Hotter Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Hotter Tuesday

Postby Colliemom » Tue Jun 21, 2022 8:47 am

Good Morning all. Sitting here while my carpets are being cleaned. 76° already at 9:25 a.m. Supposed to ge in low 90’s today. But only for todsy as temps will drop back into low 80’s and the i to more normal 70’s by weeks end. They haven’t said much about humidity though, but there will be some I’m sure, at least for today. We’ll be firing up my portable AC later. Right now I have the house open letting the morning breeze in.

Alice, , welcome back. Glad to hear you are doing okay. Martha, nice pics from the GTG. Judy, hope all goes well for your last few days of your trip and you arrive back in the States, safe and sound.

Haven’t been up to much these days especially with the hot weather right now. Can’t do anything outside for the most part. Did get watering done, a bit of weeding and blew off the drive earlier this morning. Might head to town after the carpet guys are gone. Looking for a Dremel type tool for my woodcraft projects. Need some small sanding bits for hard to get Into areas. So will go see what’s out around here. Have a ton of batteries and batteries for my Ryobi tools, so will probably stick with that brand

Speakng of reading. I like Westerns. J.A. Johnstone being my favorite. So many of his novels are based around actual old west towns and having been to some, I can picture the exact places. Plus they get suspenseful as they go on. Can’t put down the one I am reading right now. I also will grab a Debbie McComber one once in awhile.

So that’s it from this end. Have a nice day all.

Morning Sue, I am still enjoying the low humidity weather. Judy, the church is a beautiful work of art. Judy, I know you have a thing about ceilings and I appreciate the craftsmanship too but what did they sit on. The Italians improvised with lighting, etc so wondered about seating. Fingers crossed that you get home safe. Martha, women do know how to have fun. Lol There is a man in a bucket hanging next to my balcony. I hear spraying so hope it is just water. Another day of odds and ends chores. Be safe

Good morning ladies, all my morning chores are done, groceries too and those are even put away. AC is running already even though it's not that hot out. Will work on a few indoor projects today. Maybe get the ramp finished for Patrick. Stairs is an issue for him sometimes. He's very good at training me to do his bidding. I've seen him clear the sewer pipe like a horse on the hunt but wants me to come get him at the 5" step. I chuckle and do it. Off to get some inside chores done, cutting boxes for recycle I guess. Y'all have a great day.

Occasionally drizzly, but high was 64 today, and I have seen a lot of people wearing shorts, so I put mine on!! Took off one layer of jackets, also. I did not do much today because I have two nights in this motel, but I did wander around town and bought some bubble wrap and tape to wrap an item I bought that is fragile. It is three sheep looking over a wire fence, and I really like it. Will post photo one of these days. Also washed out two pairs of pants and two shirts yesterday and then dried them on the heated towel rack. Tonight I washed out two more shirts and a couple of pairs of undies. They will be dry tomorrow, so I will pack them.

I have only two nights in hotels left before I have to turn in my car and catch a train on Friday morning. Hope it really goes! Also, finally found a reasonably priced hotel in London for Friday night. Everything except 250-400 GBP hotels are full, but this must have been a cancellation because that hotel had been full previously.

Getting a bit tired of UK TV. Mostly, they have a lot of game shows and shows around fixing up homes. One is a contest about whose B&B rooms are cleanest and most attractive. At least a couple of others have people go out and buy antiques or fix old things up and then sell them. Plus, the usual cooking shows--multiple of these featuring professional cooks, amateur cooks, and even children. There are some very old US movies, and an occasional rerun of a US program of sorts.

Nice to see you back, Alice!

Good morning!

We are to hit 81 today - pretty much skipped much in the 70s!

Didn't realize I was a bit behind with Judy's blog. Love that little church! Judy, I Googled Vauxhall. If the car has a button with an 'A' and a partial circle around it, if you push that, it will turn that feature off. Have to do it each time you start the car.

My potted hibiscus has some drooping older leaves. Didn't think it had been overwatered though the soil I used is to prevent that. It was quite wet in the bottom, but hasn't improved since I repotted it.

