Cloudy Monday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cloudy Monday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Mon Oct 24, 2022 7:48 am

Good Morning g. Cloudy and 55° Here at the 45th, with some rain moving through. Supposed to be partly cloudy later. Just had 3 beautiful 70° Dsys. Got a lot done outside.. Cleaned up leaves and pine needles from neighbors and my yard, cleared the walking path and leaves and pine needles at entrance to sub. Course going to have to do some of them again as last of leaves come down. Then I can store neighbors and my tractors for the winter.

Velda, you asked how I clean up leaves etc. No, I don’t rake. I have a Stihl leaf blower and a John Deere lawn tractor equipped with dual mulching blades and a bagging system. I use the blower to blow the leaves from areas I can’t get the tractor into, either into the woods or out where I can pick thrm up with the tractor. I take the bagger system off in the spring and just mow grass with the tractor.

You had also asked me a while back about how I make my wood crafts patterns and stuff. I have not forgotten about that. I have been taking pictures as I go along on my latest project, but it is a time consuming project that is interrupted with other things, so it is taking a while to get it finished. Soon as I finish up this last piece today then I will post the pictures for you

Sandi, hope your luggage catches up with you. Barbie, you are a bundle of energy, but you have a goal to work toward. Beth, sorry about the delay in heading south. But before long you will be free as a bird. Shirl and Irmi, enjoying your posts. Martha seems to have cats being added to her collection,

As for me today, I am going to head to town to the credit union, store and run a few other errands. Going to be kind of a bit of a fun trip because I am going to pick up some supplies to finish my Thanksgiving display and start getting things to work on the Christmas stuff. I know it seems early to be tackling holiday stuff but these things take time. I don’t want to be rushed at the last minute. Also want to get the patterns cut out before the weather gets too cold to do anything in the garage.

So, I best get my act together and get going here. Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Cloudy by Sue, brrrr cold here. It was 18, feels like 6 when I walked Ty. Now says 18 feels like 7 lol. We should get up to 32 around noon with a high maybe reaching 40. Running out of some things for continental breakfast. Oh well. Can't wait for tomorrow's breakfast to end and everyone to check out. Then we'll be closed at the motel for the season.

Dawn is happening abs the sun will be peaking over the mountains soon.

46 here this morning with rain off and on. Our high today is only going to be 57. Good sweatshirt weather. We have rain predicted off and on all week with temps remaining in the 50's and 60's. Yup Fall is here.

Going to go get my hair cut today. It has been 1 1/2 years since I got it cut and I hate it long. But I was sick and didnt feel like even getting showered, dressed and off to hair salon for quite some time. Today is the day I will feel like my old self 100%.

Going to make my bread tomorrow and some of that potate soup made with the O'Brien potatoes. It is definitely soup weather.

It's 81 and overcast today. It's still very windy and it makes my hair stand on end. I thought I had just had my hair cut. I looked on the calendar and it's been 4 weeks. Time sure flies when you're having fun. The burn cage is full of trash I would like to burn but I'm afraid to start a fire. Yesterday when I was on my way home a firetruck passed me. It was headed to a field fire that was headed for a bunch of hay.

I need to go to the bank but don't know if I'll make it to town. Probably should go today because we have a 90% chance of rain tomorrow.

Thanks Sue for the info. My property is too small at 3/4 acre to look for a baggerr like that for my tractor. I have 2 big trees out front, but with the driveway and slopes I need something different. Raking is a pain, blower helps some, but still gotta scoop up leaves.
We had "predicted, percentages" of rain over weekend, but nary a drop fell. Is nice to have cool weather in 70's and finally in 40's at night. Slight chance rain end of week.
We have more appointments than usual this week with son back to eye Dr as close up on his new glasses doesn't work for him and a check up with one Dr and I have my annual eye exam. With my still having tired days or afternoons, at times, it's challenging, but we will get there.
Have a good day everyone.

The temp here is 67* and sunny. Our low last night was 53*. A beautiful day. I am going to make a meatloaf for one tonight. I use a little sweet chili sauce for dipping bites in.
Yesterday was not a good day for our sports teams. Mens and womens soccer teams both lost. As did the baseball and football teams. (I still consider theChargers my team)
Hey BJ, I finally got around to ordering A Gentleman in Moscow from the library. I will let you know how I like it.
My. Letter to the editor was printed in Saturdays paper. The subject was what I would do regarding the homeless if I were Mayor.

Yea for your luggage!

I changed my bed this morning, and am in the process of doing four loads of laundry--three full weeks worth. I have some rugs, but I'll do those and a few other things just before I leave on Friday morning. Rained last night, but rain that was expected for this afternoon looks like it has fizzled out. That is fine for me because it is already damp enough here. More rain tomorrow and Wednesday, however.

