Friday July 1. Rabbits

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday July 1. Rabbits

Postby Shirlv » Fri Jul 01, 2022 9:20 am

Morning All, going to be a hot humid day. Storms coming tomorrow but Sunday looks ok. Will put my flag on the balcony today, a little July 4th in my bubble. Number 2 granddaughter sold her house and will be living in an rv while building. She ask me for recipes for an air fryer and crockpot. Happy to have a project so will make her a book. I think I have become a lighter sleeper and traffic starts about. 6am. Sheila, if I have anything chocolate after 3pm I would be staring at the ceiling for hours. As long as I can remember 3pm I can hardly keep my eyes open. Set the kitchen timer so I only take a short nap. Lol #2 daughter and I are going to the crab deck after a Wednesday eye appointment. Son text this morning to ask if I wanted to go to the crab deck next week. I do love the waterside crab deck. Something to look forward to and it’s outdoors. Be safe

Good morning to all - Can't believe a half of the year is gone already.+ Before I went to bed last night I wrote a RABBITS note and stuck it on my bathroom mirror. I figured we'd need all the good luck we can get this month. Visit with logistical was some bad news for Bill. Seems like the blood flow to the bottom part of his heart is not what it should be. He needs to have a CAT scan in a couple of weeks then we will know more. Hopefully a couple new stents can fix the problem. If not...not sure what will be done. His Cat scan appt is July 18 and the follow up appointment was for August 17th - Not waiting a whole month to find out. Finally got a hold of the doctors associate who said I could call him four days after the scan and he would know what was going on and if necessary get Bill right in to see the doctor. So until then we cross our fingers he has no problems. He says he feels good but I've noticed he isn't as active as he usually was and sometimes he gets very tired. We were hoping to take a little RV trip to a cooler area for a couple of weeks, but decided against it. He doesn't need any extra strain on his heart. Besides the gas here is still over 5.50. So we wait...
Into a Vegas summer already have over 20 100+ days. Going to be a hot one I think. Not walking any more, at 5:;30 in the morning it is already 89/90 degrees out.
So found a pattern for a Christmas wall hanging I'm going to play with. I'm lacking two inches of material for the finishing touches so on to Joann's today, hope they still have it. Also going to Walmart hoping they have some jigsaw puzzles, I'm on my last one.
Not much else going on here.

How can it be the 1st already?
Never thought about chocolate having caffeine - but it does. I can only drink coffee prior to noon, but never thought about restricting chocolate. Will probably help in other ways beyond just sleeping.
Sheila, I can't even imagine staying up to 1 or 3 am. For me, the early morning hours are my "me" time - probably a hold-over from raising kids & working.
Had both grands yesterday afternoon. They got along well, & Jordi even got his usual nap in - but gosh, I was tired when I took them home. Went to bed around 8 & woke up to fireworks going off close-by. I thought it was around midnight - nope! it was only 9:30! They're starting earlier & earlier - Fireworks are illegal but that doesn't stop anyone around here.

No special plans for the weekend... just chill & enjoy my free time.
Hope everyone stays safe & cool.
Happy July!

Good morning ladies~

Halfway through my post, it disappeared while I was still typing, so I'll try again.

Shirl, I can understand why you enjoy going to the Crab Deck, watching the boats going through the Narrows and the gorgeous view of the Eastern Bay.

Carol, You put your puzzles together so quickly! I especially liked the last one you did.

Catherine, like you, I'm long in bed by the time Sheila posts. I occasionally stay up until 11:00, but that's not often, but I do get up at or before 5:00.

It's 90 degrees and we may get a few degrees warmer. I remembered Rabbits this morning. Our congregation is having hotdogs & hamburgers after the service and everyone is asked to bring a side. On Monday, the community we live in is also having hotdogs & hamburgers with everyone bringing sides.

Have a good and safe 4th of July weekend.

