Hot Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Hot Wednesday

Waiting for a tow truck here in Colorado. I had set my alarm this morning to 7:30 am because tow was supposed to arrive at 8:00 but my stupid cellphone adjusted time to EDT so it rang and I got up and dressed at 5:30 am before I realized it was so early!!! Went back to bed. It is now 9:00 am and no tow truck yet. More later.

UPDATE: Tow truck came and took hubcap off rear passenger dually where sound had come from. Turns out that out of 8 lug nuts holding the wheel on, only 2 were not broken off. The other 6 were rolling around in the hub cap. So, wheel came very, very close to falling off. However, this means towing rig backwards, which is very difficult with my long rear overhang, so he went back to shop to get smaller work truck and is going to try to fix it here!! Going outside to get some better pictures.

Good morning ladies,
Judy, hope your tow truck arrives soon.
Nothing new, another hot day. I spend my time playing with Patrick , watching tv and eating homemade ice cream. Patrick loves it! Will have to research some recipes more tailored for dogs cause I'm not so sure dairy is good for him. Will look into sherberts. Cleaned out the fridge this morning and did a run to the trash dumpster to get rid of that. Another week and I go back to work.
Y'all have a great day, be safe.

P.S. don't know who's doing the map now but I put in an update

Good morning from steamy PA. Today is forecasted to be really hot and humid. A start of a pattern for the next several days. We did get some rain a couple of days ago and that certainly helped the grass green up a bit. But not sure what this heat will do to it again! It will be what it’ll be. Just have to deal with it. I went to a graduation party for my step granddaughter and got to visit with some folks I haven’t seen for such a long time so it turned out to be a fun afternoon. It was all outdoors and was a beautiful day for it. I’m still trying to figure out my car and what it is capable of doing! Have a feeling it’ll be a long time if ever I figure it out. I think I have the basics down and not going to worry about the rest. A friend and I went to Grove City last week to the outlets and of course have lunch so it was a good run for the car and fun day for us. We tried a new restaurant and it was okay but don’t think we’ll go back to it. Again it was just good to venture out into the world….carefully! Judy, hope by now your tow truck has arrived and can get it somewhere to figure out what the noise is. Martha, (hugs).
I don’t think I’ll try to mow today and just stay inside and get some housework done. Did my running yesterday so that’ll be it for awhile. No reason to go out in the heat! I just don’t handle it like I did in the past. So that’s about it for me. Nothing exciting which is a good thing! I’ve had enough excitement for awhile! Have a great day and stay cool!

Judy, hope your tow truck shows up. My experience with being towed a couple of months ago was not good. It is hard to find anyone that wants to work on a motorhome. Glad you were able to get into an RV park. I was lucky it was still kind of cool when they parked me at the boat launch parking lot for several days.

It was only 86 when I went out to feed the cats but the humidity must be 100%. I had sweat running in my eyes by the time I got back in the house. You should see the fat field rats I see my cats with. The neighbors mowed their pasture yesterday and that must get the rats moving. Frosty had one and was only playing with it. One of the barn cats took it away from him. The outside cats will eat them. I have to watch that they don't leave part of the rats because Sugar will eat it and get sick.

I would like to go to Lafayette but my son still has my car and I'm driving the truck. I don't really want to go to Lafayette in the truck. Sharon, I don't remember if you said what kind of car you got. I keep debating on getting my 2013 CRV towable or spending that money on a newer car. I don't think there are many new cars that can be towed unless they are manual and I don't want to drive that.

Wow Judy! Wonder what caused the bolts to break? Hope not only repairs but that you learn cause of it happening.
Another hot day in 100's on tap here. Had smoke from a Sacramento fire last night, which has cleared, but now we expect smoke from a fire further Siuthern, which may be a longer event. Ugh. I'm going to try to get to Curves early, then stay in.
Have a good day everyone.

Wow, Judy, that sounds horrible. Hope they can offer a cause for it to happen.
Sorry you all are suffering from the enormous heat. It was hot here when I went outside yesterday, but doesn’t get warm inside.
I have a soccer game at noon today. Comic-Con begins in a couple of days. I have been staying away from crowds so I may just skip going around the convention center this year.

