And Now It’s Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

And Now It’s Thursday

Postby Colliemom » Thu Sep 08, 2022 6:04 am

Morning. Daylight it’s just beginning to make an appearance as I type. It’s 52°, a bit warmer than the past couple mornings. Another sunny day on tap. Has been beautiful, temps in mid 70’s, low humidity and dewpoints, but we could use some rain.

I’ve been up since O’dark 30. Have a dermatology appt. At 8:30, so need to leave around 7:45. Didn’t want to go back to sleep, was afraid I would oversleep.

Sorry to hear that are you gals out in California are having such extreme heat. Hope it will cool down for you. Wish I can send you some of our fall weather. And speaking of weather, our NWS office here made a post the other night about how nice of an evening it was going to be and it was a great time to open up the windows and let in the fresh air. Some lady posted and said that she had just done that, but she startled a skunk that was walking by under the window, and had to close the windows again.   Ah, in northern Michigan. I know the feeling because I have had skunks walk by my house when I have had my windows open too.

Sheila, I hope you continue to get better. My neighbor is on oxygen too, but has it plugged into one room and then he has a really long cord that he can walk around the house with. It’s a pain I’m sure, but he has to do what he has to do. At least these days there’s so much more stuff out p, as compared to years ago when all you had was those big oxygen tanks and you were pretty much stuck in place. I see people going around here with portable oxygen tanks all the time. They have a nice little backpacks that they carry them in. Judy glad you got yourself situated. Now hopefully you can get that AC taken care of. BJ, I am late for the party, but I want wish you a belated Happy Birthday. I’m glad you had a nice day and a beautiful card to boot.

I need to finish my breakfast here and get moving because I’m gonna have to leave pretty soon. So I’m going to wish you all a wonderful day and stay safe out there.

Another 2 HOT days expected today and tomorrow before temperatures expected to trend down. And today we have an unusual down slope wind so I woke to a yellowish tint to sunlight and bad and getting worse Air Quality indexes. That is supposed to clear later today with reversal of wind. The Mosquito Fire, named after a road, reservoir and community where the fire began, continues to grow in very rugged terrain. Some homes burned amd evacuations in place. It's about 30 miles from me. I'll be hearing FF planes go and come during daylight hours as the base is only 8 miles west of my house.
I'm already feeling effects of the bad air, so plan to stay in all day. Trying to get more items ready to go to donation as I continue to purge. Might get more out of sunroom as well and into pantry and cupboards.
News says the Cat 2 hurricane (currently off Mexico and coming north) will brush our southern coast including San Diego and LA. At least someone in CA may get rain! Southern Ca needs rain as much as we do but too much at once takes them into flooded streets and mud slides!
Have a wondeful day.

I screwed up bigtime yesterday! When I paid for the car repair, I accidentally used my debit bank card instead of my credit card! :o So this morning I had an email from the bank that I was severely overdrawn! So I got up and ran over there and got the money transferred from the credit card to my checking account to cover it.

I think the heat here is really getting to me. :( I feel more stressed, anxious, impatient, forgetful, and irritable lately. They say the temps will finally start coming down to highs in the 90's and possibly 80's soon so that will help some. Hopefully, the humidity will go down as well.

I am also hoping we get some rain out of this storm system. Usually the ones coming up from the south bring more rain to my side of the valley, more so than the ones coming over the mountains from the west. We'll see...

I am taking my car back at 1:30 today and Dave's wife Debbie will pick me up and bring me home. Their daughter brought me over to pick it up last night. Hopefully, this time they will find the real problem! I can't afford to have everything else replaced before they figure it out!

I just got the faux suede material and it is gorgeous! Didn't cost much either (since it isn't real leather). It is the perfect color too. Will be working on that over the next few days, in between housework and finally finishing the gourd supply organizing (got my plastic drawers too).

Have a good day!

Puttered around the house for a bit but then ran out of wind and oxygen. I get so frustrated having to sit and rest after only doing small jobs. Had some lunch, seem to be coughing quite a bit today. Took a big glass of ice water and some meds. Have a headache so hopefully that will pass. I know it is from coughing so much, I havent even had a shower yet, just no ambition. I need to go to Costco and get my prescription (inhaler $400 good grief) and some antibiotics. Think I will lean back close my eyes for a bit and hope the coughing subsides and the pounding goes away.

Karen, sorry you are having a rough day. $400 for an inhaler? :o How long does that last?

