Sunny Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunny Sunday

Good morning gals!

Am just relaxing in bed this morning. Have a haircut to do in a couple hours, and then on to my list of small projects that still need to be done around here. Got my laundry done the other day but needs to be put away yet.

My house is officially on the market so hopefully, the right buyer will come by soon! I know the market here is slow right now but it only takes one to be looking and interested!

Good luck with your sale, Barbie! :D :-)

I hope your sale comes quickly. I think you are very wise to list your home when the weather is not so hot.

Is your home in Indio, or in an outlying area?

Taking a lunch break here. I am getting ready to head outside and clean up the white stuff. We got about 8 inches of snow since yesterday afternoon. I think the sun is going to be coming out before too long. It’s pretty breezy out there because the snow is coming down off the trees like crazy. But it is calming down. I don’t think we will see the roadplow through here until tomorrow though, as they are still working on the primary roads . But you never know. Doesn’t matter because we can get out.

So I have spent part of the morning paintingon my little woodcraft projects. I finished painting one of the ornaments and just need to do a few little touch up spots and that one is done. The other one is 3/4 finished and then the third one I will be starting later on here. It’s fun sitting there working on that while I’m humming Christmas carols in my head :) And no Karen, it’s not work it’s pleasure  The dogs had me up and down like a yo-yo yesterday wanting in and out. They just love being out in the snow. They lay out there until they have had enough and then they want in.

Beth, have you ever thought about maybe camp hosting? You don’t get paid for it, but you get free campsites and it’s not something that you have to obligate to for the entire summer. At least here in Michigan. Our state parks are always looking for camp hosts. A number of them have full hook ups on the Camp host sites. Barbie, good luck on the sale of your house.

Well I guess I should get out there and get that snowblower cranked up and clean up my drive. And get the snow off the deck so the dogs don’t have to go wading around in it. We are heading for 30° weather this coming week, so I suspect a lot of the snow is probably gonna go down. I haven’t been out front yet but I suspect that my Thanksgiving display is partially buried or at least part of it anyway. Have a nice day everyone.

Anne, I knew I needed to wait until fall when the snowbirds came back since I can only sell to snowbirds here. As of last March, new buyers can only be here for 9 months of the year now.

I am in Indio but just on the north side of the I-10 (most of the cities here are on the south side of the I-10 between that and the western mountain range) in an up and coming area. New malls, stores, restaurants, and housing communities going in around here.

Just did the haircut, and now relaxing again for a bit before getting to my list of things to do for the day. Maybe I will watch the YouTube of my church service first. I forget it is Sunday since I rarely have Sundays off!

Good morning. It was 25 on my back deck this morning when I let Emma out. Geez too cold for me. Guess I better get my faucets with their cold weather buntings on. We have warmed up to 33 and the sun is peeking out which is excellent.

Have housekeeping chores to do this morning, clean bathrooms and change my bed linen. Then might clean out my refrigerator. I see the shelves are looking a little dirty. Then going to make something as I took hamburger out yesterday so will check out some recipes and see what I can make. I dont want spaghetti because just had it last week for a few days LOL I might make meatballs, we shall see. I might find a recipe that tickles my fancy. Sue, glad to hear you are doing something you enjoy LOL altho I think you enjoy just about any project. Wish I could think like that.
Tomorrow I have my eye doc appt for injections and then will stop at the store and get a few groceries before the holiday weekend. Gas went down another 8 cents today It is now $4.09 down from a high of $5.25 that is in my gas tank now LOL I still have half a tank of the expensive gas left so maybe it will keep dropping until I need to fill up again. Barbie hope you get some lookers at your place soon. Even if they dont buy it is still nice to know people are looking. Mortgage rates are influencing some home sales in different areas. Hope those drop also as I heard scuttlebutt about it being a possibility.

Good morning,

Sue, I know what you mean about a project being a pleasure. I'm still finding items Steven and I created over the years. Karen, we are getting a break with a few days in the 40s this week and above freezing a couple nights! 24 right now and blue sky. Barbie, hope the sale of your home goes quickly!

I had an Amazon package delivered to my mailbox this morning - on Sunday! Went out to get it and am continually reminded of the lack of management and consideration for others here. Maybe it's that way everywhere and I'm just old school. I think I'll go to Walmart tomorrow for a few groceries but mainly for Christmas lights and stocking stuffers. I'm sure the snow will arrive eventually so best get prepared.

Have a good day/evening!

Afternoon All, sunny and cold. Edith wished me good morning and added she hated winter. I replies I love it, I can breath. I’m taking a breather, trimming the tree. It’s early for me but need to tuck the bins away. Lights are on the tree so the hard part is done and now the fun begins. Do enjoy the sparkle. Read a headline that said time to do away with old decorations. Do people really throw away memories because some suppose expert says it’s time. I’m sure retailers are hoping it is so. Left over creamy chicken for dinner. Barbie, good luck. Sue, as always enjoy your craftsmanship. Anita, I only have high praise for maintenance and management in this complex. I still miss my house. I read all posts and then forget all posts. Be safe

Sue, I've done camphosting and would again for the right place and time. Camphosting 2 months at Chiricahua was fabulous. I'd even do that again!

Shirl, I always have responses to everyone and promptly forget them when I start typing.

