Good Morning! Sun and 53°here . Looking at possible showers today. Could use some, since hot weather is expected next week. This Sandy soil dries out fast.

Shirl, you can also go online to www.WinfieldCollection..com and order a pattern for the Raccoon. Thty have a bunch of different Fence Peeker patterns that are adorable. I order all my patterns online, never had a problem and They come pretty quick.

Velda,Winfield’s are the patterns I get all the time, mainly because I haven’t found another source to get any from. Do you know of others? Their patterns are really easy to use. Did you get your window fixed? That sounds to me like you had a temperature inversion. It was hot outside and if you had your shades down and AC running, the shades were insulating the window, making the glass warm from the sun. When you open the shades, the colder inside air meets the warm glass and causes it to shatter. I had that happen to me once, only in reverse. Sub zero weather and warm house. Inside pane like yours was. The glass company said it was temperature inversion. Fortunately in my case, it was a double hung window, so I just covered the shattered part with shrink plastic insulation and then took the window out when the weather warmed up and took it to get new glass.

Never got to my pattern cutting yesterday. By time I got moving, got the flowers watered and trimming done at the sub entrance, the got the pathway all done, it was after noon. Didn’t have too much energy yesterday, so just took the dogs for a walk and didn’t do much of anything else. They didn’t seem to have much oomph yesterday either.

But this morning, I’m heading to town, see if anybody's got eggs at Farmers Market and then run over to Walmart. Need a wall adapter for my new birthday present I got from some neighbors who house I watch over. They sent me a really nice charging device to charge my phone, I Pad and computer in event of a power outage. Can do three devices at once up to 10 charges. Not that I would do 3 at a time. So best get going, so I can get to the market. Have a nice dsy everybody.

Good morning Sue and All going to be a rainy weekend. It’s ok since I will work on genealogy. Have a curbside grocery pickup and it is ready early. Will go in a few minutes son I can beat traffic. I don’t usually plan things for weekends but needed broccoli for the salad recipe. Sue, my son needs a catalog because he says computers are things of the devil. He is kidding but doesn’t have internet only a flip phone and a tv antenna on his room. If he is happy I am happy. Your birthday gift is very thoughtful. Sounds like something I could use. Need to hit the road before t-storm. Be safe

Good morning. It is raining pretty good out there. I am still excited about the rain, just cannot believe it is almost the middle of June, we never have rain during the summer. Our drought status is easing greatly. Am hoping fire season will be boring. Still on my first cup of coffee, planning out a bit of my day. Need to go get a couple things from Costco, change my bedding, then not sure what to do after that. I plan on picking up something from Costco to fix for dinner, might be the shrimp scampi, we shall see what strikes my fancy.

That is one of the pattern companies I recall. I'm trying to recall others. I think Klockit used to have some and another company that I think had the word tree in it.

No there were No shades. Venetian blinds that sit 6 inches from glass. No did not shatter! It developed one vertical crack midline. No there was no inversion. No I can't remove as it is a huge, heavy dual pane unit. Takes two men and equipment to handle it. I can't lift a 5 ft by 5 ft double pane sealed unit! No "cold" air blowing or near it as it sits out in a bump out from living room. Glass people said it will remain a mystery as they have not encountered many spontaneous single vertical cracks, with no point of impact. Windows here in CA are almost always slide sideways type and this is two side sliders and a fixed big panel in middle. So , no you can't just take the window with you! Besides the fact it sits 5 feet up from ground and has to lift towards outside, once side pieces are removed and pieces inside too. To take the window with you, means unmounting entire window 95 inches by 59 inches with aluminum frame and weighs probably 150 lbs! Our windows are not as simple as yours!

Velda, I remember you saying that the glass company was going to come out to replace the glass because you said that it was a big window. I was just wondering if thry did yet. I said that I took my window out, as it was a small double hung, so all I had to do was remove the lower part of the window. They tilt out for cleaning, so was easy to just pop it out of the frame. I had blinds on my windows, no shades and that’s what caused it. I have had the blinds down for a while because we were having some Sub Zero called and then one day we have some sunshine and I thought that I would open the blinds and let the warm sun in and that’s when the window cracked. It didn’t shatter it just cracked, but some of it fell out. I have never had that happen either and wondered what the heck that was about. But then when I took it up to the glass company they explained to me what it was and how that happened.

How do you get a cat to drink more water? Can you flavor it in some way? Cats can be so stubborn and picky about what they eat and drink. And glad the northwest is getting some rain, but California really needs it also and just hasn't been getting more than a few drops here and there.

Just took my second COVID test since I got here in the UK, and it was negative. I brought four tests, so will take them over the next couple of weeks. No one is wearing masks here, but numbers are really down compared to the US, and their vaccination rates are higher than the U.S. also, at least for adults. I am also happy that the U.S. just dropped its requirement for people to get verified and monitored tests before they return to the U.S. Just a pain to have to go get a special test within a 24 period before I return.

Cold and rainy today, and supposed to be cold and rainy all this coming week!! Yuck. Today I drove down the Coe valley where much of the scenery from the Harry Potter movies was filmed--huge mountains and lakes and tons of waterfalls, but it was horribly windy and hard to even get out to take photos in the rain. I am supposed to take a ferry to the Isle of Skye tomorrow and found out at dinner that the ones in late afternoon and evening today were cancelled because of high winds. Don't know what will happen tomorrow. Still really achy and sore muscles and joints--keep hoping it will get better soon. And I lost my bottle of Aleve. Could take tylenol, but it does not do as well for inflamation and joint pain, so will try to find a UK replacement tomorrow. Will ask for advice from pharmacist if I can find one open tomorrow or monday.

Sue, forgot to gve you date. Install of glass will be 23 June. Then next day having measured for sunscreens, which they say will cut heat gain by 20%. That big window faces afternoon sun and that room is always warmer in summer. Have to see how much it helps.
My cats prefer running water in their fountain. Many cats prefer moving water. Mine used to like to get up on counter and drink from slow stream of water from faucet so when I introduced fountain years ago, they loved it. It's funny because Mandy prefers to drink right at top of waterfall and Stormy likes to drink at base of waterfall.
Speaking of water, I think I hear raindrops on roof! Guess that's our 39% chance of showers.
