Cool Thursday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cool Thursday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Thu Jun 23, 2022 5:57 am

Morning all. Cool 48° Here this morning. The so called hot Weather predicted for this week turned into a one day affair and I don’t think anybody’s complaining. Was in low 80’s on Monday, but low humidity and dewpoints. But Tuesday, the dewpoints went up and it got a bit muggy and Into the low 90’s. Had to haul out my free standing AC. Plus had my carpets cleaned, so was a tad damp in the house, since carpets don’t dry much when house is cool. But cold front came through Tuesday, kicked out the humidity/dewpoint levels and yesterday was a beautiful day. High in 70’s. Supposed to be same today and then going up for the weekend again.

This kind of Weather really kick starts my energy level and I got chores done outside yesterday. Flowers watered, side yard grass mowed and started back on the picket fence project I am making out of fence pallets. And a final coat of primer on my woodcraft project parts Then took a nice enjoyable walk with the dogs.

Barbie, glad you are are feeling better. Irmi, bet the pavers look nice. I would love to put a paver sidewalk to my porch from drive, but costs to much. Hope you gals in CA get some rain.

Would like to get back to work on my fence project, but meeting a friend for lunch, which was postponed from yesterday, so won’t start into that this morning. Need to pick up a few things from the store too, so no projects today.

So you all have a nice day out tbere.

Morning Sue, gloom and rain all day. Been a yuck week. No projects, don’t feel like reading or watching tv, you know the feeling. Guess everyone feels like me because very little traffic outside my window. The bright spot of my day will be Barbzee’s chicken and stuffing in the crockpot for dinner. Judy, I watched a show about long boats and traveling through locks. The boat lift is amazing and scary, I don’t like heights. Irmi, if you get pavers we need pictures. Sue, looking forward to your Peepers. Got a picture of great granddaughter in her lifeguard swimsuit, she could be on Baywatch. Lol I remember when the two of us were laying on my bed watching Dolphin Tales and eating popcorn. Time passes so quickly. Be safe

Good morning. Sunshine everywhere this morning. We are heading into a heat wave this weekend. Sat Sun and Monday will all be in the 90's. I need to go out pretty soon and water my plants. I also bought some bone meal for the tomatoes as they LOVE calcium. So will spread that around them then water.

I have an appt with a new eye doc here in Roseburg. Their office is in Eugene but there are 4 docs that do the injections and rotate thru several of the outlying areas. I had an appt for Monday and they called to see if I could come Friday morning. You betcha. Also made an appt with an internal medicine practice the end of July, to get established here in Roseburg. I just dont want to keep having to go to Medford for healthcare. Now, I do have to keep my Rheumatologist but I only see him every 6 months so that is doable. Trying to settle in up here. Healthcare is a bit iffy up here but luckily my insurance allows me to doctor jump if I dont like one I can just move on. Feeling kind of blah today. Not sick just blah.

Good morning ladies
My chore for the day will be a bath for Patrick, not so much for his body but it's the easiest way to get his face washed and keep the goobers out of his eyes. He accepts the face wash during bath time but. Otherwise he fights it. It's all that fluff around his eyes just collects stuff.
Spent the day watching movies yesterday, a movie called Greenland, a current times disaster movie. Good movie. Also about 6 episodes of Alias. It was a series spy show and got the whole series from Jon Valentine last time he came to visit. He bought acreage up out of Showlow and St John's
area, 37 acreas in an off grid area. He bought a fifthwheel and sheds, etc and started building his homestead. It's a 3 and a half hr drive and I do go visit on occasion. There was a heatwave up there a few weeks ago and he was afraid the solar panels would not support the air conditioner. He came down here where there's electricity. Lol
My son bought an old pace arrow and they live out in the desert north of town. I worry about him all the time. He works everyday but gas prices are killing them for running the generator.
About time for breakfast and start in on Alias series again, y'all have a great day.

Morning Sue, and all who follow.

Sue, your pavers comment made me smile. I am addicted to YouTube do-it-yourself videos, and I ran across these two vids on DIY pavers a while back. Various kinds of concrete molds are available (who knew?). Something to think about in your "spare time" (LOL - you are probably one of the busiest people I know).

Good morning, Ava - so nice to see you here regularly posting again. You were missed.

I saw Greenland a while back, and I quite enjoyed it. Good movie, for sure.