I went to our "Hoe" shack to sign out trimmers to get rid of branches on a tree I don't want, but none to be found. I didn't see them signed out which makes it more frustrating. That was to be my project for today. I really don't want to pay for it to be done but that might become necessary. If I see anyone on the landscape committee tomorrow I might ask if they are all hiding them.

Anita, so sorry about the bad management. And Shirl, glad things are good there.

Your place looks good Barbie. I bet it will sell fast. I'm wondering why they have a rule that new owners can only be there for 9 months out of the year? Do they say which months they can't be there? I guessing this is might have something to do with water availability. I don't worry about Christmas decorations and I won't throw away my old 'one'. My extent of decorating is one of those ceramic Christmas trees that were popular MANY years ago. It has red lights and some are little birds. I just plug in and I'm done. Shirl I'm with Edith I'm starting to hate winter. I think it is because we went from fall to winter in two days time this year. I'm fixing spaghetti for dinner so guess I should get started. I hope everyone has a good evening.

I always liked all the old Christmas decorations when I was little and when we were in the old house. Now my stuff is so scattered I never remember what I have. I have one of the ceramic trees that is white. I haven't gotten it out in a long time. I think it is missing a few of the lights. I could probably fine some at Hobby Lobby but I try to stay out of there. My friend that moved to New Orleans always went all out with her Christmas tree. They were beautiful but I bet cost a fortune. They use to have Christmas tours of decorated houses in Lafayette. I think the tickets were to raise money for something but they must have quit that.

It rained all day yesterday and half the night but it only rained a little over 3/4 of an inch. It got up to 64 and the sun was out a little. Sugar was happy, she got her walk today.

I was lazy and just heated some roast out of the freezer. I have a package of Cranberries to make a batch of Cranberry Sauce. I usually make two batches every year and put it in the freezer. That lasts me all year. I like home made Cranberry Sauce.

I was pulling some weeds out of the rose bed and noticed something has dug a hole under one of the bushes. Probably an Armadillo.

HA HA BJ That ceramic tree is what I have too. Have had it for several years now. I did go out and do a little yard work today trimming a couple of bushes. Still have to cut my tomato plant back but cant fill the garbage too much it doesnt come til Friday so will put this bag in it and then just let the tomato plants melt down in the bag in the yard can.

Didnt make anything with my hamburger yet will make something tomorrow. Not sure what yet. So just had the last muffin and a small bowl of soup. Good enough.

Well, I watched church on YouTube and then just kept watching videos all the rest of the day! I guess my " got up and went!

Interest rates won't affect my house selling since these places usually can't get approved for a mortgage anyways so it is usually a cash deal. They put a vote to everyone here last year about limiting the time at the park to 9 months and most people voted for it. I guess they wanted to keep out the year 'round "riff raff". So I guess I am riff raff now!

I got rid of all my Christmas decorations last month. The only ones I kept were ones I got from my mom when she passed. They were angels that my aunt made out of felt and hand-sewn sequins and beads all over them. Very beautiful altho they have seen better days. Also some ornaments my uncle made out of styrofoam forms also made with sequins and beads stuck on with pins. I contacted a cousin who is really into family history, etc and asked if she wanted them and she said yes, so I need to send them to her. I might keep one of them tho. I am just not into Christmas anymore. :| Doesn't have much meaning to me. Not the best memories of past Christmases either (except with my mom and her side of the family). I don't know where I will even be this Christmas. Last year I spent it with Linda and a friend of hers in 29 Palms, which was fun.

I think I could appreciate winter (as in cold and snow) if it didn't last so dang long! I think spring and fall should last at least 3 months each, and winter only last for one month, like spring and fall each do now! I actually was able to kind of like winter in Denver since after it snowed, it would get back into the 50's and 60's a day or two later and the snow would all melt until the next storm came thru.

Just rambling now so I think I will get something to eat and get ready for bed. A long day at work tomorrow. Hopefully, it won't be as crazy busy as it was last Monday!

Have a good night!

I'm glad it's just not me.... I read and forget not that it's not interesting as it it's just by the time I read what everyone else wrote have forgotten what was said by each...
my #3 dd came over for a visit and supper... so we ate quite early for us... going to be starting to snack in a bit oh just saw the time ...just finished family chat... so now I need to recollect my thoughts...
we are a balmy 4 degree's at least it's not negative :o
because #3 lives 11/2 hr away at least we ate early so now I want something might have to fix a cup of chocolate and have toast with it... don't normally have toast with it but it does sound good.
I should go back and reread everything but I will power on through
Barbie your house does look good... hopefully you will have just the right person come by ... but why do they have the rule that new buyers can only stay 9 months out of the year?
I have some old and new ornaments for my tree... when we lived in SLC I signed up for a program where you got a book about a country and an ornament of that country... still have some of those ornaments
as well as some the kids made and when I was at my dd's in Ogden that one year and I went and bought a bunch of ornaments from.... can't think of the name of the company but once you get on their mailing list you never get off...
we enjoyed our time camp hosting... I wish I could remember something I was going oh now I do... we had a older guest that was in a tent had reservation's for a week and he got there at the time of lots of rain it rained and rained and you got the picture... he left said he'd be back when he had a four sided RV... poor guy felt so bad for him...
yes that cup of hot chocolate is calling me
you all have a great day
