Wednesday?

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Wednesday?

Where are all the Eastern girls? Oh, well, guess I can mention Tuesday's topics.

Wish I had Sue's energy. Waiting to see the animals peeking over fence decorations. I, too, grew strawberries but of the 3 plants I only got 2 or 3 berries and something got to eat part of them before I did! Cherry tomatoes still have ripening tomatoes on them and not a speck of green leaves or stems. They weren't a success either.

Carol - you have a mall nearby, I think. Before I moved here I used to go to a local mall for walking. The mall opened up early for walkers before stores opened. They even had a sort of "club" we could sign up for that tracked your mileage. It's climate controlled, is level, has music, can window shop along the way, and one of the coffee shops would be open for after walk resting. Ideal conditions. I think most malls open early for walkers.

Barbie - hope you get used to your newer hours quickly.

Amazingly, our cats didn't seem to be spooked by the fireworks (or gun shots) at all. They just acted indignant for the interruptions.

And Now It’s Wednesday

Postby Colliemom » Wed Jul 06, 2022 7:47 am

Morning all. Supposed to be mix of sun and clouds today, high in 70’s. . Looking like Saturday will be a good morning to do debris cleanup at the mobile home park. Especially since we have to be there at 8 a.m., it will be in the cool of the morning.

Didn’t get any fence post painting done yesterday due to Weather and being damp from the rains. But did run some errands in town and painted Raccoon faces. Mine is done and ready for assembly and spraying with Polyurethane. Just need to do a little trimming on the spacers that go in between the face and back panel.

Flowers are loving this weather. Remember those flower boxes I had in the house during the colder weather. Here’s one of thrm.

Not sure whatI’m getting into today. Might take a ride to a cement statue place or if sun comes out like it’s supposed to, might finish the fence posts. Need to paint those fence pickets too. Maybe I need to flip a coin

Deposit is down for the Generator, so that’s started. Now to wait till it arrives and he installs it. Also ordered a bunch of woodcraft patterns for future projects, since they had 20% off order special. Barbie, I’m surprised your doctor doesn’t schedule your mammogram. Mine sends the request in and they let me know when it’s scheduled. I can change it if it conflicts with something. Anita, looks like you are having a great trip.

I should get myself dressed and decide which way I’m going here. Hope you all have a wonderful day today.

Good morning ladies
Middle of the week already ! I continue to do nothing as it gets too hot. I try to concentrate on indoor stuff. Have a few boxes to cut up and set out for the recycle bin, that's about the extent of chores. Could give Patrick a bath, that's fun and he enjoys it. So there ya have it, real exciting day, lol
Y'all have a good one.

Daughter-in-law is mostly recovered from COVID, but son said today that he just tested positive! He was at condo most of today waiting for furniture to arrive, but everyone else was at regular house. I stopped by and dropped off some fancy cupcakes, then picked up my mother's punch bowl and cups from the basement and loaded them into my motorhome to take to other son and DIL in California. Ohio family has never really used it and just does not entertain hardly ever. DIL's brother and his family who are only relatives other than her mother who lives nearby, are really just not very social. They have three kids same age as grandkids, but will come over for a birthday party, but not stay long. California DIL has large and complex family and does a lot of entertaining, so when son complained about stuff taking up space, I asked him to talk to wife to see if he really wanted the punch bowl, and they agreed that they did not. It is the Candlewyck glass pattern and has a ladle, big tray, and 24 punch cups, and i know CA family will use it often. So, I am ferrying it over to there.

Got my second COVID booster this noon, and am feeling a little achy--worried it might be COVID, but then decided that I was being nutty, and this was just a shot reaction. Will feel better when I am away from what my DIL here calls "the Hell house" because she has been waiting for the three kids to get sick also. Luckily, she had bad cold symptoms for only 4 days and is feeling much better today. Tomorrow I head to Michigan for 4 nights and then onward to the West and California.

Also, we are going through test kits like crazy, and some we had were out of date. I paid $12 each for three tests last weekend, but then yesterday, I checked with pharmacy, and they said I can get 8 tests per month billed to Medicare, so that is what I did today. If you have a household address, you can also order 8 kits right now through the post office. Just go to this site and fill out the form and they will deliver them to you. https://special.usps.com/testkits.

