Splooting Friday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Splooting Friday!

Yes, splooting! When it is so hot, you just have to sploot! That is what squirrels are doing in NYC due to the heat! They lay flat on the ground with their legs splayed out in order to keep a little cooler. Sounds like a good idea to me! An old friend of mine's granddaughter told her that you can tell how hot it is by how long the cat is! So true!

Got very little done yesterday other than doing a haircut in the morning. Just watched videos most of the day. I need to do something a little more productive today tho.

Didn't see the big moon last night since it was overcast here.

Nothing new with Romeow. He is just being his crazy kitten/cat self.

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

It's warm, in 80's, on it's way up! Any "splooting" I do will be in privacy of my bedroom, on my bed, after a shower, AC on and ceiling fan blowing a good breeze!
I'm about to head to Curves to workout and visit with my friends. On way home, I'll stop for a pack of root beer. Son is in charge of baking our freezer pizzas tonight, while I make salad. I finally decided to try one of the gluten free, low carb frozen pizzas from grocery store. Have to see if it was worth the $11. Trying to teach (disabled) son to put together meals for us, without calling for delivery or me driving to take out. Next will be teaching him to make a salad.
Most of mechanical stuff on Mels much loved Toyota pickup, is done. Next up, having the woman who did my dining room chairs come estimate for reupholstering the seats for truck, which were worn out years ago and Mel threw an old lab coat on seat so he wasn't directly on the foam! Upholstery was put on at factory in 1986! Guess its time! While she works on seats, Sean will put new seals on windows and joint between original cab and added crew section. Learned this truck is actually light enough that even my LTV could easily tow it! Haven't decided on that, but, it's a stick shift so easy to set up with right hitch/brakes. Will consult with you experienced at towing cars, before I do!
I'm off to my day. Have a good start to weekend !
By the way, between NAC and Alpha Lipoic Acid, all but intermittent fatigue have greatly improved and I got at least 3 days this week without needing a nap in afternoon. Yesterday was not one- I fell asleep for short while in morning and again late afternoon, but last night slept an unbelievable 8 hours! Just unheard of for me.

Much nicer weather since the humidity has dropped. Suppose to continue through the week end. Finally getting together with family on Sunday at the crab deck. Will be so nice to breathe fresh air. Spent another 3 hours dealing with Verizon, attempting to transfer my phone number. I lost so have spent the afternoon notifying people of new phone number and sulking. Verizon said I could keep the number if I stayed with them but I don’t deal with bullies. Agent told me to have a nice day and I didn’t trust myself to rely. It sounds like it is very expensive to live in California. I guess we all make sacrifices for our choice in places to live. Going to wait until the traffic outside dies down and will enjoy a little cooler air. Be safe

Shirl, try googling, does a phone company have to transfer my number/release my number? I believe they do!
I'm glistening, just off treadmill (2 miles) and headed to shower!

I did google and read they they legally need to transfer my number. But agent said my account came up reading error and it would not allow her to transfer my number. The StraightvTalk agent was on the call in the back ground and offered a suggestion, Verizon said she would ask her supervisor, was gone 5 seconds and said it was not possible. The whole thing was BS but little me is not taking on Verizon. Welcome to corporate America. I will sulk until Sunday, then have a frozen margarita, spend time with family and 3 month old great grandson. Spent enough of my valuable time on Verizon.

I'm so tired. Thought I posted last night but didn't. I finally was able to get out of here with my friend Ginger last night.... First time since the motel opened that I was out and evening! We went to the rodeo near Bryce Canyon. It was a lot of fun. Today the motel keeper me busy, but time flew because Ginger hung out and kept me talking and laughing. I sent her to her room (literally) at 8:30 lol. One room hadn't checked in yet and I put a note and map on the office door for them. Just before 10 I checked and they arrived and found their room so now I'm in bed and after I send this I'll try to head directly to Dreamland.

