Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday Succeses

First, I got everything into my suitcase!! Did not have to even expand it. Then I dropped off the car and they took me to train station. Only glitch was at hotel when I lost car keys and found them in room trash can after much searching.

But I am on the train and it is almost to London so all in all things are going well!

Good morning, have said my prayers for your safe return Judy. We have a storm blowing in this morning, don't know if it will amount to much. We really need some rain. Yesterday's storm didn't do much at all. Today I shall do a deep clean on the kitchen, it needs it, I saw spider webs! Lol
Patrick did not get his bath yesterday, I will try to get that done too. My growbags arrived yesterday, now I need to get soil for them but not today, I have enough to do with scouring the kitchen. I bought an ice cream maker a few weeks ago and about ready to make another batch in the next couple days. Will try a different recipe than last time as it was too sweet, but sure was good!
Time to get started on my routine. Y'all have a great day.

Good Morning Judy,, Ava and all. Glad to hear all went well this morning Judy. Ava, hope you get some rain. Bit cloudy here this morning, but sun is trying to break through. 67° and a nice breeze blowing. Supposed to go up into the 80s today. Another round of the hot weather for a couple of days and then we are going back down to normal on Sunday.

Gonna be spending a little green today. Need a few things from the store, then heading out to the strawberry farm as berries are ready. Nothing better than fresh picked Michigan strawberries. They grow in such good conditions here, warm (not hot) days and cool nights make for juicy sweet berries. Then swing by local Farmers market to see if anybody has eggs and up to the wholesome food deli place for some of their pizza hot pockets. They make them once a month and they go fast. So going to be a foodie day today.

Had a consultation with electrical contractor regarding getting a standby generator installed. Waiting final estimates. So might be one in my future here. With climate changing like it is, will probably come in handy. Peace of mind.

Good morning,
Typical Minnesota weather. Cold damp spring that morphed into dry hot summer. The air conditioner, in both the pickup and house went on the fritz. One hundred degree heat Sunday and Monday stressed out the house system. Fortunately both were able to be serviced and are back to functioning correctly. We don't use the house ac all that much but it's the hot humid nights that require it. Our garden is starting to produce . We moved the strawberry patch into the main garden and for some unknown reason the plants flourish there and only barely grew where we had them growing before. Have had cereal and strawberries for breakfast everyday this week. I live in cental Minnesota near Clearwater and Silver Creek. In both communities this early summer there have been bears caught on camera raiding bird feeders and garbage cans. Three times they have been filmed. All are young bears. The Mississippi river is only about 2 miles north of us as the crow flies and I think they wander along the river. I have a dentist appointment this morning. I had hoped to wait until next January and get to Mexico but can't go without an upper plate until then. This is the second time I cracked it so have to get a new one. I bought a three wheeled adult trike at our church garage sale. It is locked in third gear so we need to take it in to a bike repair shop. The only repair shop has some poor reviews about how long it takes to complete service. John can put a new cable on and so he is going to order one through the repair shop and do the work himself. Instead of taking the entire trike to the shop he removed the handle bars so he will take the handle bars with both shift cable and brake cable hanging loose in . It is really nice to have a husband who is so talented when it comes to repair work. Time to get ready for my dentist appointment. Enjoy the summer weather all. Camp grounds in Minnesota are full

Morning All, the sun is shining but will bring back the high humidity. Judy, glad you made the train ride. Praying for your smooth travel back home. Wasn’t going to post but feel better after the walk with Sue and her pups. As always looking and thinking on the net. Saw an advertisement for a perfect tiny house for me. Too bad they are not permitted anywhere local. Had nice chicken and stuffing dinner and there are three more dinners in the freezer. If I were wealthy, I would developer a village of tiny houses for retired rving women. We could have pretend campfires in a pavilion that had cushioned seats. Lol Be safe

Good Morning, We are supposed to have a break in the heat starting Sunday I'm ready! It did cool off yesterday evening and I took Pippa for a short walk. I checked the road (blacktop)surface and driveway (concrete) and both were cool. We were only out about 10 minutes and most of the time she sat nice while I talked to the neighbor who gave her three small treats. I always carry treats in case we do meet someone as she is very shy.
As soon as we came in she was promptly sick. She was fine after the one incidence but I'm puzzled as to whether it was too hot for her or if she was upset over the socialization.

