Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday

Good Morning, I have been forcing fluids the past couple of days and feel better. For me that amounts to 1620 cc. (54 ounces). It is a struggle.
I am sorry about you Karen and you Sandi losing weight. I have the opposite problem. I love almost everything. Especially ice cream. Right now, I am holding on to my present weight.
I found a site on the computer that I really like for receipts. Suzy at the Mediterranean Dish.
I really like her offerings. Lyn

Good morning Lyn, almost afternoon. Good you ate increasing your water intake! I find filtering my city water, helps water taste better, so I drink more. That was our big surprise, after Mel bought the Berkey filter- that we both began drinking more water without thinking about it. I love my stainless steel insulated cup wirh lid and straw from Costco. It's 750 ml and I drink around 4 a day, sipping all day.

I took my friend Ginger and my new housekeeper to Bryce Canyon yesterday. It was fun but we didn't get everywhere as the rain caught up to us. So then we headed into Panguitch and got there early enough (before 4) to take advantage of lunch prices at a restaurant I suggest often to guests. I think I'll head back for dinner soon, different offerings, but they have more lunch items I want to try. Yum. Then we shopped Family Dollar and the grocery store. I picked up a couple pork chops for tonight's dinner. I thought I slept well last night but am exhausted. Maybe I need to get to bed earlier lol

Hi ladies~~~
Hope you can get your weight up to where you think it should be Karen & Sandi. Weight loss comes with age in my family, mostly from lack of appetite. It's a slippery slope. Doesn't help that the first things alot of doctors say is to lose weight.

I left Lexington yesterday and am now sitting near Indianapolis. I'll move next Monday farther north and will see Eileen (beazle) and her husband Dave for a few days. Then head over to Goshen for a rally. One more stop in IL for dentist, etc, then will head south by way of IN, TN, AL, and TX for yearly stuff. Heading to Tucson for the winter.

That's it from me. Thank goodness the humidity has dropped. Punkin and I are actually enjoying sitting outside again.

Hello ladies!

Lyn, it's so good hearing from you and continue sipping on your water. Karen and Sandi, I hope you both are able to regain your appetite and weight. I try very hard to eat low carb to maintain the weight I lost 5 or 6 years ago. Beth, I'm so happy Ginger is there so the two of you can have fun and get your mind off the hotel. Cheryl, have a good time with Eileen & Dave and be safe on the road. Shirl, I'm so glad you had a good time with your family at the Crab Deck.

Ice was mentioned several days ago and we have two counter top ice machines that we have going. One is in the motorhome and the other is in the casita. I want all my drinks full of ice and icy cold. We are having some landscaping work done in our yard which started yesterday and today they are putting pavers down. We are so excited to have this work done. Continue staying safe.

Hi Lyn at all. Glad to see you posting more often then I’m glad to hear you are drinking more water. I am trying to make sure that I do the same. Being that I have a water softener I don’t particularly care for the taste of my water so I tend to buy bottled water but I might invest in a Brita or something similar. I do like the bottled water though because I can take it outside with me when I’m working in the garage or mowing grass or doing something. And keep some by my bed at night.

Sorry to hear that a few of you are still having health issues and losing weight too. That’s not good. Hopefully you will get that under control. I want to lose weight too but I don’t want to do it that way. I’ve been eating out too much too. But there is just too much good stuff to try. Yesterday I went to a fundraiser spaghetti dinner for our Thunder over Waters festival as they call it. . The dinner was to raise money for the fireworks for next year‘s festival. It’s just a one day festival that they put on down here on Sunday of Labor Day weekend because there is nothing going on around up here on Labor Day weekend. They have a little parade and games for the kids, corn hole tournament and a pretty nice little craft show. Then at dusk they do fireworks and they do a really nice job of it.

Decided yesterday that since I haven’t been anywhere since Memorial Day weekend 2021, that it’s time for a vacation. So I made reservations at one of my favorite resorts in the UP for the end of September. Should be perfect for fall color around that time. Gas prices are not quite a dollar higher per gallon up there than they are down here but at my age you never know what’s gonna happen from one year to the next so you just gotta do it. I am paying about $3.39 right now. Haven’t been in town since Sunday so I don’t know what it is right now. It may have gone down more. We are in to the last peak weeks of tourist season here as schools will be starting after Labor Day and some schools football will be starting next week. So things will start slowing down a bit especially after Labor Day. But people are still making reservations for September into October all over the place. That’s the time when more of the seniors are out.