I like my water ice cold. But don't have a need for an ice maker. I keep water in my fridge and also in the office fridge. In the office I sometimes add ice too. All my water goes through two Brita filters and always tastes the same. Water here is so hard. Harder than I think anywhere else I've been. Arizona water can be bad so I often buy gallons while there because it's so cheap from the kiosks.

Shirl, I'm furious that they aren't letting you port your number. But I'm glad you have the good fight but also glad that you're accepting changing your number to avoid letting it make you sick.

So much I wish I could remember that I've wanted to comment on but I'm having trouble keeping my eyes open. Night all.

I really need to not pick up the phone and FB until I get something done... I did put the last coat of poly on the box... now I need to finish it up and find some place for the stuff that I've collected to work on this project then I knotted knots it doesn't take long to get a sore shoulder but I'm about 3/4 through on one side...
the mice situation got really bad last night...although one was captured... I am just really tired of it... I read were they don't like certain smells so going to see if I can at least get them out of the bedroom that I'm in just need to find the oils two places I called today didn't carry them..
perhaps the grocery store but rather doubt it...
just heard that one of my nieces was hurt in a jet ski accident not sure when it happened... hopefully she will recover quickly my brother said that she will be in the hospital for a few days but expected full healing... just feel bad for her... and am sure that my brother is worried... not sure when the accident happened if it was today or ??? think when brother sent out the message he forgot that part...
so accomplished nothing of importance today but no side effects of the shot!!! yea!!!
Velda have you ever thought of solar panels on your house?? my sister had them installed on her house over a year ago (the company forwarned her that she wouldn't see a decrease for a year it made sense when she said it but too long ago to remember) but I did remember to ask her earlier in the summer after they had started using A/C if she had seen a big difference she just paid 9 dollars for electricity in Vegas!!
you all have a good day

Sheila, I have had my house evaluated and was told by several companies that due to way house faces plus large trees, I'd never even come close to having it be financially viable.
Also , as I said, this is a combined bill amd solar won't help the big bill for garbage, the big increase in water cost, or the big increase in sewer fees.

Sheila - You can get the oils in Walmart and a lot of other places. Look in the candle dept. I spray them on cotton balls and place them in corners of each shelf in my cabinets. They are not diluted, so a little goes a long way. You could probably order a most scents from Walmart.com if you can't get to a box store. Another thought: You know those awfully strong cinnamon scented pine cones they sell everywhere at holiday time in a mesh bag? You can smell them a mile away! I scattered them around in my outside sheds and (knock, knock) haven't had a mouse yet. The scent disappears quite rapidly, tho, so don't know how long that works.

Shirl - I can't believe the problem you've had with Verizon! My new phone provider just somehow transferred all our phones (all 5 of us). Sorry you have to go through the hassle of changing phone numbers everywhere.

Beth - Glad you got some time with your friend, even if you were tired. How do you filter your water through two Brita filters? Fill one pitcher then pour it through another? Last night I had son install a new filter in the faucet Brita, thinking perhaps the one we were using was clogged. Same tiny stream of water. Took forever to fill the coffeepot. Since there are 3 of us, we go through a lot of water. Gonna go out this morning and see what other options are available (Walmart, Home Depot, etc)

Darn - who did I forget? Oh, yeah, the splayed squirrel pic is adorable. We don't seem to have bushy tailed squirrels around here - just ground squirrels. Whenever I camped where there were REAL squirrels it was a treat to watch them. One of the cities back where I'm from had only black squirrels and when we camped in Bowling Green the squirrels there were all snow white. Both had nice, full bushy tails. Ground squirrels not so nice.

Evie, I have a Brita filter directly connected to my kitchen faucet and also the pitcher. So I turn the faucet to run through the filter and fill the pitcher. Might be redundant but makes me feel fine about drinking my water even when using my RV water tank. And, yes, it's slow filling but I keep my Brita pitcher full and have two quart containers I keep full... Filling while doing other things so not when needed. A whole house water filter might work better for you but I'm so used to this it's no biggie lol. Sheila, when not running through the filter I have normal water pressure.
