Sunday July 3

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sunday July 3

Postby Shirlv » Sun Jul 03, 2022 7:56 am

Morning All, a wall rattling t-storm moved through last night and light rain this morning. Suppose to clear later. #1 daughter is having a family cook out today but I passed. I have two medical appointments this week and virus cases are picking up. The high humidity is back so might have to cancel lunch outdoors. Shelia, I have been fixing corn in the microwave for a long time and it is perfect for someone living alone plus saves water. You are right, cutting up the cob is easier. I usually buy half a doz, eat a couple ears and freeze the other four. Farmer friend said no need to Blanche before freezing and he is right. I made a little potato salad yesterday so will fry a couple soft crabs and that will be dinner. Saw a recipe for apple crumble in the crockpot that sounded interesting. Lol be safe

Mornin' Shirl and ask that follow~~~

I totally missed Rabbits Rollcall and spent all day yesterday on the computer doing some financial things from Dad's estate. By the time I got to read 2 days of MC, I knew my brain wasn't really reading. But I did catch up with everything now. I should have written notes on what I wanted to say.

Judy glad you're back home safely. Carol, sorry to hear about Bill's health issues. Peggy sorry your Roadtrek group is dwindling but hope you can get a battery for yours. And Lyn, keep up with the treadmill and water aerobics. Your positive outlook is encouraging to all.

I've done about a much wandering around NH for now. Did a long drive the other day looking for covered bridges and Waterfalls but the map I got from a visitor center wasn't the best. Heading into Maine on Tuesday to wander around Acadia.

That's what's been happening in my neck of the woods. Have a safe and happy 4th of July.

Good Morning, I'm really not moving too fast so far this morning. I feel as though I could go back to bed. I feel this way every now and then and I wonder if it is mental exhaustion from living through this moment in time. Whatever it is I'm ready for it to pass. Pippa though is filled with boundless energy and wanting me to play between her bursts of zoomies.
Tina, congratulations for all the winning moments, I know how much time and work goes into showing dogs. I hope the doctors can get your medication figured out and you can get something that will help. Carol I hope Bill will get some positive news, it is so hard waiting for answers.
I also cook corn on the cob in the microwave, beats heating up the kitchen boiling water and to me it tastes the same. DH doesn't care for it so I usually only fix one at a time.
I better finish getting my ready on a friend is coming by to bring some eggs to trade for blueberries. She loves to cook so I'm hoping there will also be cookies involved. :)

Afternoon. I’ve had the lyrics to that song “Oh what a beautiful morning, Oh what a beautiful day” going out of my head all day. We are having such a perfect summer that it’s just enjoyable to be out there. This weekend you could not ask for more perfect weather. It could stay this way the rest of the summer. Temps have been in the 70s and the nights in the 50s with no humidity and barely a cloud in the sky. Have the windows open and a nice breeze blowing through. One of those times when it makes you feel so glad to be alive so you can enjoy it.

I got half of my fence posts painted yesterday, But came to a stopping point as the paint can was getting low so I decided it was time to stop. Today I’m not doing any work around outside as I am working on my little woodcraft Racoons. Would really like to get them done. Mine are 3/4 finished and I am waiting for the paint to dry on the spacers that go between the front and back parts so that I can get everything finalized and then double check to make sure everything is going to fit the fence right and then put some spray polyurethane on them. I have the other two cut out and the pattern traced on the face of both of them. I do not think that these two will take as long because I don’t have to put as many spacers in between the front and back parts as I do mine, because they are going on narrower fences. I did pick up another gallon of paint today so I might finish up my fence posts tomorrow. Then that project will be done.

