Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday, July 25

Good afternoon all. I’m getting to this late but it’s been a crazy day. I decided yesterday afternoon to rip out the carpet I had in my kitchen. I had it so the pups could walk on it. They didn’t do well on bare floors especially when they got older. It needed to be gone. What I didn’t consider was the backing on it sticking to the floor. Turned into a very late night of scraping it up and the worst part was moving the frig. I think I’ve lost strength since I last moved it which was a long time ago! So the job is done and the kitchen is back together again and I’m sore from all the up and down and from crawling on the floor scraping. Must admit it looks much better now. I think I only got about 4 hours sleep so I’m kinda dragging today. Apparently our heat has broken with it only in the low 80’s today plus we got rain storm this morning. Thunder and all! Hope everyone is having a good day. Stay healthy and stay safe.

Your heat must have come my way we are in the low 100s....yuck. Well I can just stay in and enjoy the AC. I could never have done what you did removing that carpet. First of all, no strength, second if I got down I couildnt get up so Kudos to you.

Saw my new PA today. Really liked her. She heard a few missed beats so she did an EKG..alll normal. Then after taking an extensive history sent me to get a chest xray and labs drawn. She thinks this is long haul covid but doesnt want the diagnosis to mask anything else it might be. She wanted to make sure I agreed with her and of course I did. So she will call me tomorrow with the results.

Now home drinking lots of water as I didnt have any there for 2 hours so my throat was really dry. Then going to make a hot dog for lunch. Then maybe a nap.

Hi Sharon and all that check in!

Sharon, last summer when we were emptying our house to sell, neither of us realized how heavy every piece of furniture had become. We hired a few young guys to help us because we couldn't do everything we thought we could. I'll bet your kitchen looks nice now. Judy, I hope you're feeling better since your fall. Barbie, I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures of Romeow. Sheila, I loved the picture of you and your friend. Beth, I'm so glad your bad housekeeper is gone...that has to be a relief. Shirl, I hope your weather cools off and that the humidity goes down as well. Cheryl, I'm enjoying your journey on the road. Carol, I would be upset, too, if our insurance company wouldn't allow a very necessary test. A friend from church who is going through chemo told me the same thing about having blood work done. Anne, Velda, Carol, Barbie, Karen, Lyn and I'm not sure who I missed on the west coast, I hope you get cooler temps also.

We are in the low to mid 90's everyday and there have been afternoon thundershowers all around us, but somehow they are missing us. We can see the showers in the sky from where we live, but we're not getting the rain. The Villages in FL, which is the largest retirement community in the country, is expanding big time. We went to Wildwood today and from the road we were traveling on, probably saw a couple hundred new homes since our last trip there a few weeks ago. It's crazy how quickly they go up. They're made of slabs of concrete since they're hurricane proof and they put these things together like a puzzle.

It's only 85 today but it's been raining off and on all day and there's a lot more on the radar. I need to mow. I decided to go to town and it started raining. My windshield wiper blades were falling apart so I went straight to Auto Zone. There was a break in the rain so the guy put the wiper blades on for me. I am never sure what kind of service I'm going to get at Auto Zone. One time I bought 2 batteries and they put them on the counter and expected me to take them. I got gas at Walmart and it's down to $3.55.

Sharon, taking up the carpet sounds like a lot of work. I don't do well on my hands and knees. I think about all the times when I was a kid crawling around on my hands and knees. It's not so much fun now. I really like that kneeling bench I ordered to put in the motorhome. I should order another one for the house. I had an 18" folding stool I kept in the bathroom to reach the top of the linen closet. It has disappeared and I don't have a clue what I did with it. I'm sure when I find it I'll remember what I was doing.

First, congrats to Sharon for what must have been very hard work but it's done. And more congrats to Karen for a good visit with a new PA. Irmi, unfortunately the bad housekeeper is still causing problems and now my motel person who works my days off and her husband have given notice. So they'll be gone the end of this week. I've made her job easier and easier (she's emotional and was supposed to be able to backup very occasionally in housekeeping... He suddenly developed bad arthritis in both hands and can't do most anything). But I liked her and would have worked with her. Then this morning, she was fine, an hour later I walked in after I got word the bad housekeeper had been in the office and she started crying and gave notice. No idea what set her off, but figure that housekeeper had something to do with it. So I'm back looking for help. Crazy. Oh, then I was taking quarters and ones to the bank for bigger bills. Ha. Today is a Utah holiday. Banks in Utah closed. I definitely didn't expect that. So I'll go back tomorrow

I'm not going to let this give me an ulcer. Not worth it but I sure hope I can find help before August 10th when my friend Ginger arrives for a visit. We'll manage whatever happens but if like us to be able to get out and about at least a couple times.

Thanks for listening to me vent. I'm trying to not post about all this, but I definitely appreciate you letting me.

Martha you snuck in. And I was happy to see gas
here back under $5. Love your prices!