Barbie, I think a van would be a good option. I have driven Toyota mini vans since 2000 when I sold my Toyota truck. I'm on my second one now which is a 2015 and I hope to drive it several more years as I only have 46,000 miles on it. I've needed few repairs on any of the Toyota's I've owned, but I do keep up with regular maintenance. The back seat on mine folds flat into the floor and on one trip across country I took out one of the second row seats.

Rita, do you loan out your DH  I have to hire everything done around here as mine was raised in the city. I am in charge of finding/supervising the fix it people. Glad you found a place your strawberries are happy with, I love strawberries. I mash them and freeze them in glass jars and they taste close to fresh.

Lyn you might want to read up on the personalities of which breed small dog you might like especially if you have small children who visit. Some are easier to train and handle than others. I hope your daughter will come to understand how much company a dog would give you. My little one uses piddle pads and doesn't really need walks as she is so small just running around the house is enough. She sleeps in a crate beside my bed at night and will go potty on her paper when I tell her it's time. Most good breeders will start potty training as soon as they can and if you wait and get one at least 12 weeks old it may be fully trained.

Shirl I like your idea I hope you win the lottery!

Sue every time we have really hot or cold weather I swear we are going to get a new generator. We bought one in 2008 after the bad storm here but it only lasted until just past the warranty. I think they have really improved over the years but then so has the cost! This heat wave may push me into a decision!

I'm not moving very fast this morning, still in PJ's. I fed the outside cats and made a potato salad. I had some boiled eggs left over from the camping trip so wanted to use them. I think I had as many bad potatoes as good ones. You can buy 10 pounds of potatoes for only about $1.50 more than 5 pounds but I can't even get through 5 pounds without most of them going bad.

Judy, glad your trip is going good so far. It's not looking good for people flying. They show so many flights being cancelled on TV.

Sue, I would like to have one of the generators but I don't lose power all that often. Since I have to evacuate for the storms the power is usually back on by the time I can make it home. It would be a big expense just to run the refrigerator and freezer for a few days. I think at some point I'm going to have to move North whether I want to or not.

Rita, I had bought one of the three wheel trikes one time thinking I could ride it to the barn but it was really hard to peddle if it wasn't on pavement. Now it sits on the carport with the battery charger for the golf cart in the basket. The charger is heavy so I use the trike to move it around. There were some at the last campout with little battery operated scooters or bikes.

Shirl, the chicken and stuffing dinner sounds good. I'll have to see if I can find a recipe for that. I probably have one saved in my notes. Yesterday I bought a small crawfish pie at one of the specialty grocery stores. It was kind of expensive but large enough to make 2 meals. I think I'll bake it for lunch instead of going to town for fried fish.

Barbie, I don't know what kind of gas milage your jeep gets but the ford van I had only got about 18 mpg. The smaller vans probable get better gas milage. I would like to have one of the new high top Ford vans but good grief, they are over $50,000.

Charlie is in the cage again so guess I better go let him out.

Martha, Barbzees recipe is on page 19 in the recipe section. I like to cook on high for 4 hours so food doesn’t turn to mush.I think I have tried all of her recipes and liked all.

Thank you Shirl, I'll look the recipe up. I baked my crawfish pie but don't have any cookie dough to bake. :( I won't buy what I need to make a batch of cookies. We'll see how long I can hold out.

