FINAL Update About Forum Sistah Eileen (beazle)

Postby IrishIroamed » Tue Nov 22, 2022 7:50 pm

I just got the below update from David's cousin that is here in the park:

Paula Emmons just texted me that Eileen will go home via ambulance on Monday. Her foster sister will stay there a few days.
I know going home was a goal of Eileen's. So happy she is able to do it.

That is excellent news. Let her be home when the time comes.

Home, where You have your own things and friends amd family can come and go, is often a very good thing. My prayer is that she gets what is best for her and makes her most comfortable.

Cheryl, thank you for posting this. I was wondering why I have not heard back from Eileen after I had sent her a text a few weeks ago. I knew that her cancer had returned and I was beginning to fear worst although she has “Liked” some if my FB photos in recent weeks. . My heart is crying too.We did have some good times. Like Tina, I remember when she came to get together at Shipshewana and the one at Thompson causeway. We had a nice camping trip into Michigan’s UP too and I still think of that. I’m glad to hear that she is going to be home as it is the best place to be. Please keep us informed. I’m sorry that the plans that you had made for this winter will that won’t work out but I guess God has other plans for her. . If you happen to talk to or text David please tell him that I am thinking of both of them and keeping them in my prayers

Sad news this morning. David posted on FB:

"Eileen Weller died this morning sometime before 6 AM. A memorial service will take place sometime after Christmas."

She went home on Monday. I'm will miss her dearly, but thankful she was home in familiar surroundings.

Sad news but good to know that she is at peace. It is for the ones left behind that we hope positive energy of the greater good can help hold their shattered hearts whole and gentle lead them to find grace and peace, too.

When I read this news yesterday I got so teary-eyed I couldn’t post. Last night I thought back about the few short years that I have known Eileen. She was indeed Cheryl’s best camping bad, but she was also A good friend to me. We didn’t see each other often but we did keep in touch and I always enjoyed getting a text from her or had a chat on Messenger about her latest adventures or her latest sewing project, as she did love to sew, and she did some beautiful creations, especially for the family at Christmas. They will be lasting memories for them. Thought back to when we first met at Shipshewana and the GTG at Thompson Causeway. I visited with them when they camped here at Otsego Lake State Park and also at Thunder Bay resort about 50. Miles from here. She and David and I chased waterfalls in the UP we also had a couple of camping trips at Indian Lake State Park. Big Rosemary will remember that one because she stopped there on her way back home to Wisconsin while she was in the UP. And then later on they had to abort a camping trip near Marquette because it was the beginning of what turned out to be the cancer. We kept in touch throughout her treatments and the happiness in her going into remission. She really looking forward to the summer and having some camping trips and things. I am so glad that she and Bearup made that last trip to the Door Peninsula to see the beautiful fall colors. She was one of those people who was so full of life and enjoying anything and everything.

Thank you for your friendship Eileen. You will be dearly missed.
