So sorry you have to wrestle with this decision.

Evie

Evie I agree I think wearing masks has helped keep a lot of people from getting colds, flu, etc I still wear my mask in stores and sometimes when I meet friends inside a coffee shop I keep it on until we order and get seated because as we stand around ordering like at Starbucks we are really close. I also wear it because of the Trigeminal Neuralgia I have sometimes I have too much pain in my mouth and I can't brush my teeth.

Sheila I hope you can find a place to live that is good for your health and that your family understands and supports your needs.

It just occured to me! Alpha Lipoic Acid is something you should look into. My husband was recommended by his surgeons Alpha Lipoic Acid to heal nerves damaged in surgery (by his surgeons). Alpha Lipoic Acid is often recommended to diabetic patients for relief of neuropathy. When I developed bad nerve pain from Post Virus Long Hauler, I theorized maybe Alpha Lipoic Acid might help. I had nerve pain amd tingling or numbness that moved around my body starting right after I was over acute viral phase. I did some searching online, and yes some Drs are using it for Long hauler nerve pain. I have not looked it up, but, it's worth you doing some research to see if anyone has tried it for Trigeminal neuralgia. From all I can find, it's a very safe over the counter substance (unless , of course it's being used by a Dr or respiratory therapist in IV or inhaled forms, which require RX).
I bought mine through Walmart.com, as I'm not sure stores have it, and when I first looked Amazon was out. Typical dose is 1200 mg , one 600 mg capsule twice a day. I started it for my nerve pain on July 1, and within 8-10 days, I realized I has much less pain. By now, I only occasionally get short bouts of pain if under stress. Might be worth a 30 day trial, after some reading, just to see. I think 30 is absolute minimum because nerves grow very slowly, so heal very slowly. My plan is to continue through at least October before I test dropping from two capsules a day to one, for two months, and if all goes well, try stopping.

Velda, Didn't you say you had a rapid heart rate at one time. I was reading about the Alpha Lipoic Acid and saw this in an article at the link below and wondered if you were taking it at the time it happened.

Stop taking alpha-lipoic acid and call your doctor at once if you have:

low blood sugar--headache, hunger, weakness, sweating, confusion, irritability, dizziness, fast heart rate, or feeling jittery; or

a light-headed feeling, like you might pass out.

Common side effects may include:

nausea; or

skin rash.

No I have not had any side effects from Alpha Lipoic Acid. I have had episodes of a few hours of very high BP, which started in February 2021, 10 days after first vaccine amd then a week later again. I did not go on ALA until July 2022. I have had last friday one episode of the few hours of high BP, but unrelated to ALA. I have not had rapid heart rate , other than the appropriate elevation with exercise.