Good Afternoon. Having a mixed Westher dsy after a humid and very warm day yesterday. Had to haul out my portable AC and let it run all dsy and night. Turned it off this morning as house was 73 and outside was same. There’s a good breeze blowing and humidity has dropped way down. Currently it is 73°. We had rain showers and some severe storms moving around the area. We did have a severe storm warning earlier this afternoon but nothing came out of it. We did have a heavy rain shower for a few minutes. Back we are under a severe storm watch until 8 o’clock tonight.

I am getting my new generator installed today, so there is all kinds of activity going on around here. The guys had to stop for a couple of minutes when the rain shower hit. They have been installing the wiring and the transfer boxes and everything and now that I’m getting ready to place the generator.

Velda, I hope you can eventually come up with some kind of a solution to your health issues you are having. Covid is a big learning curve for a medical science. Karen, I hope the same goes for you too. Yours has been dragging on way too long.

Judy, glad the problem with the tire was discovered, but he why it happened is the big question. Lyn, sounds like you having been have some great quality family time. O’Sharon, May e my weather will head your way and break the heat and humidity.

I’ve been a bit ambitious since Thry have been working here. Put some wood filler in the spacer part of my last Raccoon project. Since the power was off for awhile, I washed the insides of my windows. I have been wanting a day where I could do a little catch-up on some things around here, and today it’s a good day for it Also organized my socket wrench set as some of the sockets got messed up. They sometimes fall out of place when I carry the kit around. Then I cleaned sawdust off my miter saw and swept the garage floor. Just little odds and ends stuff. Would have mowed my grass, but mom nature decided to water instead. Fair trade off.

It is HOT!! Just looked at the weather and it says it is 95 but feels like 113! And it is supposed to be 100 in a couple of days. It is also showing we have clouds and it may rain here but all I see outside is sun! I'm with you Sharon I don't handle the heat well either. I'm staying inside! They are putting in Clear Wave boxes for the high speed internet on our street today. I don't know how the crew of men can stand to be out there digging holes. I feel so bad for them. They are installing it all over town so they are putting some type of boxes that are about 2 feet wide by 4 feet deep in the holes and running underground cable between them.

Judy I'm glad your tire didn't come off!! And I hope they are able to do the repair without towing it.

Alice: Beth asked me quite awhile ago to manage the Members’ Map. I spent quite a bit of time today trying to get into it to change your location and Sheila’s, but just couldn’t get it done. As much as I didn’t want to bother Beth, I sent her a message and hopefully she can help.

My dually wheels are fixed and I am in a new campground in Sterling, CO. Hot, hot, hot, but tomorrow I will be headed to Rocky Mountain National Park so temps will be in lower 80s instead of upper 90s. WIll be in upper Colorado elevations for next month, so that will be nice. Right now I am waiting for my baked potato and trying to swat flies. It seems like every campground has its own bugs to drive me nuts.

My problem with the wheels was really scary. The two dually wheels are bolted together and they came very close to both falling off. That would have meant a lot of damage to things like tailpipe, water and waste tanks, lower side body panels, catalytic converter, etc. It is also scary knowing that my rig cannot be towed backwards because of the long rear overhang, so they would have to put it on a gigantic flatbed!! And I have no idea how they would do that.

Anyway, onward to get rid of more flies. I keep thinking i have them all and more show up.

It's been, I believe over 2 years since Sandi did an update on the map. I honestly don't know where my information for it has disappeared to. Unless someone really, really, really wants us to maintain that map at this time I'd like to consider putting it to bed? Give me your opinion, ladies.

I have been busy! Yesterday after work, I signed up for a new storage unit that is indoors and climate controlled. So now I need to empty the other one which will be a mess to do since everything in it is covered with a thick layer of black dust/dirt! I am trying to find a rechargable leaf blower to borrow to blow it off of each box, etc, before putting it in my car. Will sort thru what is in there before moving what I want to keep to the new unit. I will also move some bins from home that I have already gone thru, over there as well. The cost was almost the same for the new indoor one as the garage type I have had. Will be nice to have it all stay clean, have an overhead light and be a comfortable temp while I am loading or unloading.

