Sunday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Sun Jul 24, 2022 9:18 am

Morning all. Just a quick hello before I head to church. Going later today, couldn’t get moving earlier this morning. Cloudy and 67°here this morning. Nice breeze blowing and a few rain showers around. It got up to 90 here yesterday but fortunately the humidity stayed down so it wasn’t too bad if you were not in the sun. But that’s behind us now. Back into the 70s this week

Not sure what is on my agenda for today but I know I am going to complete the raccoon that I was doing yesterday. We had a really nice POA meeting followed by a picnic afterwards and everybody was mingling with everybody. Had enough food to feed an army.

Another call out for volunteers for Habitat has come up, but I haven’t signed up as of yet. It’s for next week Saturday.

I hope that all of you have a wonderful Sunday today and that those who need rain or get your rain. Time to get ready to head out the door.

Good morning ladies
Looking like a few sprinkles coming in. I certainly hope so. All my chores are done and I'm planning on occupying the recliner watching heartland until noon. After that I will rerun a movie out of my DVD collection. I'm due to buy a new movie but I usually check the goodwill first. Keeping my eyes open for Lion of the Desert, a true story.
Today is son's birthday, he is 49. Left him a text and I hope he sees it. I miss being able to see him but I don't know where he is other than out in the desert north of town in an old worn out pace arrow.
Have a good day ladies, be safe.

Good morning to all, at least it will be cooler today - only 104 and we might get some drops of rain and wind. Tomorrow we will have a better chance of rain. I hope. I finished my third Christmas tree wall hanging, now I want to go to Hobby Lobby or Joann's to see if I can find something to "trim" them with. Probably will start on a fourth one today. Spent most of yesterday with a stomach and just sitting and watching NASCAR and Hallmark movies on TV. Today feel fine.
At four o'clock Friday afternoon we got call from doctor's office that Bill's CAT scan procedure had been denied by insurance company. It was supposed to be tomorrow! Now guess we have to get a hold of doctor, good luck there, to see what the alternative is. Makes me mad. When I first retired our insurance was amazing, seems like every year it gets worse and covers less.
Just had to sound off. Judy glad you are doing better after fall. I never thought about the generator not working as well at altitude. Need to keep that in mind if we ever manage to get out of here this summer.
Hope everyone is managing to stay cool in the rest of the country and stay safe if traveling.

Sue, 70 degrees sounds so good. I hurried up and mowed Sugar's yard this morning because it looks like it's going to rain again. There are ants in her yard but I couldn't find where they were coming from so spread ant bait all around the outside of her yard. The thermometer says it's 90 but feels like 100. I am sitting in front of a fan because I got so hot. Sugar isn't asking to go out this morning so hope we have turned the corner with her stomach issue. It started when I opened a new bag of food. I don't know if it was the food or something she ate in the yard. It's the same kind of food she was eating so don't know.

Ava, hope your son calls.

The only thing in the 70's here is the dewpoint! It is 95 with a 77* dewpoint right now! Ugh!!!

I got up at 7am to start cleaning out my storage unit. Got all covered up with goggles, dust mask, gloves, rain jacket, pants, socks, shoes, etc. Luckily, it only took me an hour to get everything out of there but, man, what a mess! I took each thing out, blew it off, put it on a plastic sheet in the back of my Jeep. Took two trips to get it all home. Now it is stacked under my carport for now. Will wait until the humidity drops down to go thru it and sort it.

Came in and took a shower. Was looking forward to a nice cool shower but with the heat outside, the water comes out really hot and never cools off, so it was a quick one! Amazing how much dust and dirt I had on me even being all covered up like that! My feet were just black! :o Even with the goggles on, my eyes feel like they got dust in them too. Glad that is all done for now.

Romeow is doing zoomies. He just used the litter box so he is all full of energy! He doesn't flinch anymore when I put my hand out to him so he is fully trusting me not to hurt him.

My SIL back in MN's dad passed away yesterday. He just turned 100 two weeks ago and they had a big party and all his kids, grandkids, and greats were there (saw pics on FB) so that was good that his whole family got to be with him in a happy celebration before he passed. He was a really nice man, very friendly and almost childlike; reminded me of Mr Rogers the way he spoke.

Now I am just relaxing. Will watch my church service in awhile. Need to work on stuff inside the rest of the day. The dishes are calling out to me...

**Carol, that is awful that Bill's insurance won't cover his CAT scan! What DO they cover these days?? I am on ACA here in CA and so far, they have covered everything for me, altho I haven't had to get much done, but they did cover my MRI and PT for my shoulder with no problem.

