Hello gals!
I have been busy cleaning my bedroom. The bathroom is too hot for the kitty since the AC doesn't get around the corner into there much. Also I need to take a shower so I decided to move him into my bedroom. He is now on my bed in his covered cube bed. He is so wanting to come out for loving but scared again of new surroundings. At one point, he started to come out of the bed but then saw his reflection in the mirrored closet doors and freaked out! He darted right back into the bed! So now I need to find a way to cover the mirrors!
I wonder what his past life was like. If I hold out my hand to him, he will put his nose to my fingers and as soon as his nose touches them, he backs up quick and looks at me like "why did you hit my nose??" So he is definitely hand-shy. Such a sweet boy, I can't imagine anyone wanting to hurt him! He has never hissed, growled or tried to bite or scratch me, when I go to pet him. It will take awhile to get him to feel comfortable with his surroundings. At least it is nice and quiet here. I couldn't imagine him in a house with kids or dogs. But he craves being petted, scratched, and rubbed all over, and seems starved for attention. He will get all the TLC and loving I can give him. He has a great home now.
I work from 1-6 today so he can feel free to come out and explore the bedroom. I will have his food, water, and litterbox in here for him so he should feel safe with the door closed and it will be cool and comfortable for him. He has a window sill he can sit on to look out the window if he wants, too.
I will post a photo of him in the Pet thread along with a list of names I have picked out. I want him to have a more masculine name because he looks so much like a female, I need to be reminded that he is, in fact, a boy! But I don't want a tough-boy name either. I really like O'Malley (from the Aristocats movie) but he doesn't quite fit that alley cat image, altho the colors are the same.
As far as weather, same ol', same ol', hot and humid, like the rest of the country (well, maybe not Michigan
!).
Have a good day and stay cool!
