Sunshine Thursday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunshine Thursday

Good Morning on this beautiful sunny morning. 64°. Going to be a great day. Yesterday was cloudy and a little humid from the rain we had during the night. We were under a Level one severe storm possibility, but other than the thunderstorm that came through around 3 a.m., all we had was an occasional brief shower on and off during the day. The big storms and rain eered to the south east so they slipped below us. But we did get a good soaking from that storm. It is the first thunderstorm that we have had since the tornado hit in May with the exception of one little one one day. Now we are in for a period of nice weather for a couple of days and maybe some rain on Saturday night into Sunday. Going to get a little warm starting tomorrow and near 90 by Saturday which I am not looking forward a to, because I am going with a work group (Habitat) back to the mobile home Park to do some more work on Saturday. But we will be starting at 8 AM and working until one, so we will be in the cooler morning air for a while. Sometimes depending upon how many people show up we aren’t even there that long. Lunch is going to be provided and they will have plenty of water for us too. More yard cleanup and debris removal from home.

Speaking of military planes, I live about 7 miles or so by the way the crow flies from a air to ground range that’s part of the Camp Grayling training facility. So hearing in military planes bombing around here, is pretty much a norm especially in the summer. But it is not all the time. They just concluded a big military operation called Northern Strike. That is a very large thing involving National Guard troops from around the country and also even foreign countries especially Latvia. They practice together so that they can learn how to work together and it can get very intense some days. It sounds like an all out war back there sometimes. The camp has other ranges scattered around too, for small arms fire and various other things. But they are away from here so we don’t hear them. I think they are spread out over something like 146,000 acres. But the planes are very strictly controlled and they are not allowed to be flying over where I am or outside of the immediate range area. But that doesn’t apply to the helicopters and other types of aircraft sometimes.

But speaking of how far off the ground they fly or water for that matters. Way back and I don’t even remember when that happened, Some pilot was flying back from a training session in the upper peninsula with a big bomber and decided it would be fun to fly “under” the Mackinac Bridge. That is definitely a no no . It is illegal and is not allowed under any circumstances. Well, he did his maneuver just inches above the water and when his superiors found out about it, needless to say he wasn’t flying anymore. That was a very dangerous stunt because he could have accidentally hit a prop on the water and thrown on his plane right out of control or he could’ve accidentally hit some piece of the bridge with the wide wing span.

Getting a bit of a late start here this morning because I slept in past 8 o’clock which is rare for me. But Piper woke me up when the storm came through early yesterday morning so I didn’t get back to sleep u til after it was over. They might have to run down to the convenience store down here in Waters to get a paper for my neighbors husband while she is taking her brother back home downstate. Just finished my breakfast and now I am going to get cleaned up and head for the garage and paint the two by fours that I have cut out to stick in the ground to mount my picket fence on that I am doing. I am hoping I can get it in today. I will send you some pictures of it after I get it all finished. While the paint is drying, I’m going to come back in here and vacuum the house. And probably put some primer on the other side of my house hanger project that’s in the basement right now. I also have a hose hanger to replace on the back of the house. Might go around and pick up some small sticks and stuff around the yard too.

Sandi, congrats on the new Tesla and have fun. I decided that I am keeping my truck for a while since it doesn’t have all the fancy tech stuff on it that the new cars have these days, so I can put off trying to figure out how to work all that junk for a while longer. I don’t even use some of what I got on the truck.

Guess I had better get a move on here. Have a great day everybody.

Morning Sue and All, weather is the same. It’s sad but I have to go back a few days to read What I post so I don’t repeat myself. You know like some old person. Lol. I had called local company bring broadband to my brothers street to get some answers. I was gearing up to convince my brother he needed the internet. Company called back that he had already signed up. I received the home phone device and hope I have it hooked up correctly. Assembled all the necessary information needed to activate. Wish me luck. Be safe

It's only 86 so far this morning and looks like it's clouding up to rain again. I talked to my brother in Canada last night and he is complaining about all the rain they are getting. Today is the day to put the trash cans out for tomorrow's pick up. I should work on filling one up.

Has anyone seen clothing dye for sale anywhere? I was wondering what jeans would look like if I used navy dye on them. I don't know why they have to sell jeans with big faded areas or holes. I looked at Walmart and one of the grocery stores and didn't see any dye.

Garbage gut is sick again. She will have a normal BM and then diarrhea. I'm glad I froze some of the ground meat and rice so I can just heat one up in the microwave. I changed her food to one of the lamb and rice ones. It has three or four different chunks in it and there is one she picks out and puts on the floor. She will eventually eat it if she get desperate or I will throw it away.

Shirl, good luck with setting up your device. I finally got both my cameras working. The batteries are suppose to last 2 years but I bet they don't. The cats set them off all the time. They are advertising a camera shaped like a light bulb that you can screw into an outside light. I will have to read the reviews on that.

Good morning. Nice weather today 86. But Saturday and Sunday will be in the 90's.

Not much on my agenda as usual. I am getting all my garbage together also as he comes tomorrow. I dont have alot and I never fill up my can but like getting rid of all of it.

