Good morning Everybody from Deming, NM. Two friends and I have been making our way slowly to Mexico for the winter. They are driving rigs and I am driving the red pickup truck…. We slowed down to give the RV park in Kino Bay more time to recover from the hurricane that hit them in August. Electricity is still spotty and my place might not have power, which means no refrigeration or air conditioning.
Happy to hear that Liz and Irmi made it through Ian with little damage. My heart goes out to those whose homes were destroyed.
Stay well and enjoy today. Peggy

It was after midnight when I woke up and remembered to say rabbits! Bad habit of falling asleep in my recliner, but I did then go to bed! No big excitement here, temps in 90°s, nothing new. Hope to get a few things done between watching my church conference online. We are all (cats, bird and son and I) relatively healthy, being that all but son are senior citizens! Hope to stay healthy, and will get flu shot in week or so, but NO more boosters of the other variety as my Dr advised me to skip them unless I hear from him, due to both my bad reaction and my post viral syndrome! He confirmed there is now data linking the vax with spikes in BP ( which had me in ER twice), plus many thousands more with vaccine injury.
Have a good weekend everyone.

Good afternoon and happy Oct. 1st!

Steve woke me at midnight so we could go to bed and I shouted Rabbits then.

Judy, when I got my second vaccine, I had a large red welt that had a fever for two weeks and itched like there was no tomorrow.

When we were on our way to a grocery store this morning, only a couple of miles from here, we saw a very large tree sitting on top of a not very large house. I know we had lots of wind, but that was the first tree we've seen down. I'm so sorry for the owners because it didn't look good.

There is a Farmers Market in Webster on Saturday's, so we stopped there on our way home. There is a potluck after church on the first Sunday of the month, so I'm going to make an orange mandarin salad and devilled eggs.

Have a good month!

I remembered for a change! Those of you in Florida, is Ding Darling gone? I think it was on Sanibel. Pictures of the destruction in that area are horrendous.
My wish for a little dog fell through. I talked with her foster dad. He is the one who alerted me to the problem of her barking. Did I tell you, this rescue has no shelter. All the dogs are placed in foster homes. One gets a better sense of the dog than you would get from a shelter.
They have another dog I am interested in. So, continue to make lists!

Lyn, the storm is out of FL and was on the east coast of SC yesterday. There is so much damage on the southern east coast of FL, it makes me cringe. My sister in Daytona still doesn't have power, but no damage. There was flooding in her back yard and the street in front of her house.

Arm is a only sore from newest COVID booster when I touch it, no itching or any other symptoms, so I am satisfied with that. Had some shrimp for a quick lunch and am now going out for a walk before it gets too chilly here. There is a huge bluff behind me so the sun "sets" very early and the campground gets really cold after that.

And I was up most of the night, but forgot about rabbits.

I forgot rabbits. It is hard to believe it is October!!
Irmi wish I had some of your orange mandarin salad. I love it but never make it. I wonder if the tree you saw was down because of wet ground, we had that happen here.

Peggy enjoy your trip to Mexico and I hope you place has power by the time you get there.

I'm also debating the second Covid shot. I was so tired in the mornings I could hardly stand for several months after each of my three shots. I would feel normal by around noon. I'm not sure if that was the cause but it was certainly not a good experience.

I groomed Pippa this morning and we were both really tired of each other by the time I finished!

Just kind of a quiet Saturday around here. Took a shower and it only took me about 30 minutes as opposed to the previous ones that took 1 1/2 hours. Things are looking up thank goodness. Getting back to normal.
Finished my vacuuming chore now I can just use the Robot for the next few weeks. I like the button pushing idea so much better. Cleaning all of Emma's hair out of the brush sometimes is a little time consuming but not that bad.

I was ever so happy I remembered to say Rabbits before I talked to Emma. Doesn't usually go that way for me. I cant wait until after midnight because I go to bed around 8 or 9 so that wouldnt work. Going to clean out my walk in closet this week and then make a run to the donation center. Need to put my summer clothes away as it is just about that time. Dig out the flannel jammies LOL

My doc said to hold off on the booster shot for now. For the same reasons as Velda. She is just getting me back to normal and doesnt know what effect it could have on that. She did ok the flu shot tho so I will get that for sure.

Good evening.

Long day at work. Those 9 hour days really are hard on me. My back hurts quite a bit by the 7th hour or so. Afterward, picked up my prescription and a new garden hose since mine bit the dust last week.

Yes, trees will come down easily if the ground is saturated with water. Nothing but mud to hold the roots down and a little wind will push them right over.

I have a cousin and her hubby who live in Bonita Springs just by Ft Myers FL. They have (had?) a home on a canal there. I am trying to find out if they got to a safe place before the hurricane hit there.

I didn't get to sleep until about 2:30 this morning. Just couldn't settle down. I also said a couple words right after midnight before realizing it, and then said "Oh crap!!" and then "rabbits!". I guess that won't count. :(

It was dark when I got home tonight and I forgot to check the power box this morning so I will check it tomorrow.

Gonna watch the Lifetime movie tonight about Gabby Petito. No one really knows exactly what happened with her and her boyfriend so it won't be totally factual but still should be interesting to watch.

