Our skies are cloudy but supposed to get up to 70, we shall see. Had a little rain this morning but I think that is over. I am feeling lazy today, maybe if I have a shower it will wake me up. I need to find some motivation. Will let you all know how that works out LOL

It's my morning off and I lazed in bed a couple hours, dozing on and off, before getting up. I'm still tired! It might take awhile before this old body can get over being tired all the time. I should go into town and get some things for continental breakfast but refuse lol. I'm being a slug until time to go in this afternoon. I'm intending to be a slug then also for the most part. The new person will be with me and I'm going to take Ty and sit in the back room on the comfie couch and only come help if she needs me. You realize that's hard, right? Lol There's hardly any check-ins. We've been so busy this is weird. I'm looking at the disaster on my dining table and am trying to convince myself to put things away and clean in here. So far I'm not successful. To is being a pretty good slug, too.

Sun is out here, it's 76° and what little, but welcome, rain we did get (0.50 inches), is gone with clouds headed east over the Sierras. I'll be off to Curves in a bit. Have not set a plan for the week, as my back has been giving me fits for a few weeks now. And I'm having chest tightness every morning and I can't figure out why. I can be fine the rest of the day, even walking on treadmill, but hate this feeling when I get up. I suspect it's something with my CPAP, which, fortunately is not same brand or design as those Phillips machines that were recalled due to faulty foam. It was new in December 2020, and has a logarithm for women's lungs and I suspect it's not agreeing with me. I will be pushing my Dr, when I see him, for a pulmonary consult. And I hate just throwing Ventolin at it, and calling it good, because of how ventolin makes me feel. I'm a root cause kind of gal, and hope we can fix that.
Hope everyone has a splendid week.

Good afternoon ladies!

Shirl, I just talked to a friend that goes to our MD church and she said she is enjoying the cooler temperatures today. Karen, I love for my showers to wake me up.

It's warm here in central FL and we'll top off in the low 90's and have sunny skies. I went to a tie dye workshop last week that was fun. Steve loves tie dye shirts. We had friends over Friday and made potato skins and pizzas on his Egg. They were yummy. The lawn people that have the contract to take care of our lawns and been neglecting to trim our hedges and they finally got done Friday.

I talked to Carolb this morning for our Monday morning chat and she is well. Besides the 2 dogs she has, she is also taking care of a large dog for someone who is in a nursing home. It sounds like this person may never be able to go home and wondering if Carol will keep this dog permanently. She is such a kind hearted soul

It's late morning and an unexpected pretty day but with a breeze. The carpet cleaners come tomorrow so I'm trying to 'unclutter' some areas. Need to walk over to grocery store for a couple things and kids are to come later to help me carry the extra desk pieces to the dumpster area. A 'junk man' comes around once a month to collect things.

Once tomorrow is done, I will start preparing for the trip. Hope Judy is having a good rest! Beth, being lazy is good. :)

We did have some rain over the weekend. 30 miles east of here they had thunderstorms and flash flooding. From FB complaints it sounds like housing construction is to blame for the runoff.

It just made 90 today. I would like some cooler weather. It's not suppose to rain today so that means we will have scattered showers this afternoon. I would like to mow when it's cooler but then it might rain. I need to find a hat to wear when I mow and I'm not a hat person. It would probably help if I would just wear sun screen.

Irmi, glad Carolb is doing good. She will probably have 3 dogs. I have to keep reminding myself that I don't need anymore pets.

I gave Sugar a bath this morning and then I got to clean the bathroom. She had been scratching and I thought the cats might have brought some fleas in but she was still scratching.

I need to make some jello shots for the next campout and I keep forgetting to look for the little cups. The host serves jello shots with whipped cream on top so I help out by bringing several batches. I copied a list of 40 jello shot recipes so might try something different. This is the campout where we put our chairs in the creek and spend the weekend sitting in the creek.

I think I'll go put some gas in the push mower and mow Sugar's yard. Hope the mower starts. I keep forgetting to cover it up and if we have blowing rain it gets wet.

Brrrr! Cannot believe it is really June. Rained all day yesterday and high today was 53, but I really needed to get out and take some photos of gravestones. But understand that I planned my wardrobe based on it being June, as in summer, as in at least somewhat warm. HA!! Nature has played a big joke on me, and I am freezing.

Headed out to the local bakery cafe. Looked at stuff in display case and chose a quiche and some sort of curd dessert, except the lady put it in a bag thinking I was ordering it for takeout. So I told her I wanted to eat it there. So she put it on a plate, but it was cold instead of heated. I guess I was supposed to order eat-in food from the menu?? So I at a little of it, then slipped the rest into the bag where the dessert was located and took it back to the cottage to reheat it. It was really good, but I am still confused about the miscommunication. Does she charge more when something is served from the menu???

