Lenora: I agree. Get out there and enjoy yourself. You may be dead and gone by the time your investments recover!!! At least that's what I've been telling myself. I've worked out our budget for full-timing and would be glad to share it with you. PM me if you are interested in seeing it. When I get time, I plan to attach it to my blog. I am currently adding an attachment to my blog that shows all the expenses we are encountering as we get the Phaeton ready for full-timing (new TV's, electronic stuff, etc.)

Leslie: Good to hear from you. You have been pretty quiet (i.e. busy) since we met at the Class B Rally in Ohio. Sounds to me like you need to buy an inverter for your "B" if you don't have one. For instance, when I stop at a Walmart for the night, I don't run the generator but I plug my HDTV and my computer into the inverter and everything works just fine. The inverter runs off the coach battery, same as the lights. I usually do that for at least 2 hours at the end of the day. The coach battery will re-charge the next day when you drive. Also, you can run your laptop of its battery for quite awhile and then use the inverter. PM me if you have any questions. Loved the update about your trip to Vermont. Glad you are enjoying the "B".

I was never very good at making a budget but once I retired I realized that I had to get serious b/c there would be no rescuing with additional funds....the retirement amount was pretty set and I have no investments, etc. The best thing I can suggest from experience is to sit down and start tracking everything you are spending on anything. You can begin to built a budget based on estimated costs and spending history. There will always be surprises but it is a beginning! The RV Dreamers site is very complete in giving their details! Good luck and good hunting!
