Update About Forum Sistah Eileen (beazle)

Postby IrishIroamed » Fri Nov 18, 2022 12:52 pm

Many of you may have met Eileen. Please say a prayer for her. I've delayed posting this, but her husband finally posted an update on FB.

Eileen is currently in hospice. One of the last days I saw her in Indiana in August, she told me her cancer came back. But she was going to fight like crazy and was working with her doctors to continue her treatments in Tucson like she did before.

Unfortunately, after her first treatment, she developed a bowel blockage and had emergency surgery, which seemed to go well. Then, less than a week later, she was back in the emergency room and hospitalized with an abcess. The last I talked to her, she was meeting with the medical team and said there were some major decisions to make.

After not hearing anything back from her, I contacted David on November 5th, who told me she was in hospice and she is not going to make it.

We all have our best camping friends, and she is mine, which is why I'm stationary for the winter. We had alot of plans.

All of this happened quickly over the last 2 months. Please say a prayer that she has a peaceful transition. I will miss her dearly. :|

So sorry aabout Eileen. I didnt know her except for the forum occasionally. My cousin in Canada passed away last night after only being diagnosed in April. She was also in Hospice for about 5 days. Cancer can be so cruel to so many.

Thank you for sharing with us. She fought back these past years for sure. I am so glad that I got to meet her several times and always appreciated her positive outlook and her kind smile. She was good for supporting adventures and explorations. Hopi g that some of the earth’s positive energy finds it way to wrap around David, you and their extended family….

While you told me this the other day, I wasn't surprised because I'd expected to be able to see her on my way through Tucson. I didn't know why that had been canceled until you told me at lunch. My heart is crying for Eileen, Dave, you and all the rest of their friends and family. You and she became so close. Just know she's always with you in spirit. I still feel Sparkle with me. Hugs!!!!!

This is so sad to hear!! She is such a nice lady, I camped with her a couple times and she was so much fun. Met with her last year in Port Washington for lunch and exploring the town. Prayers for all.

Very sorry to hear about Eileen. I was one of the first people who talked to her when she first joined the group, but had not bumped into her in the last few years, so did not know about her illness. I will be thinking about her and hoping she passes without pain. Sorry for her family, as well.

Most of us met her for the first time when she came to the GTG in Shipshewana. She wanted to find out more about RVs and wasn't afraid to meet a handful of crazy women. She put up her tent and was fine until the storm came through. I think she got a bit damp and probably confirmed her decision to find a comfortable RV to use for camping, traveling and exploring.....

This is really very, very sad news. I was fortunate to have met Eileen at the gtg in Illinois, on the Mississippi River. Cheryl, glad you are in the area, to “hold Eileen’s hand” for all the Forum Sisters.

Lyn~ I'm not near Eileen, but saw her just when she got diagnosed. I'm in Arizona for the winter.

Not much news from David. She asked up for a bit each day, but he doesn't say much else.
