Monday Oct 3

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday Oct 3

Good Morning, It is a beautiful fall morning here and the weather man is promising several more of the same. Unfortunately though not much chance of much needed rain. I have an eye appointment today and I'm not looking forward to going. I still can't see too well from my left eye after the cataract surgery I had the first of the year. I think my whole body needs a 100,000 mile check up.
Has anyone read the book A Gentleman from Moscow? If so you might want to watch as they are coming out with a TV adaptation. My DH and one of my friends say this is their favorite book and both are very avid readers.
I read quite a lot but this one didn't seem to interest me but I might like the series.
I should get organized or I will be late, my appointment is at ten. I hope everyone has a good day!

Dogs have all been grooming and nails Dremeling, though Lark maybe the only one actually traveling with me this week. She was sufficiently bathed and fluffed yesterday. Now I am off to the truck wash to remove the detritus that an Ohio summer of trees and humidity leave behind on a 21 year old RoadTrek. If we stay on schedule Lark and I are heading south towards South Carolina early Wednesday.

Coolest wake up temp since last spring! Bring on fall please!
Will head to Curves soon, then plan rest of day and week. Tomorrow AC/Heater guy will be here for fall checkup on system. No rain in sight, but hopefully soon. Might look for my Halloween decor and get a bit up.
Hope all have a good week.

Temp this morning was 37 when I got up this morning with fog. We’ve had rain the last few days so hoping for at least one day in between of sun! The sun actually showed itself for a little bit this morning but now cloudy again! Painters are here and will work for awhile unless we get one of the scattered rains they mentioned. Trees are starting to show color around here so hope we do have a pretty fall. Of course that also means leaves falling and lots of raking! Tina, hope you have a good trip to SC. Lark will be happy, I’m sure! Karen, good to hear you’re doing better. I called my RV guy today to get on his list to winterize Lola. With everything going on around here there probably won’t be any overnight trips now until spring. I’m itching to go somewhere but guess it’ll have to be a day trip if I can get away from the craziness around here. About the time I think I can seems like something else crops up that keeps me here! I did remember rabbits the other night since I was still up past midnight! Sure hope it helps! That’s about all my news, such as it is! Have a great day and stay safe.

I’m doing last-minute packing for the trip to Italy and Greece with my daughter starting tomorrow. I’m trying to keep my suitcase for 2 1/2 weeks at 20 lbs. Not an easy task. We would prefer not to have to check our luggage so we’ll see how that goes. We leave out of San Francisco and have a 2-hour layover in Paris before getting to Rome. I doubt I’ll be able to post any pictures, but I’ll try.

Wouldn’t you know. While running around finishing last-minute things today like picking up a prescription, the battery on the car I had borrowed from my daughter and son-in-law and intended to return to them tomorrow died completely. Took awhile, but the dead one was under warranty so the mobile service installed a new one at no charge. Sure glad that didn’t happen tomorrow morning when trying to get to my daughter’s and then on to the airport on time. :o

I took the bus from Fort Worden to Port Townsend today. It was an uphill walk to the bus stop, but not too bad. I did a lot of walking around shops and had some fish and chips for lunch along the port area. Good day, but I am tired from all the walking. I could have ridden my electric bike, but I am still afraid of falling on the knee that I fell on in Edinburgh and Rocky Mtn National park. It is still a bit stiff and sore, so I am giving it more time to heal.

Tomorrow, I will drive to a nearby town to get gas, pick up an Amazon package, and pick up a prescription. It is a nice little town so will probably do some walking around there, as well.

Dish had a dispute last week with the Disney Channel people when it came to renewing their contract, so my favorite National Geographic plus a couple of animal channels I watch were taken off the satellite lineup. I am happy that they are back today, but it gets irritating when they take channels down.

Just got home from work. It was a long, busy 9 hour day! And then just when I thought it was over, we had 2 customers come in at the last minute for haircuts! Then the owner came in, to make things more stressful! Now I am relaxing on my bed with no other plans for the evening! I have the next 5 days off, so will have plenty of time to get the rest of my stuff done in here.

Tomorrow I will take the books to the library and donation stuff to the thrift store. Will look for a place to take my old microwave (with some help from Dave, since it weighs a ton!). Also need to do laundry. I want to frost my hair again so hopefully I can fit that in somewhere this week too. My hair is getting pretty long and gets curlier as it gets longer (thanks to menopause!).

I found another outlet in the kitchen back in a corner that is one of those GFCI outlets, so I pushed the button on it, and it worked! The other outlets are now working. Thank you for suggesting that. I didn't realize those were connected to other outlets. One less thing to worry about.

Anita, glad you are back! Am anxious to hear about your trip!
And Sandi, I can't wait to hear about your trip you are leaving on tomorrow! That should be so exciting!
I am sure Sue is having a good time in the UP right now. I imagine the colors on the leaves are stunning!

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

I got back from camping about 5:00 this afternoon. I was pooped after driving 4 hours and unloading the motorhome. Friday I got my booster and headed for the lake. We ended up with a group of 8. We couldn't have ask for better weather. It was 80's during the day and 60's at night. The mosquitoes were bad and the bitting flies even worse. I had another problem with my motorhome. Saturday afternoon I noticed a strange smell one of the times I went in the motorhome. I ask my sister if she had sprayed something and she hadn't. A little latter I noticed the refrigerator had changed over to battery. I started checking and none of the electric things were working but I had 12 volt power. We checked the breakers and fuses and couldn't find the problem. I think something shorted out. I took the outside cover for the refrigerator off and ran an extension cord to the refrigerator so we wouldn't lose all the food. It's always something.

Yesterday my sister and I moved to the camp to spend the night. My sister couldn't get to the lake at the state park so she wanted to fish. The lake was down a few feet so the fishing wasn't good. Today I winterized the camp trailer and we headed home. Since I came home today instead of Sunday I'm not going to know what day it is all week. Today feels like Sunday to me.

My arm was only a little sore Friday and Saturday. I took Tylenol before bed a couple of nights. More for my shoulder that I dislocated 10 years ago than for the arm I got the shot in. I must be getting arthritis in my shoulder.

Karen, if you are getting rid of used towels the animal shelter is always asking for towels. Maybe there is one near you that could use the towels.

I quit drinking much milk probably when I was in college and probably because of the calories. I try to drink more milk now but have a hard time getting through a carton before it goes bad. I am still eating the cheese that has more calcium. It's more like taking medicine.

This morning we were the only ones at the campground so I let Sugar run lose for a while. The first thing she did was get in the lake so I came home with a wet, smelly dog. She has to have a bath tomorrow.

Martha that is an excellent idea for donating the towels. I have seen them ask for various things and towels was on their list so thanks for reminding me.
