Sleepy Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sleepy Saturday

Postby BarbaraRose » Sat Jul 16, 2022 12:24 pm

Good (late) morning gals!

I couldn't fall asleep for anything last night! I tried everything but my mind was racing! I think I finally fell asleep sometime around 4:30am. Then, of course, I woke up at 8am wide awake! I had some toast and just finished up a book I started yesterday, so now I am hoping I can take a long nap and make up the hours I missed overnight.

I didn't get much accomplished yesterday so I need to do a few things today at least, once I get caught up on my sleep a little more.

Beth, so glad you found a new person to take over the bad persons place! Just found out that one of our stylists gave her 2 week notice the other day! She is so sweet and fun to work with. We will all miss her. Hopefully, we can get a decent replacement for her.

Hope you all are doing OK. Have a good one!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning, nothing much happeing here. Weather is a little overcast with a high of 80 today. Pleasant enough. Not many chores on my agenda today. I do need to go get a few groceries but will go on Monday when everyone else goes back to work.

I am trying to read a book but dang every half hour or so I find myself nodding off. It is a good book too. Think I will go take a shower that should wake me up...hopefully.

Barbie, I haven't been sleeping well either. I think that hard part for me is working early. I've never been a morning person and even when getting up early, my body wakes up in the evenings and thinks I'm nuts trying to go to sleep. So I just don't get enough sleep on this schedule. Combine that with long hours, etc, and I'm always exhausted.

I added housekeeping to my schedule today. Actually several days this week. Tomorrow 3 of us. But today just me. Continental breakfast was busy, them followed by cleaning a couple rooms, checking others, etc, I'd love to go to bed right now. But I have to keep the office manned at least till 8 (unless all the check-ins arrive early, but I never expect that). One day I locked the door with the sign to ring the bell for help. I dozed about 10 minutes when the bell rang. So right now I'm relaxing but not trying to nap.

Good afternoon ladies!

Unlike Barbie & Beth, I don't have trouble sleeping, but most mornings I wake up really early, and today was no different. I woke at 3:19 and never went back to sleep. Today I played for a Requiem Mass at church for a friend that died and I'm blaming my nerves on getting up early. I usually have my alarm set for 4:45 to get ready to meet my friend for our morning walk, but that's only Monday through Friday. She and her hubby left today to go to NC for a week but I'm going to try to force myself to continue exercising while she's gone. I have another service to play for tomorrow so I need to get in the back room and do more practicing.

I am definitely in Beth's and Barbie's camp when it comes to sleeping. My mother used to say she was amazed at how active I was late at night--doing laundry, vacuuming, etc. I have been a night owl all my life and even went to a sleep specialist a couple of years before I quit my regular job. Luckily, at Ford IT, we had core hours back then. That meant we all had to be in the office from 9 am to 3 pm, but could come in as early as 6:30 am or as late as 9 am. Then we would adjust our leaving time accordingly.

After a lot of tests and determining that my problem was not due to breathing problems at night, the sleep guy said I should just try to adjust my schedule as best I could, so I started my day at Ford at 9 am. IT was a good place to work, by the way, because we could wear jeans every day, as long as we had no outside meetings. Jeans were not allowed to be torn and t-shirts had to be without writing. I kept a pair of slightly dressier slacks and a short-sleeved sweater for emergencies in my minivan in case I had a meeting at World Headquarters or another Ford office. They were business casual at World Headquarters, but IT was really, really casual!! Only the salespeople coming in wore business suits!!

I had a mobile RV technician come this morning so I had to be up at 7:30 am. He did not fix my slow grey tank, but at least convinced me it was not a clogged vent. I dumped a bottle of drain stuff in the shower and got out my plunger. It helped a little, but I still need to work on it. So, I took a two-hour nap this afternoon, and am ready to go to bed right now, but will probably not fall asleep right away.

