Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday,November 9

Good morning! I’ve been enjoying the nicer days with temps in the high 60’s but sadly that’s coming to an end. The winds have been blowing so much that I now have everyone else’s leaves in my driveway! And trying to chase them has been funny, in a sad kind of way! Sad because as fast as I get a pile they blow all over before I can bag them! Oh well, at some point I’ll win over them. Sunday my son and friend came and loaded up the trailer with things in the garage that I’ve been wanting to get rid of. The motive was to be able to park a classic car in the garage. Since it’s a 2 car garage I’ve always kept the trailer in there so now it’s going to sit outside. But was sure nice that they hauled away about 1200 pounds of stuff and there’s still space to put the snowblower out where I can get to it and mower can be stored easily too. Win for me! I still have more to go since I really haven’t messed with DH’s collections out there. He knew where things were but I don’t have any idea what half of what’s there. So it’s just been a puttering few days for me. I saw last night I’m about out of milk again so another trip to the store today but other then that just going to do some work outside, when it warms up some more. It was in the 20’s when I got up this morning but supposed to get into the high 50’s later. Think it’s safe to say I need my winter coats out now! Sweatshirts and sweaters for sure! Been following everyone’s posts and sounds like everyone’s staying busy. So that’s about all I have today. Nothing exciting but that’s a good thing! Have a great day and stay safe and healthy.

It’s still morning here for a few more minutes. I went to a movie yesterday. 5 years since the last one. Saw “Tar”. I enjoyed it very much. We are still talking about it. Lyn

Good afternoon!

It's a beautiful day with blue skies and sunshine - 40 degrees.

Irmi, I so admire your musical talent! When we lived in Kansas (left there when I was 10), I lit the candles most Sundays at church and sat next to the organist. Loved watching her. Lyn, I haven't been in a theater for awhile either. Shirl, glad you are getting out after the miserable summer. Martha, we can be rid of the political ads now! 2 candidates have about filled my mailbox the past few weeks. Beth, I like that fenced site! They had a few where I stayed at in Salome, but were mostly long term.

I am rearranging the kitchen - slowly! I know where I want certain things, but it's the 'uprooted' items I'm having an issue with. Have to pause and think! :)

Daughter has been having trouble with the middle school special-needs boys - particularly the new 6th grader. If a 'normal' student pulled these violent acts, they'd be suspended. Then there's the swearing and vulgar language. Doesn't matter if she's almost 50, she's still my little girl.

Ty is already missing that yard, Anita! He took to it so quickly! We left this morning. Luckily a short (about 1 1/2 hour) drive to our new spot. Luckily because the wind had picked up. I won't check mileage because it was mostly a head wind. That means it was easier to drive in but yikes to mileage.

I have so many plans for my week in Tucson. My friend Ginger will arrive tomorrow and in the couple/few days she takes over my couch I know we're going for Ethiopian food. Apart from that we both have ideas. We'll fill the time. Sunday, lunch with Cheryl and Brenda. Monday celebrating our birthdays with a friend from childhood and her husband. Tuesday dermatologist. Thursday I head to Benson and on Thursday afternoon see my doctor. My calendar is full lol

I just noticed the time and best get a good walk with Ty in before the sun goes down. And with the wind today, we've had a downturn in temps. Nothing drastic, but winter is coming to the desert.

Like a couple others have said, I haven't been in a movie theater in years. Maybe 20 or more? But I do pay attn to what you movie going folks like and watch for when it's online.

I saw the new doctor this morning. He is young and I liked him. I have to go for fasting blood work in the morning. Hope I can remember to not eat in the morning. He said that unless he sees something I have an appointment in 6 weeks for him to go over the test. It will be interesting to see if I am ever sick can I get an appointment. My gynecologist is retiring so the nurse is suppose to set me up to see a local female doctor. A couple of years ago I called every female doctor in Lafayette and no one would take a medicare patient. I stopped at Walmart for a couple of things and ended up with a basket full. I didn't have my list with me so forgot some things so went to the grocery store after my hair cut.

I haven't been to a movie theater in years. There was a mass shooting at a theater in Lafayette in 2015. A man shot about 12 people and 2 died so I think of that every time someone talks about going to a movie. I probably won't ever go again.

