Made it to Napa after a 10 hour drive. Actually, I did stop at a JCPenney's and got a haircut, but it was a mistake because I soon drove out of the cooler air into the hotter stuff west of San Francisco. My AC is blowing cold air, not out of the regular vents, but out of the defroster vent so very little of it actually hits me, hence, I got hotter and stickier and all the little bits of hair on my neck started itching like crazy. Got stuck in rush hour traffic and did not want to stop in the heat, so I was miserable. Got to my Napa RV spot and checked in about 7 pm. Son was going to pick me up, but I told him I needed a shower first, which felt wonderful. Rinsed all the loose hair from my newly shorn head and neck and got the rest of me much more comfortable, also!! Whew! (I get my hair cut a lot of times at JCPenney's at malls because it is easy to park there.)
Also, was really irritated by the drivers who saw my putting on my turn signal to change lanes as an invitation to speed up and stay slightly ahead of me in the nearby lane so I could not move over. So rude!! If they would just let me move over, they could get past me much more easily.
Also, Anne, I can see making dams out of just earth if they are small ones and not very tall, but I think huge ones like the Oroville Dam need something stronger, like rock and cement!! Did you know how builders of cathedrals in the middle ages knew how tall they could build walls and such??? They kept building them taller until one or two fell down, and then they said, well that was as big as they could build them!!!
