It’s Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Friday

Postby Othersharon » Fri Sep 23, 2022 10:33 am

Good morning. Yesterday was quite a first day of fall here. About the only thing we didn’t have was snow! At least so far today the sun is out even if the temps aren’t going to be very high. So I’ll take it. The painters got here a little after 8 and I was just getting up and around! At least I was dressed but still working on the first sip of coffee. They are coming through the house to get to the attic so they can get on the roof to get the top of the house so needed to make sure the door was unlocked! My arm was really sore from the shot the day before and not surprised that I wanted to nap a lot. I fell asleep on the couch and woke up about 6 so figured I would have trouble sleeping last night but that didn’t happen. Went to bed and slept all night! So today I’m back to my normal with just a sore arm if I bump it. So today will probably be inside chores since the wind is blowing and leaf cleanup isn’t happening! They are so dry they just blow as fast as I rake them. I need to trim back my ferns but they are still mostly green so hate to be cutting them. Makes it to real that the season’s changing! At least right now I can pretend it’s still summer! Suppose I should get busy and accomplish something! Have a great day and enjoy your day.

Still hanging out in bed. Need to get up soon and get started on my bedroom cleanup.

We are heading back into summer next week with temps over 100* and high humidity again! Hopefully, that won't last too long.

Sheila, glad to hear you had a great time on your cruise. I am sure it is hard to try and fit everything you want to see and do into such a short amount of time. Sorry you didn't get your bear :( .

Time to get up! Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning!

Came over to BFF's on train Wednesday through heavy wildfire smoke. A portion of the parallel road is still closed until at least Monday. Train was delayed so had to reschedule TSA precheck appointment. We had lunch and dinner with her senior center friends and it was a blast. Wish I had that in Leavenworth. We have Canadian required Covid test appointments and Canada just announced they wouldn't require them after this month! Long-time friends are picking me up in a bit for a visit. Hoping for a down day tomorrow before we leave Sunday.

Sheila, so happy to read your reports on ports since we are doing two of them. Awful news about your son-in-law! Judy, my daughter works with 3 middle school boys and one turns on her from time to time. She's had to have people pull him off. It's scary. Family situations aren't always the best which isn't helpful for these children. Karen, hope you continue to feel well.

Take care.

Was chilly and foggy this morning. Seems to be clearing up now. Our temp is supposed to be 79 today, we shall see.

Not too much on my agenda today. Need to do some laundry so will put that in after lunch. I continue to feel pretty darn good and still have an appetite so that is a plus.

Glad Shelia had a good cruise. Sitka was my favorite town. We hung out down at the docks talking to lots of locals, it was super fun. Juneau was my least favorite. I didnt buy too many trinkets and just as well as they would have been lost in my fire. Oh well such is life.

Anita is on the move again lol Hope you have a great time. I am looking forward to feeling well enough for a road trip (not too far, maybe over to the coast) Having company next weekend, my BFF is coming to visit and I am looking forward to seeing her. It has been a long time.

Pondering what to make for dinner, so far I am leaning towards salmon patties. I buy those small cans of salmon at Costco and it makes 2 nice sized patties, perfect for me.

I didn't cruise but took the ferry with my RV and went to the three stops Sheila did. My favorite, like Karen was Sitka. My least favorite was Ketchikan, in fact I cut that stop short a night. So much history in Sitka. And having my little RV I was able to get out of the port area and enjoy Juneau more. Ketchikan was just another port city to me. That said, doing them just after 3 months exploring as much of mainland as I could in that time, I learned to avoid the tours in Alaska that the cruise ship guests were on. That's my view only though.

Working like crazy, very busy now. Busiest all season. There's good and bad in this. I think I'll sleep for a week when I get south. I have made a doctor's appt, dermatology appt, audiology appt, etc for my time in Arizona.

Oh, it was in the 30's when I walked Ty this morning. Highs in the low 70's today.

Time to walk Ty and check out money on the laundromat. Probably will be rolling quarters later today.

I woke up this morning to the sound of the surf, looked out the window, and thought to myself how lucky I was to be able to live this traveling life to such beautiful places! I worked a second job for 30 years to pay for it, so I guess I deserve it, however. :)

It is a cool (high of 64) day, with some fog and just a bit of sunshine occasionally, but a beautiful place whatever the weather. Pacific Beach SP in Washington is one of the very few public campgrounds along the coast where you can get a campsite overlooking the beach and ocean. I'll be here a week and then heading to Fort Worden on the northeast edge of the Olympic Peninsula.

Well, my bedroom didn't get done today but I did get my microwave installed. Dave came over and we worked on it for awhile. It took some finagling but if finally fit in the opening without a centimeter to spare!

I ordered some small plastic spice bottles to put my few herbs/spices in and will get a plastic spice bottle holder that sticks to the inside of a cupboard door or on a wall, and the bottles just snap on to it. Will look nicer and save space. I don't use them very often so I don't need the large bottles they come in and they all are different sizes, shapes, etc. Now they will all match in nice small containers. I transferred what I had into those bottles and labeled them.

I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos on cheap and easy organizing hacks so that is where I am getting these ideas. Lots of good ways to save space, time, and money. I will be an organized minimalist in no time!

Did a haircut on a lady here in the park this afternoon. I need to find some I dinner now and then watch my Gold Rush shows. I don't go into work tomorrow until noon so I can sleep in a little if I want. :D

Have a good night!

had a lazy day at dd's home today only went out with dd to pick up an order at Lowe's and to pick up the granddaughter...
even took a deep enough nap that when they decided that to go to supper with out me did bring back food but I must have been really out of it...
#3 dd didn't close on her house today guess all the I's weren't dotted and the T's not crossed... hopefully it will happen on Monday...
so back to the cruise (you all just thought I was done right???) the ship was just full of activity's I don't know when they started but didn't end till midnight or later... went to zen coloring actual color pencils and paper not what I do on the phone... started a page but didn't finish it think I will pick up some pencils and finish it have lots of pencils in the trailer but they are where no one can get to them... just would like to see them finished but the neat part was that son came and found me and we just visited while I colored... we don't get that opportunity very often they even had a word search finished it
all sorts of trivia games going on and name that tune type of activity bingo of course there was a Harry Potter trivia just lots to do beside the cruising through the lounges..several pools a couple of hot tubs not overly hot but nice to sit in we found time for it once.. the lounging chairs where all so deep and hard to get out of that didn't really try that the one I did sit in for a time cause hey I'm on a cruise going to sit and relax for a few... was uncomfortable cause I needed one I could get out of
and the big thing was the 360 view went up this crane like thing and it rotated around the ship so you got a neat view had a cruise member playing an instrument so people wouldn't get scared.... it was a neat time
oh yes I did get my stuffed animal on the ship a husky just a little guy but cute...
so now I'm over the cruise Anita enjoy yours!!!