Anite, I got more political texts than mail. I kept deleting and blocking them but they would just use a different number. I'm sure the runoff in Georgia is going make them crazy but hopefully it won't be on the local news. Your daughter need a body guard. I hope they don't leave her alone with those boys.

Sugar would like a fenced yard when we camp. If the weather is nice I just leave the door open and put her on a lead. I put Lexan on the screen door so I can leave the outside door open and see what she is doing. I see people post picture of the fences they bring camping. I would sure like to know where they carry all that.

Sheila, I saw the picture of your snow on Facebook. That looks cold.

Long but fairly quiet day today. Am tired tonight anyways. Got some big news this morning. My manager/friend is being transferred to another salon this week. The male stylist at my shop will be the new manager. I am not real happy about that. I don't think he can handle being a manager and can be bossy anyways. Will be interesting. If I wasn't leaving, I would ask to move to the shop my manager is moving to. It is the one I have worked at several times before to help out. It is a nice location and the customers are great and tip really well. And they have a bathroom! Oh well, I won't be there too much longer anyways (hopefully!).

I got ahold of my real estate agent, Jim. He is out of town until Monday so will come by on Tuesday to look at the house and see if I need to do anything else and then get it listed. So I have the next 3 days to get everything cleaned, bins stored and/or put away, and look really nice. First impressions are everything!

Gonna get to bed here soon so I can get up early tomorrow to get started on cleaning again.

it is Martha... and we had blue skies today .... can't remember what the chances of more snow is it's fun to see the percentage change looked sometime yesterday and saw it at 90 % no it was actually higher than that but when I went to look later that one had disappeared lowed a lot...
my nephew never came to clear away the snow on the sidewalk and drive don't know why but I really need to go to the store tomorrow going to be out of or close to out of milk and for sure out of chocolate milk which is what mom drinks... if she opts for hot chocolate during the night she will be out of it..
actually straightened up one shelf in the freezer and pawed through the pull out bin forgot about the soup in there might need to pull it out and have soup actually was going to get it out for tomorrow night... something to remember to do before bed although it will thaw out while heating but don't want to over cook the veggies in it.. tossed a bag of mystery meat try and write on the zip lock bag but guess I forgot to do so on this one...
listened to a pod cast but think I need to re-listen as I tended to nod off had a hard time waking up this morning if I was smart I'd go to my room now do whatever on the phone and read maybe get to sleep a bit earlier... it would also mean I'd be under the heated throw.. this is probably the 3rd or 4th time this movie has been on since the "Christmas movies" started I wonder how many they replay not counting the new ones those get recycled through about 3 times a week :o
I have this really scientific way of telling if mom had taken a pain pill she moves the bottle but doesn't put it back... I think it's worked but beginning to wonder if some of the time she moves it so it's more in alien with the other stuff on the shelf perhaps that is the answer maybe I ought to put it there and hopefully she won't put it back in just the same spot... not sure what the answer is she can take 4 of them in a 24 hour period but of course not all in the same time
Barbie even though it's not a good technique for working on gourds I think that they are really pretty... I have met two people in Q that work with gourds... one made one I actually won in a auction the other to fix the one I won somehow it got broke and it was a thunder drum gourd and I wanted it to hang not the way the person who made it did it so found one who could fix it... then I gave it to my daughter but not sure if she really ever put it up..
you all have a good day

Isn't it a shame that for various reasons most of us have stopped going to the movies? Probably can blame cable, satellite and streaming services. I'm surprised that some theaters are even able to stay in business. I was in Laughlin for a couple of days last week and saw the movie "Ticket to Paradise" with George Clooney and Julia Roberts. Such a great movie! I'm like Sheila - addicted to Hallmark and Lifetime movies. In these trying times I want a feel-good movie.

Isn't it a relief to have all those political ads over?!? Seems like in recent years the norm is to bash the opponent, putting whatever spin they can come up with to fudge the details, instead of giving us actual details on what they would do to fix things. Everyone tells us what's wrong, but no one tells what they would do.

I haven't been to a theater in many years either. Things have changed now with them. You have to go on-line to reserve a specific seat now. You can't just walk in and see a movie anymore. There is a movie theater not far from me that closed during Covid and never reopened.

I would love to see "Ticket To Paradise"! I love George Clooney and Julia Roberts! I also will only watch feel-good, funny movies. Too much violence and drama in life without watching more of it in movies!
