Ty and I have arrived at Emerald Cove Resort on the Colorado River for 4 nights. We're about to head over to check out the dog beach. I'll probably not spend time at the beaches where dogs aren't allowed.

Good afternoon. Rainy cold damp day here...works for me LOL Snow level was pretty low this morning and lots of people had quite a bit of snow I havent done too much here today. Cleaned out the fridge and did a load of laundry. I am getting ready to make some stuffed green peppers for dinner with a baked tater. Beth managed to get on the road safely and is now parked for a few days, good for you. Everyone else seems to be MIA today.

Been busy again today. Put out some stuff in the driveway for free including almost all my Christmas stuff. I will try to sell the tree tho. Even got rid of my exercise machine that I had under the carport since I moved here because it wouldn't fit in my house.

Went thru my box of stuff I have saved for my daughter. Just things I kept from her birth and some things I got for her that I was never able to give to her. I need to go thru photos that I want her to have. Found more stuff about my family history in there too. I will take that with me to help with my autobiography and family tree stuff I want to finish for her.

Lots of what I call "piddly stuff", leftover stuff that doesn't really go with anything. The "misc" I mentioned yesterday. I think tomorrow I will work on some small projects that I need to get done around here and get some cleaning done. I wanted to put up one more curtain rod and curtain in my porch that I couldn't get to before because of the stuff piled up there. But I discovered the screws are too long that came with it and, of course, I got rid of all my extra hardware I had, so I need to make a run to HD for 4 shorter screws to put up the brackets.

I let Romeow out in the porch yesterday and now his paws are almost black from the dust in the carpeting out there! He even had some smudges on his face that I had to wipe off! Need to really vacuum that room well once I get it cleared out. Maybe I can do that tomorrow too.

I should make some dinner and then find another thing or two to work on...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I have started doing some Christmas shopping. Actually, I have picked up a couple of things when I have been in visitor centers and stores along the way. I had gotten my oldest grandson a book about identifying desert holes, and was surprised how he liked it. His sister was fighting over it also.

One thing new with my family is that my Ohio son has been taking flying lessons and is almost done with them. So, I had been thinking about the old movie, "Those Magnificant Men and their Flying Machines" from way back. Do you remember it?? It's one of those tunes you can't stop humming once you start. So I ordered a copy for him. Also, my oldest grandson is graduating high school in June, and he will be going to a community college for the first two years for a big reason--he wants to be a professional pilot, and his parents will be paying for him to get his pilot's license--cost will be a whopping $15,000, hence his living at home for first two years instead of going away. And actually, he has already taken a couple of lessons. In addition, he has a college picked out for the last two years in California that has a program for pilots. So, of course, I ordered him a copy of the movie, as well.

And today, I stopped by the Lake Mead Visitor Center and found a book on identifying clouds, so of course, I got two copies, one for my oldest grandson and one for the second grandson in Ohio. I figured they might find it interesting, and i am trying to expand their horizons a bit, beyond the fiction they tend to read. Got a book on what cats want for oldest granddaughter in CA, as well. And I got myself and my Ohio DIL one of those shopping bag things that were posted here a couple of weeks ago.

Makes it a lot easier to pick things up in small bits--easier to pay for that way, also.

And I also am writing out an explanation of the information I found on my family research and am planning on having five copies bound--one for each grandchild. I don't want all my history to disappear. My sons don't care, but I am guessing maybe someday my grandkids will. I won't do a fancy binding, probably just pick up some nice folders somewhere. Try to write a bit each night.

Its been a cold dreary day... when I looked at the weather on phone it didn't have us getting out of the 30's maybe high like 37 and I didn't look later to see if it changed... just one of those days that you wanted to curl up in bed and read... after I read on FB for a bit I did get up and did a half row on Swedish Weave and started the next row... took me a moment to figure out what I was suppose to do... it's the stupid things that throw a person off like take two instead of one... make a world of difference...
did make soup sorta a potato corn ham chowder... other than I got it too salty for me and mom didn't add salt to it so must have been ok for her and although I made more than for tonight I didn't make a huge amount that is a win for me...
looks like you are on top of your Christmas gifts Judy ....
I am so glad that you all received rain that is so good... will pray that that continues... and how nice not to have more fires than what we have experienced this season...
you all have a great day

Yesterday I went and picked up my son so he could have my car. He has a doctor's appointment tomorrow or Friday. He was in no condition to drive Monday after the hospital ordeal. I don't like to drive the truck to Lafayette but decided to go to the Meetup meal anyway. We had two new ladies that went to the same college I went to. They graduated 20 years ago and I graduated 56 years ago. That was an interesting conversation. I stopped at TJ Maxx on the way in. They are ready for Christmas. I thought about picking up a box of candy for my sister but good grief it's only November 2. I would probably eat it before Christmas.

The batteries for my Vivofit came and it's working again. I was afraid I might have to buy another one. I'm not sure it does much good but at least I know when I haven't been moving enough. It keeps up with my sleep but I seldom look at that.

The new cat comes to meet me now when I go to the old carport. I might call her Miss Kitty. My ex-sister-in-law has a cat named that so don't know. I would sure like to know where some of these cats came from. I have been seeing her for several months but she would take off if she saw me.