Check in time. Jane went to enough dog shows till the moon and stars (and entries) lined up, and she finished her AKC Grand Championship in Morgantown, WV. She needed just one more three point major and came home with three four point majors and a three point major on the last day. Just a bit of over achieving. She is thinking about entering a UKC show in NE Ohio later this on this month so that she can finish her UKC GRCH and be done with using up the weekends that Lark needs to enter Rally trials. Lark has been very patient. Jane is going next week to get her hips x-rayed and be ready to find a handsome,, suitable suitor. She has already completed all her other genetic testing but evaluation of hips are recommended for after they turn two.

Like Shirlv, I can't figure that what I do most days is of interest. Somedays I value getting up in the morning a good achievement. I have been making doctor appointments, trying and discontinuing new medications that had side effects that by body didn't appreciate. I know that my files probably have "non-compliant" written in the margins. I am switching my main provider in August and doing some reading...when I am not napping or busy avoiding unpleasant tasks. It takes me forever to research ideas and make decisions but some of the rabbit holes I fall into are interesting. Unrelated topic: the Chiropractor that worked on Lark and Jane worked on my own back in June and it was helpful. He is retired military and still gets called up to work for/on Marines but in his retirement he much prefers to work on animals and will agree to work on their owners when asked. He just completed training for certification to work on Zoo animals. He already works on dogs, cats, horses, Llamas, goats..... Interesting man with many stories.

I have a reservation for a state park in WV to attend a family reunion/gathering of my cousin's large family and keep thinking about heading out to New England and the Canadian eastern provinces later this summer or early fall but am reluctant to go until I have a better idea of what my body is doing which means waiting around for more doctor appointment and evaluations. Now back to some reading and polishing up on my ability to procrastinate.

Anybody else enjoying Kerri's posts and pictures on Facebook relating her summer work experience in Skagway, Alaska? Now that is an adventure!

Hello Everybody, I’m checking in from Connecticut. Sad to say my little Roadtrek group here in CT is losing one Roadtrek. My first buddy is selling her Trek. It took awhile for me to accept that she is no longer able to drive, let alone a camper van.
My Trek is still parked in the back yard with a dead battery. Haven’t been motivated to get it fixed as my little group has no camping plans.
Judy, happy to hear that you returned safely. I enjoy reading about your adventures and admire your gumption to do them on your own. Keep on….
Carol, sorry to hear about Bill’s heart issues. Hopefully they can be fixed so you can enjoy another RV adventure. Are you returning to Mexico? I plan to be in Kino Bay October 1st.

I read everybody’s posts, but can’t comment on all of them. I’m typing on my little I-Phone!
Enjoy today. Peggy

Goodness, don’t know where my morning went not to mention the month of June! Time does fly! I finally got to pick up my new car on Tuesday. Being without a car for about 2 weeks was let’s say, interesting. I took Lola out twice for chiropractor appointments but otherwise didn’t use her for just general running around. With all the extra technology on this new car is going to take some time to figure out. Much of which I’ll probably never use. I was supposed to get it last week but the truck broke down somewhere on 80 and the driver had to rent a car to get back to the factory for another truck so it was delayed until this week. The dealer here went above and beyond to get it as soon as possible for me. It wasn’t supposed to be in until today so I probably wouldn’t have had it until next week. So otherwise I’ve just been working around the house and trying to keep up with the yard work and house. And a lot of wondering where the day went! The weather seems to be finally warming up so I guess we can say summer has arrived! We do need some rain (forecasted for tonight into tomorrow) since the yard is starting to dry up so not having to mow as often. So concentrating on weed pulling. Weeds seem to grow no matter what! Judy, glad to see you were able to get home with not much trouble. Anita, your adventure sounds like fun. I’ve been reading everyone’s posts and just hope everyone gets through illnesses and all. Thoughts are with you all. Tina, congrats on the wins with the pup. I keep saying I want a getaway but so far with everything happening it hasn’t happened! Maybe this month! Got a couple medical appointments to deal with and then I’ll see what happens. For sure not going anywhere this next week with the holiday. Campgrounds are booked solid. Have a happy 4th of July and stay safe.

