Wednesday July 13

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday July 13

Morning All, hot and humid, etc. Severe stormed moved through yesterday, didn’t need to sit in the laundry room but other Marylanders are without power in this heat. I have given up doing curbside with Walmart. Ordering on line has become difficult for me. Many items can only be shipped which is not an option for me living in an apartment. The shipping option automatically shows up at check out and my aging brain might miss deleting it and would be a mess. Walmart is less expensive but farther away so gas prices probably make shopping closer to home a better choice. Picked up fresh produce and other items at Food Lion curbside yesterday. Several items not available but stocked at Amazon so placed a pickup order to friends porch which is 10 minutes away. Walgreens is close by but ordered over the counter items from Amazon instead of shopping with sick people. Sandi, I’m doing the best I can. :D Be safe and stay cool.

Evening shirl. Thought I would join you so you won’t be alone by yourself here. I can’t you’re the only one who has posted today so far, and it’s already 8 PM Eastern time  The sun is slowly going down here in Northernmichigan. on the temperature is going with it. It’s currently 71°. I have been an absolutely beautiful day with clouds and sun and a cool breeze. We were in the 70s. We did get some much needed rain Sunday night and Monday morning and then a bit of misty rain on Monday afternoon but not enough to stop anybody from being outside. Yesterday it was mostly cloudy but then it started to clear later on. I took the dogs! And we went up to Mackinac for a little while. Was beautiful up there by the water.

Just been passing around here working on my rRaccoon peekers. Mine is done and I will be putting it outside tomorrow and I am putting the finishing touches on one for a friend and I have one more in the basement to assemble and then they will be done, I just got another bunch of patterns in the mail today that I ordered last week for future projects. My last saw blade on my handheld saber side just broke so I have to get some more before I do anything else. But it’s time to finish up that picket fence that I’m making and get that done. Tomorrow I have two appointments in the morning, one of which is a follow up after the infection and root canal I had two weeks ago. Then if I get out of that office in time, I’m going to go to our United Way and help them move cases of bottled water. Endodontist office said I probably only will be there 45 minutes at the most. No plans for the rest of the week.

My generator is on its way and should be here either Friday or Monday. When it arrives they are going to call me and schedule installation for next week.

So that’s it from my end.

Good evening Shirl and Sue. Yes, a quiet day on here today. :?

Shirl, glad you weren't affected by the storms.
Sue, I want to see a photo of your raccoon peeker once it is up on your fence!

I decided to become a foster mom to kitties for one of the local shelters. They have over 800 :o cats who need to be fostered or adopted right now! I sent in the application last night and was accepted a little while ago today. :) I want to help out kitties without making a commitment to any one cat right now. Still have a lot of grieving to do. :( Hopefully, I won't become a "foster fail".

I work tomorrow and then have 4 days off, so will get my place nice and clean and ready for my foster(s) to come in. :D

I worked half the day today (9-2) and then took myself out for lunch at Burgers & Beer, one of my favorite local restaurants. Had a plate full of loaded potato skins with ranch dressing!

Have a good evening!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Barbie, fostering kittens or even adult cats sounds like a great idea. I would really like to get a kitten, but I have decided that will have to wait until I give up motorhoming because I do not want to have a leave a cat in a hot vehicle.

I am in western Illinois right now, in a really, really nice COE campground, Fisherman's Corner. There are very long, paved sites that are level and wide, with nice gravel patios. And right on the Mississippi River! For $10 per night, I will definitely come back here again.

Friday, I head west along I-80 for my slow trip to California.

Judy just an FYI ~ I've camped alot at Fisherman's Corner when I lived in IL its a nice park but depending on what time of year you go, the sites along the Mississippi on the left loop when you pull in, tend to flood. Thompson Causeway a short drive north towards Galena is a favorite too but can be very buggy unless you're near the point. Mosquitos and mayflies in July are horrible.
