Sunny Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Monday

It is a beautiful day here along the Black Canyon of the Colorado River. A couple of degrees warmer than Las Vegas and 100 times as gorgeous!! Love this campground--full hookups and a laundry, lots of bunnies and hummingbirds, lots of gorgeous views, all paved and landscaped sites, terrific views, and incredibly quiet!!

No cell service, but they do provide free internet. I paid for better internet so I could hookup my phone to data and use it to make calls because my aunt is still in the hospital, and I need to stay in touch. Only problem was that most people around her think I am nearby so I got a call at 2 am and another at 5 am!! Went back to bed both times, however.

Hope you are all having as nice a weather as I am!

Been busy in the kitchen this morning, made 2 quiches. Will take one over to my neighbor, her daughter said it was delicious last time but she only got a bite LOL I only took half a one over so this time will take a whole one.

Rainy damp day here at 46 degrees brrrr with the breeze blowing it feels super cold. Judy I am envious of your nice weather BUT we do need the rain so I am not whining too much.
A few housekeeping chores to do soon, then will have some lunch and be done for the day.
Will make a Mocha this afternoon and watch one of the movies I recorded.

Hi ladies!

Judy, I'm so glad you found your keys. The next time you hide things, maybe write a list of the hidden places and keep them somewhere you go everyday. Sandi, I'm so sorry to hear about your fall and hope you recover quickly. Evie, your fall sounded miserable as well. Beth, Sheila asked what you were going to do this coming summer, and unless I missed your post, I never saw a reply. But I don't blame you for not wanting to go back to the hotel. Whatever you were paid wasn't worth what you had to go through. Anita, I have loved the pictures of Leavenworth. Barbie, you must be excited about giving notice to Great Clips. Shirl, I'm sorry the bird poop lands on your patio. BJ, your weather just sort of beep bops around. Sue, I love your art work.

We are in the low 80's and Steve is going to bake a pizza on his Big Green Egg. Tomorrow, the friends we traveled around the country with will be coming for a meal. That will be steaks, scalloped potatoes and Ford Hook Lima's. Bacon crackers will be the appetizers. I have no idea about dessert, but Schwan's is driving through here so will see what he has.

Good afternoon!

My 'get up and go' forgot to show up so far today! I had a nap before 1:30! Woke up this morning to more snow coming down and it was beautiful. They are predicting possible 6 to 10 inches tomorrow night and Wednesday. Good that Deicer arrived today and snow brush for car will come tomorrow or Wednesday.

Sheila, the Reindeer Farm is open all year. We plan to go back when the babies are born beginning in May. Finishing up Thanksgiving leftovers so no food prep here.

I appreciate all the best wishes after my fall with the pups last week. I’m still not feeling very well. I was going to describe everything and decided it sounded awful so chose to spare you. The stitches are supposed to come out tomorrow but I think they may leave the ones in my hand for a few more days. The whole left side of my face is yellow and reddish-grey bruise.

Judy, good news you found your keys. Your aunt is so luckily to have you watching out for her. Barbie, I hope you get some good offers soon. Sue, love your Christmas decorations. Shirl, I think your association should stipulate that bird feeders, while approved, cannot drop seeds, bird droppings, etc. on units below. It seems your above neighbor could move their feeder to an area on their deck where it wouldn’t drop a mess on your deck.

It was a beautiful sunny day and got up to 86. I should have worked in the yard but had a slight headache all morning. I finally took a nap after lunch and it went away. We are suppose to have more storms tomorrow and I have a dental appointment in the morning. Hope the rain holds off until I get back.

Karen, I should try making a quiche. I usually order one anytime I'm in a restaurant that offers that. Not many do. I had picked up a small one at a bakery in Lafayette. They only have them for breakfast and I seldom make it to Lafayette that early.

Sandi, I'm so sorry about your fall. Falling has become one of my greatest fears. I'm glad you weren't hurt worse but sorry it happened at all.