Not much going on here. It rained several times today but I haven't gone out to look at the rain gauge. There is a good chance of rain for the next 10 days. Hope my yard doesn't get away from me.

Sugar went to the vet for her 6 month heart worm shot. She has lost 4 pounds so guess the weight control food is working. She doesn't like it so not eating is more likely. Maybe I should try it. My kitchen needs to be a room out in the yard so it's not so handy.

I wish the mall wasn't 30 miles from me so I could walk there. I have gotten out of the habit of walking everyday because it's been so hot. I keep thinking I'll ride the exercise bike but don't do that either.

Ava, my box recycling is the burn cage. Boxes seem to hang around because they are good boxes but I don't need one until I burn them.

Judy, hope your family gets over covid soon. The other day when I was in Walmart they had a display of covid test in the middle of an aisle. The box was $19 but I didn't look to see how many tests there were. Thank you for the web site. I think I'll order some.

Thanks for that ordering link, Judy.

I had been wanting to order some of the free ones, but didn't know where to start.

These tests are really expensive, and when you need to test several times in a row, especially when you have a family, it can be just impossible to afford, so the free method is good. My son and DIL had several tests, but most of theirs were expired, so they had to run out and buy more before I told them about using their employer-provided insurance and the post office free ones.

And don't forget that you can receive 8 tests per month from any pharmacy, which will then bill Medicare. It took about five extra minutes for me because the pharmacist had to create a prescription, and then fill it with the 4 packages I took from the shelf. (Each box had two tests, so that totaled 8 tests.) After they billed Medicare, I paid nothing. And next month, I can get 8 more tests if I need them.

Originally, Congress passed two acts that made private, insurance companies reimburse for 8 tests per month for their members. It is described here: https://www.cms.gov/how-to-get-your-at- ... t-for-free. (I think you might have to buy these and then get reimbursed, but I think it depends on your state and your insurance plan.)

After the announcements of these acts, Medicare people put up a big stink, and President Biden expanded it to cover those of us who are retired and on Medicare. https://www.medicare.gov/coverage/coron ... 20to%20you.

By the way, I bought a box of five tests in London at a cost of $12 for the box!! That's about $2 per test, compared to the $10-15 per test here. And the ones I bought were the same brand as available here.

thanks Judy for the address need to do that heard it mentioned the other day but hadn't looked into it...
oh by the way while you were in England you posted a picture of the square toilet seat... what is your review of it?
when I think of it will have to send Beth my pictures of the plants I planted this year... I like them and have had a hummingbird at the natural flowers... not sure but think I was the natural flower when I was out watering the plants and it was sure buzzing me....have on a pretty bright orange and pinkish top some may have seen it as I've had it literately for years... think it had pants that went with it that have been gone for years... :?
woke up this morning and thought we ought to go and have Chinese food... so I checked with mom thought it sounded like a good idea... so went back to sleep for a few minuets we left for the restaurant just before 12 I think they have increased the amount of rice and decreased the amount of the other part of the dish because she normally takes home left overs... rarely eats the fried rice but eat the sweet and shower shrimp egg roll and 2 crab wonton's and sweet and sour soup.... very impressed with her after we eat I asked if she wanted to go on a drive she didn't care... so we went North and then East up through Kelly then back North dropped down to stop at the ranch for a few moments do that a couple of times a year I'd heard that there was going to be a sorta docent but guess it didn't happen there was a van with information plus stuff to sell I think to help with the cost of repairs that have been done... the crack in grandma's house was repaired. it's too uneven for mom to get out of the car... just just looked that the house from the distance... as we were driving down from the east passed the tree we used to play in amazed that it is still flourishing and saw some trees out in the fields that I don't recall being there... then we headed back into town got a dq ice cream cone got the small it was very small
so supper was very light some crackers and cheese and salami potato salad... that type of meal
after we got home I read my scriptures and took a nap... that later than normal bed time got to me
I told myself that I shouldn't pick up the book but self did then self didn't stop at one chapter... I normally read a chapter at a time the third chapter was a long one... hate it when I apparently have read the previous book and don't remember it.... cause then I have to figure out when and where it might be so I can reread it...
you all have a good night
