It’s Friday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It’s Friday

Postby Othersharon » Fri Jul 29, 2022 12:34 pm

Afternoon already for me. I’ve gotten a bit of a late start on the day, at least later then my normal! Yesterday was an off and on rain day and this afternoon looks to be the same. Then the heat moves back in for the next week. The last couple of days have been nice temperature wise but humidity is high. I’ve just spent the week mostly catching up on little thing here in the house so nothing much to talk about. Beth, hoping everything works out with the new help so you can maybe take some time the relax a bit. Judy, sure will be a good thing if you can get the work done on your rig. Barbie, loving your pictures of your new roommate and hearing how he’s settling in to his new home. He’s a lucky kitty. Carol, my niece is dealing with insurance problems right now for a surgery they had scheduled for the first part of July. And so far no resolution. It’s been a real nightmare for them. That’s about all I can offer today! Love reading about everyone’s day so jump on in! Fridays aren’t the best time to go to the store but I need a couple of things so better get to it. Hope you all are having a good day.

Good morning ladies
Went to work and did my route bid and took care of those particular things we do, drug test, uniforms, etc. So, I'm not a happy camper. A driver ahead of me took my kids I've had for 5 years ! Really feeling bent out of shape over it. Nothing I can do, we pick by seniority. Eventually I will get over it. That's all I'm gonna say.
Ya'll have a good day, be safe.

Hi ladies~~~
Late afternoon here in central West Virginia. Sharon I feel your pain its been raining all week here, on and off, but the humidity has been high. Not alot of sightseeing to do around here, so I'm doing something every other day.

Heading closer to Charleston on Monday, so hopefully the weather will improve. Here's hoping anyway.

Alice sorry you didn't get the route and kids you wanted.

That's my Itty bitty today. Have a good evening ladies. And happy birthday Martha!

Good Afternoon, It's fairly nice here today but the weather people just have to remind us the heat is returning the middle of next week. I wish they would just keep it to themselves! Sharon I'm glad you are having a bit of a reprieve from the heat. Ava I'm sorry you lost your route and the kids you were familiar with, now you will have to train a new group.
Although the weather is nice here there isn't much to do. The Covid rates are high and no one seems to be concerned or else they are just over the whole situation. I did go to coffee Tuesday with a couple of friends and usually there are very few there but for some reason there were more people than I was comfortable with. Another friend is in town, she had just got back from Switzerland and had also stopped to visit people in NC. She called and wanted to know if I would be comfortable getting together and then said she taken a Covid test and it was negative so she thought she was fine. When she got to part where she said she had just a regular cold and sore throat I said umm no! I told her she should do another test but she said she didn't think she needed one. She is a nurse but guess she has joined the 'over it' group.
I looked up recipes for cooking in foil packets but that was as far as I ventured. I think I am 'over' cooking
Hi Cheryl you slipped in while I was typing. I hope the weather improves for you.

Dumped my tanks this morning and everything worked OK, but that does not mean I will not have to continue using the plunger to get the water to go down into the shower. I am going to get CW to look at grey problem after they check and lubricate my wheel bearings.

Also ran to only big grocery store in town and found a McDonalds next to it! Amazing how you miss fast food after a while. I only had a few groceries to pick up, but a couple items like paper towel were crucial. After I got groceries and tossed them into RV, I walked over to McDs and got a crispy chicken sandwich with extra pickles. Tasted really good.

I have been reading a book I bought at the national park. It is by Isabella L. Bird and is titled A Lady's Life in the Rocky Mountains. She was an English lady who had visited the Hawaiian Islands (Sandwich Islands at the time) and was headed back to England via train. All of this was in 1875 at the age of 44. She traveled alone but was an excellent horsewoman, so she got off the train for a few days in Truckee, CA, and rode by herself to Lake Tahoe and then to Donner Pass. Later she got back on the train and got off at Greeley, rented a horse, and rode to several places in the area, including climbing with a guide to the top of Long's Peak in what is now Rocky Mountain National Park. She also spent several days riding all day on horseback helping round up cattle! She writes about staying in boarding houses and cabins with families, as well as sleeping in the snow and riding rented horses to Denver, Colorado Springs, and finally returning to the train in Greeley. Here is an article about her--https://www.visitestespark.com/blog/post/seven-reasons-isabella-bird-should-be-your-new-role-model/

I'm going to get her book about her travels in Hawaii.

Judy, that sounds like an interesting book. Hope Camping World can fix your problems.

Ava, sorry you didn't get the route you wanted.

My son brought my car back so took him back to Lafayette. There were a couple of places I wanted to stop in Lafayette but it started storming and I didn't feel like getting wet so came home.

Barbie, I saw your post on Facebook about apologizing to your car for the bad roads. On the way to Lafayette we passed a lot with some new vans and I told my son that I wanted one of those. I started telling him all the things that have happened to my old van that I gave my sister. She has wrecked it at least twice. I told him that when I see my van I apologize to it for all that has happened to it. My son told me I was weird.