Irmi, I'm not sure at all what I'll be doing next summer. Right now I think I'll come back here (to the Casita for a couple/few months in the spring early summer then maybe go up the west coast. The doctor would like to see me again in 6 months, then the fall again. Then, hopefully the following summer will be east. No guarantees but I'd like to go to to Maine then slowly south and visit with all of you in Florida if possible. It's been way too long since I've been east. But nothing is planned, just on my to do list lol.

Speaking of to do lists, I'm ahead on some things here and behind on others. I have to be in New Mexico Thursday, so I obviously have to get things done in the next two days. A few days ago I ordered a small fireplace for my Casita as a Christmas present to myself. It was due tomorrow but came today. I got it set up and did the two hour run as the directions said and I like it.

When I'm back in the spring I'll see about rearranging the room to accommodate it.

Good evening gals!

Wow! The wind is really howling out there tonight!

Had a very crazy day today :o ! Went out to my car this morning to go to work and it wouldn't start! As usual, it turned over but wouldn't start, so I tried again, which normally, it starts right off the second try. This time all it did was start clicking. So I tried calling my new manager but his phone number didn't work. Then called my old manager and she gave me another number for him and also the number for the new gal who started the other day and who I was supposed to open with today. I tried calling her to let her know I was gonna be late (she doesn't have a key to the shop). Her voicemail was full so no luck there  . Called the new manager with the new number and got ahold of him. He very reluctantly said he would go in but would take a bit to get ready and get there. Then I tried to find a ride to work. Knocked on a few neighbors doors and called a few people. Finally got a neighbor to answer her door (in her bathrobe). She agreed to take me to work. Those Canadians are so nice and helpful! :D

So I got to work at 9:20 and the new gal wasn't there so not sure if she was there and left, or just never showed up. I got the shop opened up and started getting customers right away. About an hour later, my manager shows up not looking happy at all. After a few phone calls by him, a stylist from another shop was sent over. I have worked with her and she is very good and we get along really well. When she got there, my manager left. We were swamped all day with customers. I was really busy because a lot of them were my clients and waited for me. I didn't stop cutting until 3pm when I finally took my lunch break. :o Was busy the rest of the day too. I ended up doing 19 haircuts! . My back and feet were so sore by the end of the day! At lunch I called my next door neighbor lady and she said she would come and pick me up from work.

Now I am exhausted and have a heating pad under my back. Romeow is sleeping next to me and I am ready to join him! Have putters golf in the morning. Hopefully, the wind will die down by then. After that, I need to get my car jump started (if that works). I had two of my customers say they think the problem is my battery, so I think I will get that replaced first before taking it into the Jeep repair place and see if that takes care of the problem. I just got a new battery 2 years ago but was told that batteries only last about 2 years out here because of the heat. Would be nice if that is all that is wrong!

So now I am off to lala land! Good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I mentioned to my dd today about the lights in Levenworth suggesting a day trip for them it's actually less than 4 hours... she is looking at t he calendar but now I will tell her the reindeer farm is year round and there will be babies in the spring... granddaughter LOVES the baby goats so bet she will the reindeer ...
I agree with Sandi that even though it's allowed that one should be responsible and put the feeder's where less stuff gets on the lower balconies ... many of you know that I love feeding the birds and been on of the things I truly miss... but I also know the mess it will make in mom's yard and then trying to get to the feeders would be difficult and then there are the deer would they get more of the feed than the birds??? so haven't feed them other than a Niger seed sack during the summer something ate it but didn't see what..
I hope that if I lived above that I would be a better neighbor... although it is hard to predict where the birds will relieve themselves and drop off shell casings.. but I am sure if they positioned the holder better less would be on the balcony... Hoping you feel better soon Sandi it really jars the body when a person biffs it...
actually did something today got the floors vacuumed a bit on Swedish Weave mom bathed scriptures read and a couple chapters of a book read.. and clothes taken care off.. so I don't need to go down stairs my niece picks up our laundry and washes and drys it then returns it the next day I then put them away... I so appreciate her doing it... they just brought it over earlier than I expected so it actually got put away quicker...
you all have a great day
