all anymore. And I usually go to the kids rather then them coming here so there’s that part of it now too. I can enjoy their decorations. Other then that things are fairly calm here and hope I can move into 2023 without any major problems! 2022 has been eventful to say the least! Beth, good to hear you’re enjoying what you’re doing now. Lyn, I’ve been checking out shelters too but so far I haven’t seen anything to jump out to me. No rush with winter coming on. Guess I should get busy and accomplish something around here today! Easy to just say I can do it later! Hope everyone has a great day and good month.

Checking in because I know my FAcebook posts don't count on here. I am doing pretty well. Dermatologist only had two tiny places that needed to be frozen. SO much easier than surgeries. So I have another 6 months to watch my Irish freckles. I continue to head off to my nearby Y about three times a week. Lark doesn't get the exercise that she likes best but this I can manage. Between Gentle Yoga and water exercises I do feel stronger and my back and joints do not complain. Jane was successful in her wild and romantic ride out to Maryland last month. She is expecting a litter of puppies but we won't be able to count them until we can do an extra on December 16. It take a while for the bones to calcify enough to show up. Her due date give or take a day or two is currently CHristmas Eve. I have a good friend and experienced breeder who volunteered to be Jane's birthing Doula. She has given her experience and moral support for my past two litters, it is just that I haven't had a litter in over 13 years.

I haven't put up any holiday decorations Christmas or otherwise and I am continuing that tradition. Occasionally I will pull a Christmas dog festive costume from back in the days when Herschel and Remi used to visit the nursing home but they are not like Karen West's dogs. They never really were the greatest fan but would tolerate it to get the attention of those they visited.

I continue staying active around running errands and avoiding projects, cooking and housekeeping. I am doing my best to eat healthy and continue to drop the occasional pound. Still find plenty of time for reading, enjoying some movies on the streaming service/s and grooming dogs.

Hopefully, next month I have good news to report. Stay healthy (no more falling down) and enjoy those moments that you can. We are guaranteed nothing.

I am worn out tonight. And I hate these rushed days because they are so short and I do not like to drive at night!!! Got up and was on my way to Las Vegas by 9:15 am to pick up my bike and run errands. Picked up a dozen Einstein cranberry bagels I had ordered, and then found a postbox to mail two checks. Unfortunately, or fortunately, the postbox was right next to Hobby Lobby. I don't usually go in there, but everything was 60% off. I picked up some cute Christmas dish towels that had a wooden spoon on them--cost was only $4.20 each, and then added some matching coasters and a package of Christmas bags. These will be hostess gifts for my DIL's mother and stepmother, since I will be going to the family celebrations with them. Also, will give one set to my DIL. Then I got a long fake pine and red berry swag to put on my dashboard for a decoration.

Next stop was the wetland and enjoyed a longer walk this time. Finally, tried to get some propane, but first gas station young guy could not find the right connection to fill my tank. Second and third gas stations advertised propane fills but had no one there to do the filling. It took a fourth station that actually was able to fill my tanks!! Yea, and gas prices are finally going down a bit in this area. Plus there was a high wind warning for the bridge that goes over the Colorado River near Hoover Dam--very scary, but I made it back to campground. Dark by then and had trouble backing in.

But at least, I am now settled in for the night with my little electric heaters running and am warm and relaxed. I will be MICH happier when days start getting longer.