I've got to get two loads out of dryer and two out of washing machines, but I want to start a loaf of bread this afternoon. If it is too cold here, I turn oven on and leave it on maybe 5 minutes, then turn it off and put my bread in there.

Hello Everybody
Lyn, you have lived a good many years and have acquired knowledge and wisdom, please share your letter and give us your thoughts on the homeless. Not having a place to live is a problem for many people everywhere you go.

Sandi, happy to hear that your luggage made it home. Sounds like you and your daughter made a lot of good memories.
I read all your posts, but I can’t always reply. Enjoy the rest of your day. Peggy

Lyn I dont have a solution for the homeless but it is shameful what happened in Talent and Phoenix after the fire 2 years ago. Building permits for some are just now being approved AND the cost is outrageous. So I am pretty sure it is like that in many cities. Now why should it take so dang long to get a building permit and why does it cost so much when our state is in crisis for housing.
Yes please post your letter, I would be interested in your thoughts.

YAY Sandi, glad your luggage fround it's way home.

Peggy were your ears burning. Your name has been brought up recently but always with warm thoughts. Jane and I had to drive faster than I had planned Saturday when the vet called me in route with her progesterone levels. They were much higher than any of us expected so instead of taking a relaxing two day drive to Maryland I drove the full 500 miles on Saturday so that we could get the first breeding in Saturday night. This morning we headed a little farther north to la d in Lori and Docks driveway in PA. Lori was very accommodating when I had to change my plans on the fly. Tomorrow I am heading east again to find Paulette’s mostly flat driveway. And I was able to talk to my son Ben a little while ago and he said to come on up to their place in New York even if it is mid week. As he put it, I take care of myself pretty well and don’t have to be entertained. Something about being self contained parked out in the yard. I am definitely getting my money’s worth from Jane’s trip to Maryland…. I figure as long as the gas is already spent to get me this far.

Yay for the found luggage!

A long busy day today! But I made it thru. I have tomorrow off. Lots to do so I have to decide what is a priority. Need to bring a load to the storage unit. Need to do laundry. Need to clean up the deck and the rest of the outside of the house and yard. Need to do some housework... So I have some decisions to make. Can't get all that done tomorrow. I have Thursday and Friday off so I can do the rest then. With all the snowbirds coming back now, I hate to have the outside of the house look like a slum house! :o , so that is a priority! I work next Sat, Sun, and Monday, and then have the next 4 days off, so I should be able to finish up what needs to be done by the end of that week (I hope! ).

Tonight, another evening to relax before bed. Nothing on TV so hopefully, I can get to bed a bit early. Still have all the windows open and a nice cool breeze coming in so that is good! The house smells fresher now.

Sheila, I have Karma in a 5 gallon tank (too heavy to lift) and I wouldn't have any room for him in the RV. I don't want to put him in anything smaller than that. He is a very active fish! I am sure I can find him a good home here where he will have a more stable environment.

I picked up a passport application this morning at the Post Office. I want to get a passport card. Got that filled out at work and need to get an appointment set up on line for approval and photo.

Just remembered too, that I need to get the ladder from my neighbors so I can take the covers down from the skylights in my kitchen and bathroom. Need to add that to the list...

Sue, I wouldn't exactly say I am a bundle of energy! I am just pushing myself to keep plodding along to get stuff done! I can't be lazy and put things off anymore.

Well, need to get a few little things done here before I get to bed. Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I used the "it's my 52 anniversary " ticket to not do anything..... one day I'm going to run out excuses well actually probably have... :? as to cold yes it's arrived woke up to 35 I think right now it's 31 and dropping I am just not ready for it and the pellet stove isn't working so no where to go to get warm... or warmer that 67 which is what the thermostat is set at we will put this on repeat through out the winter... that almost makes it sounds like I am resigned to staying I'm still hoping but at the same time when I think about what I would need to do to do so I really wonder if it could happen and winter is coming guess we will see what ends up happening.. the thing is if I could see a plan that all could work with including mom then I'd have an idea of what to do...
my niece just dropped off some stuff groceries and laundry so took the laundry into the bedroom came back and sat down to finish this and mom asks me if I'm not going to fold the clothes... well it can wait for a bit... we do work on a different time table ...
so think I will not watch the movie all the way through... might did out my heated throw... maybe it's just in a bin and stuff on top of that bin so it may wait till tomorrow...
I had always assumed that Larry would be with me for I don't know how long just didn't think I would do the 52 anniversary without him and I will feel that way next year and the year after... do miss the man
you all have a great day