Well, it is just noon and so far I have spilled a full glass of milk on my bed, stripped the bed to wash, and set up and filled the new aquarium and waiting for the water to get to a good temp and the filter to clean up anything from the tap water. I do add stuff to make the water safe to add fish. My tap water this time of year comes out hot. There is no cold option when it is over 100* outside. So am waiting for the water in the tank to come down from 85* to about 74* before I transfer Karma into it. He is gonna be so happy! :D

(I still have a tall red plant to add but I seemed to have misplaced it  )

Got my laundry done AND put away! Got my bed made, and got Karma in his new home. He seems a little overwhelmed but he will be doing zoomies before long!

Was in the mood for pizza tonight so I ordered one from Dominoes since I no longer like Ceasars pizza. Well, this pizza was sure nothing to write home about either. Tasted like a frozen pizza. Haven't had any good pizza out here. Much better pizza back in MN.

I am posting a photo of the little red Asian style cabinet I got for free a few weeks ago here in the park. It isn't very big so I should be able to find a good spot for it. I might paint the handles on the doors and drawer black or gold so they show up better.

Image

Judy, I hope you get home without any issues now.

Martha, my Jeep gets about 18 mpg city and 22 hwy, so not much difference from a van. I would like one that I could pretty much stand up in (I am 5' 5'') and not have to crawl around in.

Generators are a good thing to get BEFORE you need it. Whenever there is an emergency situation, the first thing stores run out of is generators and I am sure the prices are not cheap then either. If I did travel with a van, I would probably get one of those Jackery power stations with a portable solar panel or two just to keep lights, fan, electronics, etc charged and running.

Have a good night!

just got a text from my #2 dd asking if they came to dinner on Sunday would I make salmon patties and
Belgium fries.... they like to have that menu close to when Larry passed away... if not on the day of today is the 10th anniversary of his death... still miss him in someways it seems like forever ago and in other ways it seems like just yesterday....
Tonight's movie I can leave in the middle of just saw it not long ago on the Thursday Christmas movie... I still maintain they shouldn't have to have reruns so often with all the movies that they have...
I read about a bear that got into someone's car and because of the heat died.. they reminded folks to not leave stuff in cars with a scent even the fresh car scents they don't differentiate what is good to eat or not just go by smell and they have a marvelous sense of smell.... :o bears must have been the topic of news on yahoo saw another one where they were talking about their local famous bear... a black can't remember the amount but several sets of quads... and this year has another set of 4.... we haven't hear much of 399 this season as she is without her quads booted them out this year... it will be interesting how many she shows up with next year....
Yellowstone has reopened... going by a license plate odds on one day even on the other and sticking to it from what I've read... it might be a plan they ought to consider forever... guess it's resulting in fewer people daily so easier to see and get around... never been one to want it to be controlled but I know GTNP is bad can only imagine what the big park is like.... there is a lake that I love to go to here in GTNP but the parking is so bad that you can't even get close to it... :(
Hopefully Judy you will make all your connections ok...
my youngest is putting her house up for sale in July with plans to move to PNW it will seem strange to have her so far away...
Lyn some times asking for forgiveness is easier than asking for permission.... I too hope she realizes how much company a dog or cat gives a person.... I came into mom's knowing that she doesn't really like dogs in the house so knew that I wouldn't be getting one for awhile but sure miss that companionship....
there was something that I was going to say and now it's flown away
you all have a great night...

Sheila, Yellowstone had to do the license plate thing because only half of the park is open (south loop) so they can only handle half of the people going in there. The north loop will be closed for a long time. They have a lot of roads to rebuild/relocate and at least one bridge to rebuild, so that will take quite awhile.

I got one of my 3 tables in the porch moved away from the back wall. That stays in the porch but on the other side. Another table will go back into the kitchen area where it was before. The 3rd table is a folding table that I will put in the shed for now. That will make room for the 2 new 2X4 ft tables to go all along that wall. They have straight legs so there will be lots of room under them to put my plastic drawer bins under them. Will keep working out there little by little since it is so hot.