It almost never rains here in northern California in summer, amd we will have around 100° each day for at least a week. No humidity here, for sure! Today I have glass company coming at 1:30 to replace the middle fixed square panel that cracked. So, at hottest time of day, AC will be off and a 4x4 opening for a while with sun blazing in from west towards it! But they said only 2 hours, so keeping fingers crossed it goes smoothly. Sean finished some stuff in pantry yesterday and we discovered some damage on bottom shelf, so after glass guys leave, we will head to Home Depot to get some panels to glue over damaged shelves and other supplies. Decided if we top shelves with melamine panels, it will reinforce the small damaged areas and make a nice durable surface. Once the shelves are done, I can bring canned and jarred food back in from sunroom and get sunroom ready for Sean to finish it out- repairs to unfinished Sheetrock and tape, texture walls, hang ceiling fan, paint, stain and put up window sills and trim. Then flooring. It's been painted plywood, way too long! We built, insulated, wired, and sheetrocked this room around 1990, but Mel was in so much pain for so long, that it never got completed. I'll finally have my beautiful sunroom to sit and drink a cup of tea and look out over my acre.
Have a good day all.

Ava I'm fighting the drippy eyes with Pippa. I keep seeing that Probiotics help so think I will start giving her some. The Zesty Paws prebiotic bites look well reviewed. I use little rounded scissors and cut some of the hair away but can only do that if they don't wiggle :) She is 8 months old and only weighs 10 pounds. I don't think she will get any bigger. Patrick is sure a cutie wish you were near Pippa needs a playmate. My other two dogs can't be trusted with her.

Good Afternoon, darling picture of Pippa BJ.
No, Irmi. The daughter in NH has not mentioned one word about Millie.
Now I keep thinking I want a dog. A Chihuahua so I don’t have to take it walking. Haven’t mentioned that to my daughter yet.
Our weather has been very nice the past couple of days.

My apologies. I read the forum usually early then late as I fall asleep reading. I want to comment but forget who said what, etc. But I love reading all the posts. So thank you everyone. It's my day off but I've been running errands for both me and the motel. I just went outside to replace my broken water pressure regulator and big raindrops came down. We've been hoping for rain so I hurried and got the new one on and got inside. Of course within a couple minutes the rain stopped. I'm wanting to get laundry going but think I'll put it together and do it while working tomorrow as I need to gather the quarters and roll them. I exchanged $200 in rolled quarters at the bank for bills today.

Ty's napping and it looks good but I know a nap would keep me from sleeping tonight.

I went to Lafayette today and made the usual stops, Petsmart and T J Maxx. I found some blue jean shorts at T J Maxx. I passed the latin restaurant I went to with my meetup group so picked up a patacone. That's a sandwich where they use fried plantains for the bread. I'm not sure what all they put on it but it's really good.

It rained hard for about 15 minutes and I got 1/4 inch of rain. Any rain helps. It was 100 before the rain and the rain made it steamy. I think it's suppose to be even hotter tomorrow. It's suppose to be a little cooler next weekend. I hope so.

Mom made it back today... they left late so he had to leave fairly quickly but did take a few to repair the board on the deck it's a temp fix I believe as he needs a different board think my sil was one that he will either come and fix the spot or will have someone else fix it not sure as they talked out of hearing
did a few things today... I vacuumed watered plants opened my P'C box got mail (here we have to go to the post office) and took pictures of the condo... hopefully it was what the bank needed
feels cool tonight but it's a balmy 73 according to the computer...
put in my two rows on the crocheted afghan and took out 4 and a half  some errors I can overlook a hole is not one of them not sure what happened I had to cut out a bad spot in the yarn and it was were I added in the yarn so not sure what happened...I know tonight I cut ends not sure if that was what happened or not... oh these things happen... I don't have a deadline which is good cause I would be way late by now didn't do a lot on it while I was in Utah.
wishing I had my poncho on it was warmer in Utah and I still wore it some.,.
I think I remember the series Ava... but not sure it just sounds familiar
the Hallmark schedule is off no Murder she Wrote now a movie has started and I won't want to just leave in the middle of it... they are doing their week of Christmas movies only to have a month of it later...
there are so many DYI projects..... agree that if Sue wanted to she could do it  my dd painted her kitchen a few years ago and she found a way to redo her counter tops think it was with cement but don't remember for sure... they still look good...
glad you are feeling better Barbi and glad to see you Beth been wondering... this part of the world is in bad way when it comes to water.... we need it so bad
you all have a great day

Just getting into bed.

I have been reading that Lake Mead is so low that it may no longer go over the dam to generate power. Most of the reservoirs in the west are shockingly low now.

I am thinking about selling my Jeep and getting a van that I can set up for camping/traveling in. I won't be able to afford to buy a Class C or trailer for awhile so that would allow me to take some road trips and not have to stay at motels every night. Just throwing around that idea for now. Lots of good YouTube videos on how to set those up. I think I can get close to $9K for my Jeep (once I get the locks and wipers fixed).

Turns out that Palm Springs got almost a half inch of rain yesterday and we got about 6 drops here. That is how it usually goes. But at least I got to enjoy some thunder.

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