Been every quiet weekend so far. No fireworks of any kind around here. Maybe tonight or tomorrow night some of my neighbors might do some because usually a few of them do. My suspicion is maybe tonight because some people might be leaving tomorrow to return home. There are a lot of people up here. I’m beginning to wonder if there’s anybody left in the southern part of Michigan or below. They came with their cars and their trucks and their trailers, their motorhomes, boats, jet skis, side by side ATV’s, bikes and any type of transportation that runs on the ground or water. Homes that are around Fawn and Hesrt Lakes have driveways full of cars. Everybody’s up for playtime. Glad I don’t have to go home with that traffic tomorrow. Gas prices have been steadily dropping and as of right now they are anywhere from $4.52 to $4.59 here.

So just wanted to say hi. I’m going to go back to my little projects for a while and then maybe I will take the pups and go over and see what my friend is doing on the other side of the lake.

Good afternoon ladies!

Shirl, I don't blame you for cancelling joining in on the cookout today and possibly tomorrow's outdoor meal. Stay in your comfort zone. Cheryl, I enjoy keeping up with your travels and love the pictures you post. BJ, I too feel sluggish some mornings, but Pippa needs someone to throw his toys. Carol, I hope Bill has an easy solution to his heart issues. Sue, you just popped in. I hope you'll post some pictures of your fence peepers when you're done with them.

I just got home from church, but our service doesn't start until 10:00, is over around 11:30 and today we had a barbecue following the service for the 4th celebration. On top of that, it takes an hour to get home if the traffic is perfect. Today it was. I have Russet potatoes on for the potato salad I'll make for tomorrow's GTG in the clubhouse. I'll fry up the bacon Steve cut and hard boil some eggs for the salad, too. I may not put it together until tomorrow morning.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Just saw a lady from Texas who posted on another forum about thinking about full-timing at age 65. What is the name and URL of the women's RV group from Texas who meets occasionally?

I am settled for the night along the Ohio Turnpike. Had planned to spend this weekend with son and family, but decided I was better off staying by myself because DIL has COVID. Darn.

Good evening gals!

It isn't even 7:30 yet and I am getting very sleepy reading on here. The wind is really howling outside tonight! No warnings issued tho. I think they stopped putting out high wind warnings here since it is practically an every day occurrence now and considered "normal". I noticed that they will put out an excessive heat warning for LA county and others along the coast when it gets over 95 degrees, but we don't get that here until it gets over 115 degrees! So I guess the high winds are our new normal now  .

I discovered about a year ago how easy it is to microwave corn on the cob! I can do one ear at a time until I am full, since it is so fast.

There are fireworks tonight at the other casino about 2 miles away. I am too tired to go out by the road to watch them. Won't be able to see these from my driveway. I am sure I will hear them tho.

I ordered a couple of books on grammar and punctuation to help me with my new course, and will get those on Wednesday. I don't go back to work now until Friday so will have a couple days to read thru those for more helpful tips. Meanwhile I will continue with my course lessons.

I stopped to pick up an order of spaghetti after work at my favorite Italian restaurant. One order is actually about 5 or 6 meals for me! Not bad for just under $8 :o . Should last me for several days at lease. I bought some frozen cheezy garlic bread the other day so that will go great with the spaghetti!

I have my physical on Wednesday so I need to make sure I don't forget about it. I have a few things to ask her about. One is the sleep apnea I might have. And the other is a couple things I found on my back. One I picked at before I looked at it so not sure what it was, but the other one I saw this morning in the mirror looks like an irregular shaped mole, so I need to have her look at that.

I am kind of itching to start another gourd project. I need to get my stuff organized first. I still don't know what to put on top of those tables yet, to protect the soft tops on them. Maybe I will stop at Home Depot this week and ask someone there what they would recommend. I know plywood is heavy, and is expensive now. I need a 2 ft by 8 ft piece of something solid.

Karma is doing his evening zoomies. He is so pretty and graceful to watch him swim like that.

Tomorrow I will check out the BBQ here. I am always up for free food! :D Might see if my neighbor wants to go with me. She isn't too social here (as far as activities involvement) since she isn't very mobile. Amazingly tho, she knows a lot of people here since she is always out on her deck with her dog and everyone who walks by, stops to talk to her (during the winter season).

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