I was going to say good morning but just noticed it afternoon already. Barbie your heat sounds like ours, it is 90 out but with humidity it feels like 100. The humidity is down, only 68% with dew point at 75. It is supposed to rain and cool off tonight. I hope so my patience with the heat has ended!!
Martha, I'm glad Sugar feels better, besides giving rice with boiled chicken or hamburger adding about a tablespoon of PLAIN pumpkin to the food helps with diarrhea. Check your bag of food to see how it smells and check the bag to see if any holes. I've had that happen, the hole was small and near the bottom. I don't know how big your ant hills are but pouring corn meal liberally over them for a few days gets rid of the ones we have here. Plus they don't seem to come back.
Ann I'm sorry about the insurance denying Bill's procedure!
Irmi, hope it has cooled down where you are. I was talking to a friend in Ft Myers yesterday afternoon and it was raining and 77!

Food grade diatomaceous earth is good to put on ant mounds to get rid of them too, and it is safe for animals.

Afternoon All, like in so many other places the weather is horrible in Maryland. I have just stayed home because it is unhealthy outdoors. Storms coming tomorrow are another concern. Have a full trash can but will wait for the rain minus lightening of course to take to the dumpster. Have not felt like cooking so eating prepared or light meals. Traffic has slowed, not sure if it’s gas prices or heat. Think you could die sitting on a beach. The only stimulation for me is complains about weather and politics with friend Edith. We agree, we would prefer dark bars, margaritas to sunbathing on the beach. Stay cool

Good afternoon. Been filling out the paperwork for my Doc visit tomorrow. Lots of pages. I also made a list of all my symptoms but I think I already know the answer. Long Covid. But everyone has different symptoms it seems. They say it just takes time...........well dang. Fatigue, cough (productive and non productive), no appetite. Weight loss. Altho the last few days I have been buying things I like to eat. However, I did notice something strange. My green beans tasted yuk, and my orange didnt taste at all. I tried some Rice Krispies and they didnt taste at all. Very weird. I havent lost my sense of smell or taste on everything tho. This is very frustrating. Had a grapefruit cup and it tasted normal...whew. My coffee was good too.

I sometimes had to change the setting on my generator if at a higher altitude on my old rig. So far that's not been necessary with my current one. I'd have to pull out the manual, I'm sure.

Three rooms left early this morning letting me get a very early (before opening the office for continental breakfast) start. The RV manager came up and we got those done in a hurry. My last three checkouts weren't in a hurry. One just left and the RV manager is up at that room. Two big families to go. They're both here eating now so I'm stuck in here. But then that's the last two rooms needing cleaning today. We'll be done early. Yesterday I emptied out the washers and dryers of quarters, then opened the change machine and collected the bills and refilled it with quarters. I'll be rolling probably a couple hundred dollars of quarters this afternoon. And that's my exciting news.

Carol, I don't understand why that was denied. I hope your doctor is coding it properly. I'd definitely be calling my insurance company on this. Good luck.

Judy, I'm glad you didn't have more serious injuries and that your healing fairly quickly.

It's normally in the upper 50's/low 60's when I walk Ty around 7. Highs into 80's, occasionally up to low 90s. Next 10 days highs in low 80's. I'm happy with the temps here.

I started this hours ago lol. Rooms done, office/ continental breakfast breakfast area cleaned. Rags and a comforter in the wash. Quarters still on the do list.

I'm at a commercial campground with full hookups near Estes Park, and need to run back and put clothes in dryer. It is uphill, so will wait for it to dry there.

Will definitely call Cummins in the morning and ask what I should adjust, if anything. I cannot find anything to adjust, but this has happened to me before, about 6 years ago. It miraculously fixed itself when i got down a couple thousand feet. This has taught me that I really cannot manage in the heat without a reliable generator to run AC. My batteries are excellent, but a lot of my electronic stuff really needed charging, and I am still having grey water problems, so full hookups is giving me a break. Tomorrow I head to a COE campground with electric so it will not be a problem.

And heat has been less here then Nebraska and eastern Colorado. But will continue to be less hot in the upper altitudes I will be in for next three weeks. Hate the thought of trying to stay near Las Vegas on my way to drop off stuff in southern California on my way to Napa.

Still looking for more photos and news of kitty!! Wish i could get a kitten, but just have worried too much about leaving it while I go into museums and such.

Karen, exactly the changes in taste and smell being weird and changing, was a topic on the FB Long Hauler group today. Most Drs have no clue how to help!
I had a quiet day as I woke with exacerbation of my Long Hauler symptoms. Felt better in afternoon. Never know whether morning or afternoon or neither or both will be good or had, these days.Mostly I just hope it goes away.
Smoke from Mariposa fire is moving north and reached Tahoe Basin. Just hope it doesn't slide down into the valley here!
Have a good week everyone.