Martha have you tried giving Sugar probiotics. My previous dog always had diarrhea on and off so the vet said to give her Forti Flora. Just sprinkle it on her food and she would gobble it up. It helped tremendously. I get it on Amazon and I have some here now just in case Emma gets sick. Works great for diarrhea. You can give it every day or just for a few days while they are sick.

Just laying in bed with Romeow. He just came over for a cuddle session. :D Love that!

Sue, reading your post made me exhausted! Where do you get all your energy??

It is overcast this morning so I should be out working on the carport. Altho it is already 93 with a heat index of 98* Ugh! I would rather it was 110 with no humidity. I hate to sweat!

I used to live near Camp Pendleton (about 20 miles away) and would occasionally hear them practicing with bombs there. I can't imagine living right outside of that area!

I have some phone calls to make for appointments, etc. One call will be to State Farm. I got a letter from them yesterday saying my 2009 Jeep's MN license is overdue and I need to renew it right away! This Jeep has never even been in Minnesota! None of my other Jeeps were a 2009. My current Jeep registration isn't due until December and is current. Might be a scam, so I will call my agent and find out what the deal is.

I need to find some breakfast here too, so will wish you all a good day, and stay cool!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good afternoon from hot dry South Dakota. Yes, I remembered to say Rabbits shortly after midnight…hope it helps because it certainly didn’t last month. Tuesday it was 108 and supposed to be the same tomorrow. We get thunder and lightning but no rain. Crops are drying up. When I watch the news and see flooding, I think please God send some of that our way. Allergy season is hitting early so I’m spending a lot of time in the house. Not that I’m getting much accomplished. I still do adult daycare (bartend) a few afternoons a month. DIL taught summer school, so I had the grands on and off. I’ve been to the town swimming pool more than I have in the last 30.

Shirl, I tried putting in earrings when I was going to a wedding in June. My holes have grown shut. Judy, you need to tell your son that you are a bitch (Babe. In. Total. Control. (of) Herself.) and you will continue to do what you want for as long as you want. Martha, I remember the Gibson stores, when they closed in this area Alco stores occupied most of the buildings. Now Alco has closed. Alice, it really sucks that you didn’t get your normal route. If I remember correctly, you had several special needs children on your route. A driver change could be very difficult for them. Irmi, you and Steve a certainly enjoying your retirement! Beth, hope the new housekeeper pans out. The rally starts this weekend, makes me think of you. When I do sit on the patio, I certainly haven’t seen many bikes on the highway. Tina, if you decide to travel, you’re parking space is still open. Lyn, every time I watch Big Band Theory and they mention Comic Con, I think of you. Karen and Velda, hope those long-term symptoms go away. Sandi, hope that Tesla shows up early, I’m sure you can’t wait. Barbie, Romeow is cute. Sue and Sharon, you’re always busy…you make me tired! I’m sure I have forgotten someone….sorry.

Have a good day!

you forgot me Pat !!! sounds like you have had a busy summer... I'm with you sure wish that the rains they are getting back in the East would make it here (to the West)
it was a run around day... had to get another paint brush so I can work on that treasure box... although it will be a few weeks before the kids get back up here unfortunately not long enough so I can give them the afghan to take to my granddaughter....but doubt it will be done unless they give me another week
went to the bank to deposit a check and the gal standing behind me was the daughter of an old neighbor she was close in age to my sister... they were good friends... so made time go faster visiting and catching up... would have gone through the drive through but it is closed on Tues and Thurs... guess it's due to shortage in employee's it effects all areas...
on to the store to get grapefruit segments oops none nada at all was so disappointed really enjoy them but did get mom's antacid and some frozen pea's and corn prefer the petite to the other's and they had it yea but I don't like a lot of stuff there and it's more expensive so out to Smith's for the majority of groceries although guess I wasn't in the mood to shop as I didn't get lots
should have done laundry but knees were doing the stairs so tomorrow regardless and have to take mom to get her hearing checked reminded her of it and she said but I thought I did well no reminded her that they discovered wax and couldn't
I also finally made an appointment to get the booster... haven't done that and decided that I should do so before the cruise...
I'm with you Shirl it's so easy to forget what one posts from day to day and sometimes the day is just so the same they do sound the same...
and now I am trying to remember what all was said Glad that your kitty forgave you Barbie but the vet might be a deal breaker :?
Sue you keep so busy
you all take care

Didn't get too much accomplished other than a few phone calls. I made the vet appointment but it turns out I have to reschedule it because I work that day. Will do that tomorrow. I also called State Farm and I guess the letter was referring to my driver's license. They still had my MN license in my file from when I first moved out here. So I gave them my CA license number. Also made an appointment for my mammogram that I have put off for a few years  .

Here is a link to one of the treatments that Linda is considering for her long Covid symptoms... https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/medica ... 8deb34dba6

It stayed cloudy all day with storms in the mountains all around the valley here but no rain here. I pretty much spent the day watching YouTube videos, and cuddling and playing with Romeow. Not a bad way to spend the day.
Will try to get something productive done tomorrow... One more day off and then I work 5 days in a row!

Have a good night!