Good morning all. Finished some outside chores and now time to get some lunch. Having beer sausage, baked beans and some potato salad. Making a taco salad for dinner.

Shirl, Caffeine doesnt seem to bother me I think I am immune. Your lunch dates sound so good. I just salivate at the name Crab Deck. Since seafood is my most favorite food ever. Carol sure hope they decide on the best way to manage Bills issues. No rabbits for me today. I think I am still stuck in June.. Sheila I am never up past 9 or 10. I am usually up around 5 or 6 sometimes earlier and sometimes a little later. I love having my mornings in peace and quiet before my day starts. Like having the news on, and reading emails and computer stories while I sip on my favorite coffee of the day. Tina sounds like Jane has had an awesome show history. And Lark has been very patiently waiting for her turn. Sharon so glad you finally got your car. I dread buying a new car one day just because of the technology it moves way faster than I do.

Nothing much going on here this weekend. Kind of suits me. I really am a homebody at heart. That, and I do like my own company. Darn good thing too.

I said rabbits soon after midnight but son and I were talking. So just hope rabbits worked. He has a telemedicine visit today which was switched from office to phone a few days ago and ignores the fact that he was to have an in office drug screen today before she writes new RX that he is almost out of and the fact that she asked me to bring her paperwork that I now have to find a way to get to her that's acceptable to her! Grrrr!
That's awesome Jane has achieved her championships and now Lark will follow in her chosen field of endeavor!
Sure wish I could go camping but I continue to defer to my elderly feline pals. Both were at vet yesterday for checkup, and Stormy is still angry at all of us, including her sister! Supposed to start her on gabapentin for her arthritis pain and a over active nerve system which makes her feel pain worse than usual, but, for now, I'm not going to set her back by trying to handle her. Will give her another 24 hours to calm down. I was able to get her CBD in this morning, which seems to make her feel better. Had it in her mouth before she got her hisser going, so she stared and hissed as I stepped away, giving me the how dare you look and comment! Progress-While I was at Curves, Chris followed her to my room where their filtered fountain is and she took a big long drink. Progress because yesterday evening she would come to the doorway, see Mandy and I on the bed, and leave hissing the whole way back to living room! Hard to believe they are cousins, since Mandy is so mellow!
I mostly avoid caffeine and never drink coffe (don't like it), and most of my tea is herbal. I do eat chocolate occasionally and green tea once in a while, but my tolerance for caffeine remains pretty low, as in, a big glass of ice tea at a restaurant for dinner, will have me awake hours past my bedtime, so I try not to do that! There is a small amount of green tea powder in my pre workout drink, but that helps my workout and does not last through day into evening.
I no longer garden, which I used to enjoy, but now have so many bad effects from so many plants, that it's just not worth my time! But I sure enjoy reading what some of you grow!
Carol, I sure hope they get Bills issues figured out. Will pray for you both.
I need to get set up for sons telemedicine appointment because I have a feeling we will have to leave for the office after anyhow!
Have a good weekend everyone and happy 4th. I know I'll be hearing illegal fireworks every night until middle of next week, just hope they don't start at 01 again, waking me up!

Hiya forum friends, it’s been awhile, my time is very busy caring for Elders. Haven’t been away from the ranch for many moons. No fireworks in our county, but legal in next north. It’s crazy. We will celebrate with ribs and corn on the cob. Dad’s lift recliner needs attention but tech can’t come out til Tues. we are praying it lasts til then as he spends many hours a day. I am following Kerry adventure vicariously; and often check in on y’all. Best for a good July!

I'm allergic to caffeine. Coffee or tea or sodas with it added can be scary situations. The amount of caffeine in the cocoa bean doesn't effect me unless I eat way too much chocolate. I usually have a couple little pieces of dark chocolate every night. When people add coffee to their chocolate cake, I'll get quite ill so rarely will try a restaurant's chocolate cake.