Since I have not heard from anyone about the foster thing, I decided to go looking at cats today to adopt. I drove all over the valley and towards LA to different rescues and humane societies. I know what I want and told myself not to settle and to wait until I find "the one" that I know immediately is the right cat for me. I went to 4 different places but didn't see any that really seemed right. Most of the cats are either old, have medical issues. or social issues. I am not wanting to deal with those things right now. I also don't want to deal with a kitten. Well, anyways, I came home after all that and checked online with one more place. The Palm Springs Humane Society where I take the TNR cats to be fixed. They had some possibilities with one in particular that I liked so I drove across the valley (again!) to check them out. As soon as I saw the one I looked at online, it was love at first sight! I didn't even want to see any others! I was taken to the room to meet him and was told he was shy and probably wouldn't want to be friendly. He immediately wanted me to pet him and then he rolled over on his back exposing his belly, which is a sign of trust! He was so sweet and pretty and only 2 years old and healthy. His name is Lasagna (which will be changed!). He is a small cat (5.6 lbs), medium length fur, top of him is orange, and part of his face, front, and underneath is white. I have him home now. He pressed his face into my fingers in the carrier all the way home. I have him set up in the bathroom now. He has a little covered bed that he is laying in now. I put my hand in there to pet him and he started purring! So now I am leaving him alone to get adjusted and let him decide when to come out to explore, etc. I am SO excited!! :D I will post pics as soon as I can take some

on edit: I just realized that he looks a lot like Millie, Lyn's kitty!

very happy for you Barbie bet he will make a good companion .... what are some of the names you are considering? I would change from Lasagna as well  was that the shelter's name or the last owners?
Judy glad it is fixed and that it didn't come off but what caused it?
seriously I have never heard of this company but today I was looking at a skirt in Woman's World thought that is so cute wonder if it comes in my size (it doesn't :( ) but I did look at some other skirts found a couple I really like but everywhere I go so far I've seen ad's for this company :? although what I did see of them I think I will look at some more stuff
so another do nothing day I mean seriously did nothing folded a batch of clothes read a few chapters in a new book and decided that perhaps what I need to do is put in my notebook the 2021 books so that I can find them if I have them so I put in 3 months worth of books .... what started it was I finished a book last night and read about a book thought I would like to read it according to the list in my phone I have it haven't looked to see if I've read it should have but thought that it would work out better if I made a list in the notebook so I can hopefully find the names easier... hopefully in my mind it is a good idea...
need to go to the store tomorrow see if I can get something that mom might like to eat I threatened her with Ensure tonight she normally eats a lot of bacon she just took 3 then looked at it like I took three I don't even want one... I finally told her either she picks something out and eat it or I will get some Ensure she did eat all but the bread (BLT's) also a half of a small avocado... she has became so slow like it's taken all her energy to do what she does... it's time like this that being with brother would be better his daughter can't handle hot or cold so thinking they have A/C and I think some of this is heat related... but I also wonder if she has some UTI going on... lots of trip to bathroom... loss of appetite so just wondering.... in fact I am thinking that I am going to get some testing strips and see if I need to take her to the dr...
as to the map I mean I've been here a year and just now thought to have my location changed and so many of us are now staying put more than not so perhaps it has out lived it's needs
you all have a good day

Beth, I sent you a message with as much info I have of the map including some passwords. Maybe with your computer knowledge it will help.

Judy, so glad you’re safe and were able to solve the tire problem. That was really scary.

Barbie. Congratulations on your new kitty. Looks like you two are already best friends.

I have (intentionally) never put myself on the map, so it makes no difference to me either way. I would only suggest, if it isn't needed (and why would it be needed, anyway?) definitely put it to bed. Just one less thing to worry about.

Barbie, congratulations on your new best friend!! I can't wait to see pix! :D