I post on here then go play a game then come back and see if any activity after I post so last night I came back and can't find me but found other's it was one of those that didn't successfully post and had I paid attention I could have saved it and posted it... but I didn't and didn't  and when I realized it was getting ready to go to the bedroom... so the only thing I can remember is reporting about mom's hearing test turned out too much ear wax to test... so the second appointment that she has scheduled is with the dr that removes wax... we aren't sure what the appointment was for brother said to give results of the test the dr that was going to do the test says she does that after the test... but what ever it was for it is now for wax removal and then early in Aug will go back for the test... I am hoping that a lot of it is due to ear wax... yes we all lose some of our hearing as we age or at least most of us.... but hers has been such a noticeable change in the last year that we have been concerned...
today was mostly normal breakfast scripture's and loafing on FB and read a magazine... then to the store home to make supper BLT's mom's appetite hasn't been good... I thought last night cause of the ice cream I bought after her test... got the large DQ oh my it is large!!!! oh by the way tomorrow is National Ice Cream day!!! but tonight she only ate 3 pieces of bacon and some tortilla chips said she just isn't hungry
she had to get up to go to the bathroom again I said mom you just went to the bathroom 10 mins ago... told her maybe we should have her checked for a UTI will keep an eye out but it's a almost on the hour maybe not that bad but it sure seems like it
this morning I got up went to the bathroom and the garbage can was empty (it wasn't last night) so questioned dd she didn't looked in garbage can wasn't there (I was looking for the bag) texted nephew to see if by chance he was here and I didn't hear him... nope not him wasn't in the garage so when I went to go to the store looked in the garbage can not believing that mom could get it there and why should she ??? but it wasn't there either so when I got back looked in the garbage can inside and looked in the bag that came from the living room and there it was ... the yucky stuff from the bathroom why??? it really wasn't that full oh well we never know what they think do we...
was going to work on the treasure chest but knowing that I couldn't get it finish by tomorrow I just decided not to push it this weekend... and my crocheted afghan I found a yarn that was not attached at both ends in the middle can't figure out how to fix it not enough yarn to tie a know and work it into the row so only having to take out over 60 rows.... I guess it won't be done when I was anticipating that it would.... going to take out several days to take out that many rows... the knot at the end of the row takes a moment to undo right now I wish I was back with what I used to do and not knot it till the end of the project...
over all a nothing day
Irmi when you were waking up I wasn't asleep ... and had for me a hard time going to sleep it usually doesn't happen...
Beth really glad that you have found another housekeeper too bad you have to keep the other one on for 2 more weeks...
Judy did he give you any idea why your drain was so slow???
you all have a great day and hopefully tonight we all can sleep better

He thought it was just a big clog but said he could not access trap and gave me name of stuff to use. I had some drain stuff so put some of that down it. Then used plunger. And did it again tonight. After several
Plunges it made a big gush but when I ran water it seems plugged still. Need to dump tank in morning and then get more drain cleaner and work with plunger more. At least I seem to be making a little progress.

It was 106° here Saturday! So we stayed in except to grab Amazon packages and mail. Did not hear handyman Sean, but apparently he was out at my truck organizing and checking parts he picked up at pick n pull. I felt bad when he came to the door asking to have downstairs open so he could use bathroom, he looked about half boiled! Another HOT day tomorrow, but, knock on wood, air quality has stayed pretty good.
Have a good Sunday everyone.

Not quite that hot here, a bit north west of Velda. "Only" 105 :(

The intense heat puts me in a very poor frame of mind anyway (like Velda, I don't even much go outside when it is this hot), and now I am about at my wits end:

Some as*h*le near to me in my neighborhood has been randomly setting off fireworks every effing night since I returned from my 4th July trip (I left for the holiday weekend, to be with my kids and also to avoid the worst of the 4th July noise). And it STILL goes on, every freaking night for the past two weeks.

Starting at about 8:00 p.m. every night, the final Big Boom for last night was at 10:30 p. m. It sounded like it was set off in my back yard just outside my bedroom window, and it made me jump, just as I was falling asleep.

The worst of it is that my Joe is suffering from a bladder infection, and with the ongoing explosive noise he is afraid to go outside to relieve himself, which is NOT good, and a major worry.

Last night I very nearly ran out into my back yard to scream obscenities at the top of my lungs, but at the last minute I decided against it. But it was a very close thing. I was that upset.

If it starts up again tonight, I think I will call the police. They will probably think I am nuts, but enough is enough!!!