Got my car dropped off again. Hopefully this time they can figure out what is really going on.

I can see the smoke billowing up over the mountains from Hemet. I hope they can get control of it soon! Maybe the rain will help this weekend.

Word of warning: do not try to organize anything while your cat is doing zoomies!!! I finally had to close him into the bedroom because he kept crashing into the stuff I was organizing! Crazy kitty!

I am still waiting to hear from Fleetwood factory service in Oregon about getting a new AC and getting it installed. I will call the Indiana parts department tomorrow to make sure of the correct replacement unit. (The model number I have on my old unit does not exactly match anything online, but I think I know the replacement, just need to check.) Then, I can start making more calls around to see who has one or can get one fairly quickly and then install it. I could order what I think is the right one from Amazon but then might get the wrong one or have a problem getting it installed. In the meantime, I am comfortable at Bullard's Beach SP near Bandon, OR. There is a strong breeze blowing today so driving in on the coastal road was a bit hairy, but it is OK now. Supposed to be slightly warmer tomorrow, but still with a cool breeze.

Bandon is a really neat town with a super bakery and bookstore in the harbor area. Also, the harbor area has a lot of little shops and some very nice seafood restaurants along the harbor. Interesting and well-done wood sculptures along the harbor area, also, so overall, the town is well worth a stop. RV parking is available on a dirt lot just north of the harbor, close to stores and restaurants.

Still no rain here but the temps are near perfect. I turned on a a Willie Nelson song on youtube awhile ago and Pippa came running, put her paws up on my leg so she could see better, watched and listened intently. I've never seen her do that before. I've been a Willie fan for a long time and have seen him in concert several times.
Judy I hope you can get your A/C fixed. Wish I were with you I love the Northern Ca and Oregon coast. Karen I'm so sorry you are still having issues I hope you can find something that helps and that isn't so expensive.
Velda I hope the fire doesn't get any closer.
I think my brain has stopped for the evening I hope we all have a better day tomorrow.

Forgot to add--son and wife bought big new trailer couple of years ago. Now they say they have had it with traveling with teenagers and from now on will travel alone!! Grandson is 17 and granddaughter is 15, but they will be 18 and 16 next year. Don't know what happened on last trip, but that is about the age where most parents give up on teens.

Worst trip I ever took is with younger son when he was 16. If I could have abandoned him somewhere on the east coast, I would have gladly done so because he was so obnoxious!!

I brought the neighbor's tom cat to get neutered today. Don't tell anyone. I was tired of all the fights. He was on the carport the other day and I managed to get him in a cage. He attacked poor Charlie who is defenseless. I wish Spaynation would move to a building with a parking lot. It's a nightmare to drop off or pick up an animal. It's been a long time since I have been on the road at 6:00 in the morning.

I hope I get my computer back tomorrow. I've about had it with the HP.

Martha won't your neighbor miss his kitty before you get it back? but a good deed done...
we have had a really smoky day today.... really need to go use that nebulizer did once after mom left... she sure didn't want to leave kept saying she just wish she could stay home... I'm not sure what the issue is partly I'm sure it's home but you would think she would welcome a short visit with other members of the family...I asked her what her plan would be if she stayed by herself she didn't know but she simply doesn't go and fix herself anything to eat she will nibble on strawberries crackers and cheese during the night... just wish we could come up with a solution... I told her today that some times I simply have to go and she has to go to brother's and she can either make it a good time or a bad time it was up to her...
got a email back from the company I had ordered the tops from it was just one top that was cancelled but didn't know this before I had dd order me some tops I am going to be top heavy oh well what can I say... wonder which one was cancelled???
my niece came over had put most of my luggage in the car along with the portable tanks dd thinks I need to take the concentrater just in case so guess I will find some one to help put it in the car in the morning we will leave that at my youngest dd's while on the cruise and if I need it will have it
it's later that normal guess I ought to go lock the door and do the nebulizer
Karen I won't complain what the cost of the meds for the nebulizer was after hearing what you paid for the inhaler that was way expensive... so sorry you are feeling so poorly
hopefully you can find a A/C unit before you go to AZ Judy
my minds gone you all have a great day

I'm not sure that cat knows where his home is. He roams all over. He passes by here and eats with the outside cats. I had already gotten one of her cats neutered several years ago because I thought he was feral. That cat has moved over here now.