One of my neighbors across the street came back last week for the winter and brought 3 little dogs with her. One of them barks non-stop! Very annoying!

Lyn, good luck on finding the right dog! You need a lazy old lap dog! :D

Have a good night!

I had to laugh at the old lap dog... when I was at my dd's house prior to leaving for WA for the cruise I was sitting in the chair and my grandson's dog came over keep forgetting his name... but he is a Assie and he all but crawled in my lap  so lap dogs come in all sizes
I think I remembered to say RABBITS but actually can't say for sure...
watched conference today and crocheted while doing so been working on a scarf off and on all summer thought I'd made up the pattern those who have gotten a pot holder that I've done it's that pattern but elongated a lot  so Lorna posted on FB a picture of a scarf she had just done so I shared a picture of the one I'm working on someone commented on it wondered what the name of the pattern is I said darn if I know... but went looking and found it but don't remember the name of it... however I'm glad I went looking as it told me how to finish it good to know as I didn't all of you have an unfinished product
drove to my brother's yesterday and didn't even get the computer out
I don't want to relocate permanently but would really like to go and see if several months at a low altitude will help. I know that my throat feels like it closes off and the nose never "blows" out well doing a bit better using saline daily but haven't done that very well today...they also want to check for sleep apnea what I get for allowing my #3 dd to go with me... it's like calling the pot black but then she is diagnosed with sleep apnea as is my son... I did finally get the booster then a few days later started getting sick if I hadn't been negative 3 times I'd wonder... we haven't talked (my brother and I) about the what if's I'm waiting for the talk with the dr on the `12 hopefully the results of the test that has to be redone will be to him by then that will be done on the 7th I believe... I still get really winded just walking around but keep thinking that I have been that way for awhile but it is indeed worse... I just really need to loose weight...
Peggy have a safe trip and enjoy your Mexican winter... haven't heard yet when Ann and Bill will be headed to Mexico some times I see her posts other times not...
Is Martha ok?
my cousins house got some flooding but she said that they are ok and my nephew's is ok
you all have a great day

Sheila, I read that sleep apnea can be hereditary. I know both of my brothers have it and I am sure my mom did since she snored really bad.

I finally heard from my cousin's daughter who said her parents are fine and their house is OK too. But not very far away from them is almost total devastation. I am glad they are OK tho.

Just saw that there is a hurricane heading for Mazatlan now.

Just checking in for the month. I sometimes read the dailies. I wish the best for and send positive energy out to everyone working through the heavy lifting of facing life's big roadblocks and detours. The slogging through daily trivia of life is well.....somewhat taken for granted though I guess one should never take the ability to provide one's dinner, do the laundry and clean the house for granted as some of us the have lost that ability for whatever time frame in the past may briefly forget. Time marches on and I remind myself that we are the lucky ones.

Still making doctor appointments, getting test results and trying some interventions to see what improvements to my systems I actually have control of. My United Healthcare Supplement covers full membership in our large Countywide Y that is only about 2 miles from me. So I have carefully tried out several of their structured classes designed for seniors, plus independently utilized their Senior pool which is maintained at a wonderful temperature of about 88 degrees. No matter what I accomplish while there I remind myself that it is all more than I would accomplish if I were at home sitting in my office chair. I have once again tried a new chiropractor in the hopes that my back will finally find a savior. So far the decision on the results are still out..... I am not hunting for a miracle but would like movement in a positive direction. So gentle yoga and warm water aerobics and stretching and strengthening it is.... Because of the pleasant weather we have been having here in Ohio, full of hope, Lark took me out on a brief ramble to our nearby state park yesterday. I did manage the gorge loop trail of 1 1/2 mile but not without 3 different "sit downs" to enjoy the scenic flora and fauna, and still struggled on that last leg across the broad fossil grounds of the "overflow" area as my back kept louding pointing out that it really could use a nice comfy bench about now. If Liz reads this she will recognize that this trend is very similar to what she and Thistle observed last winter in Florida. Lark still looks up at me with hope and belief of future possibilities in her gaze.....

May everyone have a good month. Find some enjoyable moments. Accomplish at least a few good things (and if means finding a good doggy companion, Lyn....then great things) Keep on keeping on.

I am still very pleased with my decision to change doctors and have appreciated the follow up phone calls and ease by which my questions and concerns have been responded too.

Lark finished her RAE Rally title last month and is still in negotiations with her GHL handler as to whether or not she will try for the next level titles or rest on her laurels. As many of you know fatigue easily take the wind out of one's sails plans for the future accomplishments. Jane is in final negotiation with her match maker regarding where she might head off to meet up with a quite handsome and accomplished significant other come about November when she is expected to come into heat again. If I don't make it to Florida this winter it will be because of puppies.

What has been accomplished and is on the schedule: Had an "end of the summer" lunch meet-up with Sharon but no photos this time. She left the bike at home and drove the truck this time. Am scheduled to meet up with Nan near CHarleston, SC, this week, as weather seems to be supporting our plans. From what I have read Ian missed Charleston by just a breath of a few miles. WIll find out more within a day or too and report back next month.

Enough brain ramblings for one month.......
Tina and the furry companions...Lark, Audrey and Jane