Chicken breast is in the oven for supper and will finish up a little bit of mashed potatoes and have an ear of fresh sweetcorn. I think I need to invest in an air fryer as I hate to keep the oven on for one little dinky chicken breast. Tomorrow is farmers market day so I will probably pop in there and pick up some fresh goodies of some kind. This is Pete veggie season. I haven’t heard anything from Habitat so far, so I don’t think I will be doing anything with them this weekend. There were about 18 of us working last Saturday at two homes. One crew wireless putting new siding on one home and my group was finishing up cleaning the inside of the one that we had been working on previously as well as removing all furniture and also the skirting on the home. There are all brand new kitchen cabinets waiting to be installed in there now, so I’m thinking that it might be a case of a crew that does that kind of stuff maybe working this weekend.

So I just wanted to say hi and let you know that all is well on this end anyway.

Beth, I am going to be at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon Wed thru Saturday this coming week, and then at Bryce from Sunday to Wednesday morning. Heading to Kodachrome for four days after that. So, how far are you from Bryce? It is only 22 miles from Bryce to Kodachrome, so I might be able to pop over to your place, but not sure how far it is. And is Ginger going to be there also?

I switched my plans because there is a gas station at the entrance to Bryce that does work on trucks, buses, and motorhomes, so I am going to get them to check my wheel bearings and probably pack them. While they do that on Monday morning, I can take the shuttle and wander around the park. I did that last year and it worked out well.

Am at Monument Valley, but just for the night, not for sightseeing. I have been here a couple of times before and Goulding's is an easy overnight on my way to the north rim.

Good evening gals!

Just got home from work. I got a little reprieve in that my manager worked this morning so I didn't have to go in until noon today. But tomorrow I will be working the full 9-6 shift. Then I have 3 days off. My left shoulder is sore and so is my lower back. I think the humidity isn't helping my joints any either.

Am feeling better but my stomach muscles are still a little sore. Still just been eating soup yet, but should be able to eat other stuff now without a problem.

My county has declared a state of emergency for Monkey Pox. Almost 100 cases here in the county, most of which is in Palm Springs area. So far 98% are men and most are gay or trans. I still worry tho since I could still be exposed to it from customers who might have it. I guess it can be spread thru physical contact or from clothing that might be contaminated. I know the chances are very low but still a concern.

I got another 12 pack of Propel water today and remembered to bring both packs home with me, so now I have plenty to drink. I have tried the flavored powder mixes you can use in water but they are so sickeningly sweet, I can't drink them at all. Even if I dilute it with more water.

Lola's ashes are ready to be picked up. I sure miss her...
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

picked up some more sugar and sure jell... tomorrow I guess I will make raspberry jam the freezer type I also need to do some laundry... can't find some of moms PJ's bottom's and other tops... problem is I can't remember what the tops look like for the bottoms she has on... even asked my sister in law and she can't remember what they look like... so asked if by any chance they got mixed up with her dd's she said she washed mom's separately so she didn't think so.... I was confused as to why she would wash things separately... I don't  in fact if mom saw what I mix together she would have a major fit... or at least a few years ago she would have...
Anne awhile ago I looked at a video and thought that is what Shirl needs it was when we were talking gardening... in the video it showed a shade cloth (I'm not sure if that was the correct word but) it was used to shade the plants from too much sun I know that there is still heat to contend with but it might be good to look into...
Sue I think you would really enjoy the A/F make sure you have space for it on your counter the space between the cupboards and the counter is too low so mine won't fit ... if it did I think I would use it more but I love baked potatoes in it... I did salmon in it was so yummy it's great for reheat like fries pizza I actually prefer heated in the A/F than the fresh pizza  mine was gifted to me by my dd who is a pampered chef consultant so it's a PC but they come in in all sorts of stores and all sorts of prices...
mine has racks instead of the basket... although mine has a basket I've yet to use... I need to one day
you all have a good day

You need to be careful not to drink too much water, but don’t forget that you can add lemon juice to water. I make lemonade then water it down with ice. I also buy real grape juice and the original cranberry juice and water it down with a lot of ice. This makes drinking water less boring. I am careful not to get juice that is advertised as 100% juice but contains a lot of apple juice. You don’t want too much sugar which is why I put a lot of ice in it.

Soup and broth count toward water intake also. Adding water makes it less salty if that bothers you. And because of my kidney stones I also take a frozen bottle of water to bed and put it on the little shelf I have. Urologist once told me he thought we form stones at night because we are more dehydrated then.