Cross your fingers that my saying rabbits just after midnight last night might work. I think I've found a housekeeper that could replace the nightmare housekeeper I currently have.

sure hope Beth that you have found your housekeeper.... it seems like there are help wanted all over the place but no one wants to work...
chocolate is my vice hot chocolate or candy Beth you won't find coffee in my chocolate cake
Sharon so glad that you got your car.... I can't imagine what the new tech on it is... my youngest car has so many of those it's confusing... fortunately I've never had to drive it  she has this thing where it almost feels like you are lifting off really does a number on the tummy...
had supper all planned was going to be bacon and pancakes with eggs turned on the oven to heat up for the bacon and pulled it out of the fridge looked at it and several places of mold grr... so looked and couldn't find what looked good at that moment I regretted giving nephew the pot pie... oh well grabbed the coupon's and went to Subway haven't had a Subway in can't remember how long... find out they don't accept the coupon's at this Subway.... the only reason I went to Subway was because of the coupon.... next time I'll go somewhere else...
my claim to fame today was knotting a couple of inches and listening to the pod caste telling stories of the pioneers... really enjoy hearing them...
oh while eating breakfast the door bell rang so went to see who was here... opened door and it was my youngest brother no cane no walker doing really well... it's been a month since his knee surgery he is doing really well.... I do wonder if he will be able to mount a horse but he did say he was thinking about taking a couple more months off... I'm actually wondering if he will go back to work he is old enough to retire but he has always been a workaholic so really can't imagine him retiring just yet...
at this moment have no plans for anything this weekend... hoping my kids in Idaho will say lets do something but they have a house to build so doubt that it will happen...
Carol so hope that all is well with Bill and it is stints that are needed
by now I've forgotten all that was said to reply back and finished another book
oh did get the two plants planted
well I think I will say good night... you all have a great day

Getting in here just under midnight!
When I was younger, I would be in bed by 10pm or so and up by 8am. Now I am more like my mom, staying up reading until 1 or 2 in the morning, sometimes later, and then sleeping until 10am. Of course, when I work, I have to get up before 8am.

I have been thinking for quite awhile about learning how to do proofreading to make some money on the side from home. There is an on-line course that I have checked out that sounded pretty good. They had the course at over 50% off this week for a 4th of July deal, so I decided to sign up. I started it today. Will take a couple months to finish it and then get a certificate. I have always been a grammar snob so I think I will be good at this. Will also benefit my autobiography writing skills. So if any of you (Anne) would like some free proofreading done so I can get some practice, let me know! :D

I took a nap this afternoon after I got one of the new tables set up on the porch. It was so hot out there but I got it done pretty quickly. Just need to get the other small table out of there and back in my kitchen area so I can get the second long table in it's spot. Then I can start getting my gourd stuff organized (Sheila, yes, I will have to do it before it cools off or I will be waiting until October!). I think I will temporarily get a vinyl tablecloth to put on the tables to protect the soft tops for now, until I come up with a better idea.

Back to work tomorrow but I get off at 2pm so will be a short day! Yay! I usually get stuck with the long 9-6 shift on Saturdays. I think after next week, we will be staying open during the week until 6pm instead of 5. Not looking forward to those longer days. I do well up to 6 hours but after that I get tired and a little sore (back, shoulders, wrist, etc).

Good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Wouldn't you know it, I missed the 1st but did manage to say Rabbits. I am here in Canada and the 1st was Canada Day.
Not too much going on here. I have been taking Joey to dog training classes for 5 weeks now. He catches on quickly and the instructor adores him. It is not formal obedience training but a very relaxed way of getting them to do what you want. Now if only I could be trained to do the homework with him.
It has been a slow Summer up here. A lot of rain and temperatures not much above 70 for highs.I am enjoying spending time with family and friends.
Carol, I will keep Bill in my prayers. Glad to hear everyone else is well.
Keep healthy and safe Y'all.