Kids and I ended up going to a new place for dinner last night in Cashmere just east of here. Best chicken quesadilla I've ever had and of course, brought 1/2 of it home. Went back to their place to sit by the river which has dropped and saw two deer across the way.

Off to get a haircut.

Hi ladies!

Judy, I have enjoyed flowing your blog and hope you don't have any problems getting back here. Alice, it's so good seeing you here again! Shirl, Sue, Sheila and so many others, I love reading your posts.

It's 90 degrees here today and that's just about the coolest it's been here for awhile. Our propane detector started going off this morning. Steve took care of the problem, but our coach is totally electric and our heat is electric, but at least it has stopped beeping.

Steve will make a pizza for dinner on his Egg. I scoop all the good stuff off the top to eliminate some of the carbs. Schwan's just stopped here, they come every other Tuesday, and we got some things we really like from them. They make meal preparation so easy.

Hi gals!

Slept in a little this morning. Still feel a little "off" in the first part of the day but then I feel much better once I move around some. I do get tired easily yet.

I did a haircut this afternoon and then took out the trash and recycling. Really was way behind on both! Glad that is done. Maybe do laundry tomorrow and set up the aquarium. Need to go to the grocery store too for a few things.

Also need to get caught up on Judy's blog. Irmi, I used to order from Schwan's but haven't for awhile now. I need to get back to that. They have some good food choices.

Gonna see what is on TV for tonight and then probably go to bed early.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

It was up to 99 today. I went to town and it looked like it was going to rain but it never did. My electric bill came in and it went from $89 to $142. It will probably be even higher next month. It's suppose to be in the 100's Friday and Saturday. Yesterday afternoon I kept waiting for it to cool off so I could mow. I finally started mowing but had to quit because I couldn't see what I was doing. I finished mowing this afternoon.

I use to love the Chicken Kiev from Schwan's but they don't come down here anymore. I think you can order from them and it's delivered like the other food services but I'm on a mission to get the freezer down for the summer. I might look into it in the fall. I have been known to run a Schwan truck down. lol

I washed the area rugs in the motorhome. I want to wash the floors before I put them back down. I want to bring the big vacuum out to the motorhome to pick up all the stuff that is flaking off the seats. I saw a post on Facebook from someone that ordered a stretch futon cover for their sofa. I think I will order one if I can find a good color. Need to start my list for next week going to the lake. They are having a potluck on Saturday and fireworks Saturday night. I plan on going either on Wednesday or Thursday so I can get parked before the crowd shows up. My sister is all excited about going fishing but I don't think there will be much fishing in 100 degree heat.

got stuff for s'mores read where you can cook them in the air fryer... so going to try that will be interesting to say the least... read two different ways of doing it will be interesting to see what is the best way for our type of A/F
been a busy day went to the temple then back to dd's and we then went to get a pedi then back to her house did scriptures then a nap the to Walmart and WINCO those on the west coast may recognize the store... only place I can find Zoom hot cereal was hoping that they had Chicken Jumbo soup but no haven't been able to find it and it's what I use for sloppy joes ... not sure where to look for it now... it's a condensed soup not the chunky type... then taco's for supper did finally remembered to get window washer fluid so it's now in dd's car...
so started on the computer later than normal not sure if I will crochet or not... want to pack up most of my stuff tonight was planning on leaving in late morning but dd's car wasn't ready and she has to do summer school... she was going to take her husband to work but I told her I would just leave a bit later and she could take the car I have that way she doesn't have to get up early and two trips out to where he works seems like a saving to me... and to be honest I probably wouldn't have gotten up and left much before she gets back at 12:30 and this way will have help taking stuff to the car...
cool enough I'm in my poncho again bit warmer than last night it's 68 but the window is open a little bit..
it's funny what we get used to... I am sure that some one from the United Kingdom wonders about our tv selections... I'll bet it is a bit of bittersweet for you Judy just seems like you just went over and now on your way back well almost.... hope that it works out well for your last couple of days...
boy I wish I retained more of what people posted... as I do read each and every post... by the time I go over what has happened it's flown out the window :?
you all have a great day