Gosh Sharon, hard work but quite an accomplishment. I was noticing earlier this spring true that I didn’t have as much strength for lifting stuff that I had before, especially my 5 gallon gas can. But then I got busy doing things outside and after I started helping with some of the tornado cleanup, I have found that my strength is returning and now I can pick up heavy stuff without much of an issue at all. I just needed that exercise per se I guess. I have been trying to keep moving that heavier stuff to get my muscles back in shape. Now if I could get the rest of the body to follow suit I would be OK. But first I have to stop eatingg

Hopefully maybe I can send you gals in the East, some cooler weather as we are now below normal in temps. We are only made it to about 70° today. But it is supposed to get warm again by the Weeknd

I can tell it’s getting time for midterm elections, because the political advertisements are hitting hot and heavy. We have a primary coming up on August 2nd.

Carol I agree with the other ones, that it’s crazy that your insurance company will not cover that test. Hopefully somebody will figure something out.

Finally finished the last raccoon and delivered it to the friends house this afternoon. They love it. Had an appointment in town this morning and then did a bit of grocery shopping. Check my iPad down to a neighbor and made a video of the lake across the road from me for a lady who used to live up here and is now in Florida. She hasn’t seen this lake since it was developed. It was all worth it when she left in 1964. She will be quite surprised to see the changes. Also mowed my grass in the front and took the dogs for a walk. We will be heading out in a little while for the evening walk. But right now it’s up to get the dishes done.

Gosh Beth, one thing seems to lead into another. Wonder what the bad housekeeper was doing at the office anyway since she turned in her keys and everything. Best of luck I’m trying to get some new help. I have a feeling that when your time is up later this fall you will be saying goodbye for good for that job. I remember that you still have that one waiting for you up in Maine which probably would be a great place to be

Karen, good that your doctor is looking at all possibilities. One lesson i learned about 20 years ago when I had abdominal pains after knee replacement, that you can have TWO things wrong with you! My doctor diagnosed my abdominal pain as constipation because that is a very common thing after surgery. In reality, I had acute pancreatitis, which could have caused organ damage or killed me because they picked the most common and easiest diagnosis! So you could have Long Covid and something else, and it is good he is eliminating the "something else"!!

I have also had problems with strength, especially in my legs, mostly for the last couple of years. It has been made worse with my left shoulder hurting from arthritis. And with my bruised knee from my fall, I also must have tried to catch myself because both of my shoulders are now sore. So, getting into my rig means I have to step up with my left leg first, which is not natural for me, and then pull myself up with both arms, one on the steering wheel and the other on the door arm rest. I really need to work on strength training on my legs. I did a lot of walking on my trip in the UK, but while it helped with my stamina, it really did not make my legs stronger. Need to work on stairs and other things for those muscles.

It is cool here, but I am at 8,300 feet, so my generator is not working well. I am also getting out of breath at times, especially earlier today at the RMNP Alpine Visitor Center at almost 12,000 feet.

It was really busy at work today. Did more haircuts today than the last 3 days combined! Good tips too.

There were dark storm clouds over the mountains all day but nothing coming this way. Palm Springs may have gotten some rain but they are in the northwest corner of the valley and can get some residual rain left over from what comes over the mountains. It never makes it down this way.

Just hanging out tonight with my buddy. :D

I really need to look to make sure that I post successfully  last night I didn't although I did post but probably at the same time as someone else... :( all I know is that I'm not there although I was on...
Irmi are you referring to the picture on FB? I think that was a memory of past years as it is Chris (Red) I popped in to wish her happy birthday and here was this picture of us... other than that not sure what picture you are referring too..
Judy I had a thought the other day when you were talking about wanting a kitty but afraid of heat while at museums couldn't you leave the generator on and there fore have A/C? I really don't know as I don't have that ability... A/C is too heavy for generator... I did leave Shadow in the trailer when it was parked and open didn't see that it was too hot for him I always when hot left the windows open... but when I was there it never got overly hot...I wouldn't do it if the slides where in and parked in a parking lot though...
I am still shocked that the insurance didn't cover Bill's procedure I am really hoping that something worked out so he could have it...
Beth that is weird why did she think she could go into the office after quitting... I hope that you can find suitable workers soon...
The holiday is state wide and yes closes all government and small business (usually) not the national business though .... it's to honor the pioneer's coming into the Salt Lake Valley believe in 1847... with it being on Sunday this year it would be honored on Monday usually means lots of visitors to everywhere... we always got a lot up here especially when connected to a weekend my family came later
tomorrow we go and get the ear wax removed and a trip to the post office to show proof that Mom is eligible for free post box... need to go and get a brush the one I was using I guess I didn't clean it overly well and it's a stiff brush :o
my daughter in law posted a picture of a new pet in the home... they have two dogs... now a little white kitty...also have two turtles... the kittie can't remember the name is so cute and I was totally surprised...
you all have a good day hopefully I will make sure this posts right

Darling picture of Romeow. I get tired just reading about all the work you gals do! We older oldies have no stamina, no muscles, and no breath. Bravo for you youngsters! Think this applies to me: I know there are people my age who climb mountains and hike trails. I'm just happy when I can put one leg into my underwear without loosing my balance!
