Rainy Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Sep 12, 2022 7:30 am

Good morning from the rainy 45th. We are having a good soaking rain which is great. Temps are in the mid 60s. It’s going to be one of those dark, dreary, rainy days and I have been waiting for one so I can spend some time giving my house a good cleaning. At the moment I am watching some of the activities in Scotland for the Queen. There have been some beautiful pictures of the Scottish countryside, Castles and everything over the past day or so. A lot of pageantry too. Very emotional too. It is nice that the Royal family is allowing TV cameras to follow them everywhere. They are not holding back on their grief either. It is living history that has been going on for centuries. Any of the things that they are doing are things that have been done since medieval time. For instance this morning, the procession of the casket from Holyrood Palace to St. Giles church, there are archers flanking the casket bearers. Thty date back to 1713. https://www.nationalworld.com/news/uk/w ... en-3836332

So, I will watch for a while and then I will get busy cleaning. I have my wood crafts ut out and the first coat of primer on them. Later on I will turn them over and do the backsides. I will post pictures of the process later . Tomorrow I am planning to go either to Houghton Lake or Petoskey as I am in need of more craft paints. Walmart does have them but they are cheaper paint and they tend to be Watery. So I don’t like to use them. Houghton Lake also has a Harbor Freight store and I have been wanting to go to. Hobby Lobby in Petoskey has a bigger selection of paints than the craft store in Houghton Lake, so I am kind f deciding which way to go

So, that’s all that’s going on here in Northern Michigan at the moment. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Barbie, that sounds like an awful long day. Glad you got some rain though.

Afternoon Sue, I haven’t watched any tv, just scanned headlines on internet. Big activities in England. I really get tired of coming on here and saying “no plans”. You all will think I lead a dull life. I do have an active life just not a physical one. Always something going on with family and friends that challenges my mind. I always told my children to listen to my advice and then decide what YOU want to do. Still holds true with younger ones. I just sent a very long text message, everyone needs a cheerleader sometimes.Be safe

I can finally go pick up my computer. It seems like there was something else I wanted to do in Lafayette. Hopefully I'll remember what it is. Maybe I'll make it by Lowes to see what plants they have.

I have been watching the shows about the Queen and 9/11. The office I was working in on 9/11 was one big open room. There was a TV at the front that stayed on a news station all day. We were all watching when the second plane hit. That's an image that is burned into my brain.

I think our current politicians could learn something from the Queen's grace and dignity over the years. Most of them don't have much dignity.

Shirl, I try to stay out of my son and his girlfriend's life. They don't listen to me anyway but my son doesn't like when he starts telling me something and I say I'm staying out of it. His girlfriend is looking for a new car and wants a mini van instead of an SUV. Mini vans are about $20,000 more expensive. I have had two houses that cost less than cars now. I know, I'm living in the past.

We are suppose to have a cool front come through and it will be in the 60's at night. I have a campout this weekend so it should be nice at night. The sites are close together so don't know if they allow campfires. I think one of the ladies has one of the little campfire things. I better start my list.

Good morning,

We are 'smoked in'. Air Quality is 384 (hazardous). Just YUCK! One fire stopped Amtrak and closed one pass yesterday. Also caught hikers off guard.

Met the kids for dinner last night. Monica jokingly said, 'Who are you?' because we have seen so little of each other. She forwarded a photo of a moose in my grandson's yard in Anchorage. :)

So many people, no matter what walk of life, not doing their jobs or doing them poorly. BFF and I are dealing with 2 incompetent travel agents for 2 upcoming cruises. Not serious, just frustrating.

Was a long day but luckily, not nearly as busy as yesterday. My back was really hurting today and my sciatica pain went down into my knee and below. Very uncomfortable!! Also my shoulders were both hurting too. By the end of the day, I could barely move due to my back pain. I am now laying flat on my bed with a heating pad under me. It is barely 8:30pm and I am already in my PJ's and ready to fall asleep.

I have things to do here tomorrow but depends on how my back feels. Maybe I can get the gourd doll done tomorrow. Just have to drill some tiny holes in it and add the final accessories.

Got my Jeep back this morning. I have a couple days off in a row next week so will try to get it into the Jeep repair place then.

No rain around here today altho there was a flash flood warning north of here closer to LA. Not real hot today, about 90, but the humidity was very high. I am really tired of humidity! What ever happened to the desert having a dry heat? :? Maybe that is why my joints are bothering me so much lately, because of the humidity.

Have a good night.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
