Membership Milestone

Postby VickieP » Thu Jul 02, 2009 12:26 am

Hey, I just noticed that WomenRV Membership has now reached 150! :o Hopefully some more of the members will post in the introduction thread so that we can welcome them properly. Of the last 30 memberships approved, only 1 person has posted anything  Come on Women, let us get to know you, share with us, it's obvious you're interested or you wouldn't have bothered to join. If you think you didn't get the second email saying you were approved, it may have went to your spam file, that's what I think happened to mine, but I got tired of waiting and decided to just try and log in and Wha La, there it was, I was in, the start of something great.

And to the rest of yall, that got us here, Thank You! I also notice that in a few days it will be one year since the forum was started, so I have an idea,,,,, Let's all just jump in our RV's and go surprise the Ididaroad gang in Alaska  You know after seeing their pics you all want to go as bad as I do! Wouldn't that be fun, oh well, the thought was there. If I played the lotto and won I'd just go pick everyone up and show up,, think they'd let us bunk with them?

I'll certainly second what Vickie said about new members posting an intro. It's a great idea,... and hey, it's what's expected, right? How else are we going to know you are here,.. and perhaps even just a few miles away!

And thanks Vickie for noticing our anniversary date. It is ONE YEAR already! As the old saying goes.." my how time flies when you are having fun!"... and when everything is going smoothly and everyone is respecting everyone else. Yes,.. it CAN happen!

So at least let's have a big cyber birthday party on the 12th if we can't get all the way to Alaska!

Cool, Mitch! I have No talent like some of you Gals have! I'd be the one climbing up the ladder late at night to change the lettering on the sign, thinking, "I know there's got to be an easier way!"

Now Cedar, you shouldn't have posted where you put the wine. You know I steal it then. And yep - it's definitely an occasion to party. Mitch, that's a great marquee for us - thanks - and Happy Birthday to us - Happy Birthday to us. Woooooohoooooooo

Oh, would love to have you come up and join us!

Maybe by the 12th---Sunday----my ribs will be better enough to do some (mild) dancing in celebration of this group's birthday!! We have a good core of 'regulars' on here now, who post quite often and share all kinds of neat stuff in their lives, some of whom are newbies, even! Those who aren't posting might not know how to do it yet? It's not as if Beth hasn't explained how very clearly, and more than once. Oh well-----some are shy in the beginning, and reluctant to share at first.

Personally, I was so shy in Kindergarten that I hid under a table in the corner from September until my bithday in January, screaming and crying each day when my mother dropped me off until she was out of earshot-----refusing to do ANYTHING with the class. Thankfully, my teacher was wise enough to allow me to do this, as she knew I could already read and write, (including Latin) and it wasn't because I needed 'acedemic learning' that I was in school-----it was to learn how to socialize. On my birthday, I still remember that she didn't ask me if I wanted to join the class down cellar in the sandbox room, she just took my hand and told the class, "Susan is going to join us today." And I did, and I then took over the sandbox room and the entire class from that moment on! Miss Cobb was a gem of a teacher.....one of the rare ones you meet in life. I lucked out, as I could have been a social outcast forever if I had had to deal with a person who tried to 'force' me to join in.

So, all of you shy lurkers out there, I know just how you feel, and I am sure you will jump into the 'sandbox room' as soon as you feel secure!

Off I go to get some SUNSHINE!!!!!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
