Warming up Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Sue, that pathway is my idea of paradise! So beautiful! thanks for sharing it with us.
So sad about that 2 little ones. I'm paranoid since my son has a pool & Jordi is 2. They have a fence around it, but it still worries me.
Barbie, hope you feel better soon - keep us in the loop.

Mother Nature is not being kind this spring... high temps, flooding, tornados... Turns out a tornado touched down about a block from my old house in KS a couple of weeks ago. There were trees down everywhere. And here I am enjoying the cool evenings, nights & mornings & even daytimes are not terrible (yet!)

My grandma-care retirement will be a little short-lived. Son called today & asked if I could have my buddy the last week of June. They had planned an RV trip, but decided against it opting to spend more time at the lake house the following week. Since they hadn't originally signed Jordi up for preschool/daycare that week, they wondered if I was lonely yet. Of course, I'll take him. Maybe that'll motivate me to get more things done over the next couple of weeks.

Had my medicare 'wellness' check today. I'll live another year. I am seeing a new young doctor. I told her about my concern about only ordering tests or things that medicare will cover- their system must have checking built-in because some things she wanted to request (bone-density scan & pre-diabetes test) were flagged as not being covered so I told her not to order them. Hopefully their system is accurate - we'll see when the bills come in.

That's it for today.
Take care.

So much I want to reply to but am too tired. But Catherine, your doctors office is wrong about bone density scans. I know they are covered every two years and more often if, like me, you have osteoporosis. (But I don't bother more than every two years or so).

Weather is crazy. Been hotter than I want then temps dropped some last night and again tonight we'll see overnight reaching lows in the mid to upper 30's. Not as cold as you're saying though, Sheila. Supposed to be mid 80's for highs tomorrow, though.

Night all.

Anita, my finger has finally healed. I think today is the first day that it didn't hurt some. I think it was getting infected so I started soaking it in very warm water with epsom salt.

I just remembered poor Charlie was in the cage again. I put him in a cage to give him his special food so the other cats don't eat it. At least he won't have to spend the night.

I haven't been sleeping much so I'm in slow motion in the morning. I finally made it to Walmart to get the salad kits I wanted to bring camping. I found out the well pump wasn't working this afternoon. I talked to my neighbor and found out that the cows had broken a pipe at the barn the other day and they had fixed it. Never told me about it. We never could figure out why the pump wouldn't come on. My house is on the community water system so it's just the outside faucets and water troughs that are on well water. I'm going to let the guy that has the cows figure it out. That made me late getting the yard mowed but got it done before dark.

Catherine, it looks like pre-diabetes tests should be covered. It would be better to find that out before you have full blown diabetes. I need to find a doctor and do a wellness check. The only GP I knew in Abbeville must have moved because I don't see her listed anymore.

Was kind of a miserable day for me. Didn't sleep well last night and today have been so congested with coughing, sneezing and runny nose. Also my temp went up to 101* this afternoon. I was getting the sweats and then chills and then sweats again. Kept lowering and raising the AC temp in my room all day! Finally, my fever started coming down and is almost normal now (normal for me is 97.6. Always been that way). Headache is pretty much gone but still sneezing a lot.

I have never been a fan of ice in my drinks. I guess 'cause my teeth are kind of sensitive, and I get a frozen throat if I have anything with crushed ice. No slushies for me!

Still have an appetite which is good. Even made a few chocolate chip cookies tonight. Hope my nose quits dripping so I can get to sleep. It is almost 2am here now!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Doc in a box is any of those stan alone drop in type clinics where you can make an appointment or drop in, which do quick stuff like sore throats, CoVid testing and sometimes immunizatiins, minor cuts, ear infections, and other relatively minor complaints. Often open when you DR isn't such as evening and weekend hours, in addition to the days. Ours here names such as Med 7 and and Urgent Care. Nurses gave them the title Doc Ina box, years ago when these urgent care places popped up. They usually have Dr and or Nurse Practiotioner, and or Physicians Assostant known as PA.

Agree with Beth, Bone density is covered as well as blood sugar AND the A1C for diabetes screening! Often, I think, offices code stuff wrong, so they get rejected. Sometimes I have to fight to get them to fix codes.
