Sweltering Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sweltering Wednesday

Postby BarbaraRose » Wed Sep 07, 2022 10:58 am

Got up at 7am and headed to the mechanic shop to drop off my car. Hopefully they can figure out what is going on with it. My friend Dave picked me up and brought me home. Am ready to take a nap! :D

It is really sweltering outside this morning! Very humid! Dewpoint of 78*, humidity at 70%! :o Gonna stay inside all day!

Found out I have Saturday off as well, so 4 days to get stuff done! No excuses! Got no car and too dang hot to go outside.

Have a good day! :D

It was 90° by 9 am today. I have painting class then will head for Curves. Supposed to be at least 6 degrees cooler today, so 110 vs yesterday's 116°. Somebody please locate fall and send it here!

And so it’s another rainy and coolish day today. Sorry to say that after seeing the temps you folks are having out west. I actually pulled out a long sleeved t-shirt this morning to wear today. Velda, if I could I’d love to share this weather with you. I’m just hoping for a couple of days of sunshine if for no other reason than to make my mood improve! Okay, I will quit complaining about the rain since we always need it! My friend and I are going to do a day trip tomorrow since it’s supposed to be a little nicer. She’s scheduled for shoulder surgery next week so she’ll be out of commission for a bit. Sunday she and her DH came and after about 4 and a half hours we finally fixed my toilet upstairs. It also involved changing out the shut off valve too since it was faulty. But it’s finally fixed and I am most grateful for such good people in my life. The outside painting still hasn’t started due to the weather and not sure it’ll get done this year. It may have to wait until next spring. I’m told this is a bad time of year to try to paint the outside and I’m seeing it firsthand. I’m still hoping I can at least get a few of the windows done but guess I’ll have to see how it goes. I sure wish I knew how summer went by so quickly! Hard to believe we’re into September already! I made a pot of ham and green beans the other day and as usual I just can’t seem to make a small batch so some for a couple of meals and freezer for the rest. Soup weather now apparently. Son made chicken soup the other day so brought some home with me. I sure didn’t teach him how to make it since my chicken soup never seemed to turn out well and his is always good! Guess I’ll stick to soups that I can make! And enjoy his when it’s offered! I need to make a couple of phone calls so better get to it. Hope you are all having a good day despite the weather and temps.

I feel so bad for everyone having high temperatures. Barbie, I don't know how you can stand it with the humidity and dew point so high. That type humidity is normal around here but can't imagine what it might be like with the temps you are having. I hope everyone's electricity stays on!!
Sharon, I also find it hard to believe time is passing so quickly! It seems as though summer just started. I would like to have some of your ham and beans. I haven't made any this year as I can't find the type of ham bone I like. The market where I always bought meat closed and I realized how spoiled we were having a small place that sold great meat. I also can't find good sausage for making biscuits and gravy.

Yesterday was my birthday and my DH really made me an especially detailed card this year.

Just got home with my car and after paying $$$ it is still not starting right. The mechanic had put a new starter in and said it was shot. But he heard me trying to start it when I was leaving and came out to look at it. Of course it started right up the second try, which it always does. He is stumped. He said to bring it back tomorrow and he will have another technician look at it, who knows more about electrical stuff to see if that might be causing it. He said they won't charge me again. I sure hope not! So frustrating! :(

Made it to Humbug SP on the southern part of the Oregon coast. It was only a 160 mile drive, but I am very stiff and sore from sitting and driving all day. Usually, I stop a couple of times to get groceries, etc. but not today. Plus my knee is still stiff and sore. Also, I reached into a plastic box in my back storage compartment and scraped my right arm, like I needed something else to complain about. My skin is getting fragile so it bled for a while, but I have a good first-aid kit and bandaged it up right away.

Met two other ladies traveling alone who are staying in this campground. One has a partner, but partner was not feeling well, so she headed out on her own for a couple of weeks.

This campground is near the beach, but I did not want to take the long walk there. I am just here for one night. Also no satellite because the high mountains on each side, but lots of trees and very pretty here. Also, it is cool so no need for AC that I do not have!!

Cute card BJ ... my husband used to make our Christmas cards (he would paint the card then run off what we needed) maybe that's why I"ve not sent cards since...
Hopefully Barbie the new tech will figure it out since the one guy heard it that may help
Judy it's a good thing you don't need your A/C where do you go to next? anywhere soon to fix the A/C?
woke up for a potty run sorta dropped off to sleep weird dream in it I was hanging out in SLC decided to go to my old doll class figured I had time to make a doll before I departed so was busy cleaning the porcelain and remembered that one of mom's dolls that I did for her needed her eyes replaced... just so real guess I miss doing that...
then woke up for real dd took me to the dr's pretty good visit got chided for not going to the dr for 16 years told dd that I remember seeing the dr for cold a couple of times... that may have been the time that I remember trying to use a inhaler and not succeeding. any way I'm doing that correctly did get a nebulizer
of course the meds for it are not covered and I got RX coverage for why??? now to figure out the place to use it at as it says not to use it with a extension cord understood not with a surge power strip but maybe I misunderstood that mom's plug in's are hard to get to so it's sitting on my bed till I figure it out or move it so I can go to bed... as to my visit he says to still use the oxygen as needed for some reason my levels fluctuate even on oxygen so will take a tank with us as he thinks that being at sea level will help.. when I get back he wants me to go a pluminary test as to my blood it's really good.. so no worries there...
what he thinks is that the tubes have narrowed and have mucus so once this gets out of the system he is hoping that it will be better... so put me on a steroid of some sort that is to start tomorrow.. need to take it in the morning 6 then the next day 5 so on hopefully it will be ok although if it bothers me to stop... so sitting here with oxygen on...
mom said tonight if she had her drathers she would stay home I said for someone who didn't fix herself breakfast and I was only gone a couple hours and won't get her own water... she needs to be with someone... probably harsh of me but she isn't eating well with someone here but at least she eats some...
you all have a great day oh and I can't play on the phone while doing 30 mins of treatment yikes not a fun time guess time to pull out the word search
