Question about August ?

Postby BirdbyBird » Wed Jul 01, 2009 1:49 pm

I went over to the Get together site and couldn't find one for August but I thought I read something in Soosie's post about one? Is there information out there, and I am just clueless? ....yes I am! since I offically finished up my scoring projects for the season I am again off work and trying to look at the rest of the summer and plan...... So what am I missing here?

Hi Tina, not sure where you are, but yes, there are gtg plans in the works.....

See LEFT COAST GTG for details of August gtg in Bishop CA, Eastern Sierra.....

Also, East coast as you mentioned with Soos, although I don't know the details for that....I'm sure she will be posting....

Options on BOTH coasts!

[size=130]ALL RIGHTY.....have to clear up some things here, about my annual GTG. I hold it in my yard, for a limited number of people, all from ORS (Open Roads Singles) group. It's all boondocking, as I don't have enough water, no sewer, and no electricity for a huge bunch of people!

HOWEVER, as it would be GREAT fun to meet more of you from this group, there are two campgrounds near me that many could stay at, and then we could ALL meet and have some fun! LAKE Placid KOA is one of them, and Buck Pond Campsite (NY State site) has a dump site, no electricity, but clean bathrooms and many other neat things. Buck Pond is very near me, and the KOA, which has complete hookups, is the one I go to for Memorial Day....about 13 miles from here, or less. How about someone from this group organizing a GTG for the same dates I will host the ORS group, which would be Friday, August 14th through Thursday, August [20th. Here is a link to the public part of my website about the GTG...the directions and all would have to get emailed to anyone interested in staying at a nearby campsite, as I have those pages protected on my site for obvious reasons. VT Chris from ORS stayed at the KOA last summer and came over here each day to see us and eat with us and chat, etc.....so I know it isn't too difficult. Parking a huge number of RVs over here would be hard, but if someone had a car to ferry people around, we could do this!

Check it out, think about somebody organizing an August GTG in one of the nearby campsites, and we could have at least one or two GIGUNDOUS meetings!!!
I LOVE the idea---but I would have to bow out of organizing anything but my own deal here. I can help in any way possible, however, if someone wants to take charge for Women RV group??? Let me know whatcha think! Both of those mentioned campgrounds have large meeting areas I am sure we could use by the day/evening, too.

Happy travels!

Thanks for the info and the invite. It would be great fun but I will have to pass. I checked my calendar and have a judging assignment in Miami County that weekend. Now I will research the Sept. GTG..:-)