Then headed off to the church which is very close to here, but even though i had on long cotton pants, a short-sleeved shirt, a long sleeved thin cotton top on top of that, and finally, my raincoat, I was cold, especially when the wind picked up. Plus, all I brought was one pair of sandals, so my feet got soaked in the wet grass and after taking about 1/3 of the photos I needed to take, i went back to cottage to warm up. FYI, these "cottages" are stone and were originally part of a barn and later employee homes, so they have stone walls which are 2' thick!! And each room has only one electric wall heater that looks like hot water heat, per room, so it takes a long time to heat up, and they turn off every 30 minutes, so you have to keep resetting them. (Remember that it is not too long ago, a decade or so after WWII, that most homes in England even had central heating.)

Met a nice young couple in the church cemetery and found out the husband and I are no doubt distant cousins as we share some relatives. They could not stay long, but are going to contact me via my email so we can share information. We think we share a 4th great-grandmother.

So, I am trying to go along with things and not be the ugly American. I did get some ice cube trays and have been making myself iced tea, which I have really missed here. And i am trying to be polite and live with things as I am imagining the British do, and not complain. (I suspect they wear warmer clothing, like wool instead of cotton!) There are no clothing stores within about 20 miles of here, but I did go into one town that the owner said had some sporting clothing, which might include a warmer jacket, but I parked too far away and ran out of energy, plus my knee and hips are still really sore from my fall, so I gave up and went home.

I wanted to see the Gisborough Priory in Gisborough, but after walking several blocks to get there, it was closed. Will not open until Wednesday, so I will try later in the week. The priory and the town of Gisborough, by the way, was founded by the ancestors of Robert the Bruce, aka Braveheart, whose family were kings of Scotland in 1119. (Remember the movie??) Robert the Bruce or "Robert de Brus" owned land in Danby by the way and fought a major battle here.

Heading to the sea tomorrow--supposed to be a high of 59 F. Whoopee! Ought to be a souvenir store there somewhere where I can buy a sweatshirt. Wednesday is supposed to hit a whopping 64 F. but it is supposed to rain again.

Judy, hope you were able to find warm jacket. A shame there isn’t a way to bypass that 30 minute setting on the heater at least for one room.

having to get up every 10 mins to turn the heat back on would get old really quickly
it was chilly here or at least felt like it... cloudy and windy but did get the dead last year plants pulled out of the planters... I joined the slug club today as well... however this time it wasn't the phone that called me it was a book started it last night ... shouldn't have  so read for an hour or so this afternoon...
my dd text me to see if they could stay here tonight and tomorrow night they were coming to clean out the condo so that the ceiling can be replaced... I guess when her boyfriend turned to husband left the condo he left stuff telling his x wife to use it or get rid of it I'm not sure what she does but they are going to remove a bunch of stuff so that the ceiling can be removed... just got a text from dd they just picked up my truck I told her when she mentioned that they were going to use it that it was not licensed unless my son in law did but he didn't they have been going to sell it but because it's not a 4 wheel drive it's not been easy... I also don't think they have put much effort into... when I asked to use a car for my future trip to Utah they asked if I wanted the truck well no it's not licensed probably should have but son in law told me not to but to keep up the insurance on it... which I do I guess the theory of using the truck for moving the furniture is that a ticket is cheaper than a u-haul
they won't be here until about 1:00 wish it wasn't going to be that late but they left later than they thought... and stops to make and finding the farm where the truck is I'm sure was an issue
should have made hot chocolate but will tomorrow night I guess...
you all have a great day

Worked all day. Wasn't busy tho. I am starting (once again) on my autobiography. I got a new notebook and started making an outline of different areas and times of my life and filling in a few details of each, in between haircuts today. Will keep working on that and then take each sub-section and start writing about each one. I started that about a year ago but can't find the notes I wrote then.

When I got home, I laid down and fell asleep. Woke up at 2am! :o So am up now and getting caught up on here. Will try to get back to sleep in a bit. I have my annual physical in a week or so and will talk to my doctor about getting tested for sleep apnea. I am just so tired all the time.

It was at least 105* today and will keep going up each day this week until Saturday when it is supposed to hit 113*. Summer is here!

Have tomorrow off and will give Dave & Debbie haircuts in the morning. They are leaving on Thursday for their 2 month trip up to Oregon and other areas north.
I will get caught up on some house cleaning and laundry after that. The outside needs some work but just too hot to do that right now. Lately, it is either too hot or too windy to be outside.

I heard that the owner of our shop wants to increase the hours from 9-5 to 9-8 during the week, which usually means 3 people working 6 hours shifts each day. (I certainly won't work a 10 hour shift! ). I don't know how they will do that with only 4 of us working there and 2 of us are part-time. The other shops are also very short-handed. I would welcome 6 hour shifts from the 8-9 hour shifts I am doing now. I could do four 6-hour shifts, easier than three 8-9 hour shifts. (9 hour shifts are on Saturdays.) We'll see how that all works out.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
