Last Day of May

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Day of May

Good Morning from the45th. Sunny and 70°. Temps are heading into the 80s again today along with more humidity. Strong breeze though. I have a one window and my window wall door open right now so let the cool morning air in and I’ll close that up later on. That will help to keep the house cool. I like a lot of p people in northern MI and the UP, I do not have AC. Rain and some strong storms expected later.

Gaylord set the tornado aside yesterday and turned out with the biggest crowd ever, for the Memorial Day parade and ceremonies. I did not go, but I did put flowers on the graves at our township cemetery and weeded a couple of close neighbors graves while I was up there. One is a couple who were good friends and will be having their daughter interred with them next month. Then I took a ride east of Gaylord and enjoyed the springtime scenery. Found a severely damaged house where the tornado passed through after it left town. Way out on the country by itself, surrounded by an open field and woods. . Also came across a swampy area where it did a bit of tree mowing, mostly just pushing them into a tangled jungle.

Tina, I don’t do well in hot weather either. I think Beth mentioned that too. Glad you had a successful dog show.

Lyn, congrats on the 8th great grand.

Waiting for the dentist office to call me. Don’t remember if I mentioned I might have lost a crown or perhaps something else going on last week. Started when I bit down on something hard at supper one night. Need to go to the store too and run an errand.

Morning Sue and All, hotter and more humid today. The Gaylord community restores my faith in our country. Too bad the news only reports the worst events. I would love to open doors and windows but pollen is still very high in this area. I stayed home the weekend, didn’t feel like socializing and then there is traffic. I’m not a big tv fan but not YouTubing as much so have been binge watching Air Wolfe on Roku. Love watching that black helicopter come up out of the rocks. What can I say, I was the only girl in a neighborhood of boys. Making a list for Bjs warehouse and saw Tater Tots stuffed with bacon and cheese. Oh! My! Never had a tot, how big are they. Could probably only eat two at a time. Lol I just skimmed over the recipe for air fryer tots but might go back and read again. Judy enjoying your blog. Be safe

Good Morning All, Judy, I am lovin your blog. It’s a long time since I have been in London. 1982. Our first night was in a B&B in Slone Square. I also had a terrible time understanding the accents.
Remember, Barbie and Catherine, I have two parking spots in my garage.

Shirl, the regular tater tots I buy are bite sizes about an inch and quarter long by maybe 3/4 in diameter. They do make minis and extra large, but most are that bite size. I haven't seen stuffed tots, but haven't looked as I no longer eat potatoes.
Headed into 80's today. Gas up again overnight to $5.729 a gallon for regular. So I'll make an evening run to Costco where that's the cheapest in area fuel, (and evenings are less busy) and top off then hope to get chicken for my kitty girls. Stormy has her whole life preferred raw chicken, and now Mandy has decided its pretty tasty, plus Mandy does not itch and pull hair when she eats mostly chicken . I don't know who was more suprised, she or me, when a few weeks ago she began to eat the chicken, stealing from her sister, so I gave her her own piece and within 48 hours her scratching stopped! I had attributed it to her kidney issues or her thyroid, but apparently I was not correct! It has to be more comfortable for her not itching , scratching and pullin hair! Just need to be able to get their air chilled organic chicken at Costco.
My back is more painful than usual so I have chiropractor tomorrow afternoon.
Have a message in for a estimate on repair of that living room window that cracked. Hoping can be done and way less than whole new window !
Also hoping the high school kid is ready to help soon. Really want to get finished in kitchen and no way can I get low enough to reach to back of bottom cupboards!
Our week is predicted to stay mid 90's or below, so that's nice weather, compared to what it could be and likely will be in a few weeks. But we have breezes and low humidity, so it's fire season!
Stay safe everyone.

I got outside early this morning as the sun is out and already 74. Got the dirt changed and fortified in 3 of my 6 tubs. Then planted and watered the tomato plants. Will get out early again tomorrow as I have 3 more to go, then want to rototill the small garden area. I have a small rototiller and it works pretty well. Been putting half the old dirt out of the containers on the garden, then will add some manure and till it up so I can plant the other tomatoes and squash. One of my silly geraniums from last year is sprouting green leaves so I cleaned it up, took out the dead ones and added some fortified soil. Will pick up a couple more to add to it. I was sneezing and coughing alot so came in around noon, took some Ibuprofen for my headache and aching bones I know I will have. Now plopped down in my recliner, I do need to get some lunch but right now too lazy. Think I will make a little rice and have a few spring rolls and some Tempura shrimp, both done on the Air fryer except the rice.

Don't forget to say "Rabbits" tonight! :o

Well, I had a few unwelcomed visitors in the motel room overnight. Beg bugs!!! :o Only saw a couple of them (but 2 is all it takes to make more! ). Killed one last night, and thought I killed another this morning that I was gonna bring to the front desk clerk, but when I went to get the remains later, it was gone! Apparently I only knocked him out! I had a hard time sleeping last night worrying about them! I had checked the bed and sheets and under the mattress but didn't see any evidence there. Saw both of these guys on the night stand. I got plastic bags and put my pajamas in one and my pillow and throw blanket in another and tied them up tight! Everything else was on a table across the room so am hoping they didn't have any good reason to be over there. So far, I have not found any bites on me. I did tell the front desk clerk about it. Then he asked if I wanted some compensation for it. I said that would be nice, so will see if he gives me one. He said he had to check to room first.

I wasn't in the mood for breakfast but did stop at the meditation gardens. So beautiful!! Then headed south. Didn't stop anywhere else until I got to La Jolla. Got parked and did some window shopping (can't afford anything in that town!), looked in some awesome photo galleries, and ate lunch at a hamburger joint. Oh, I did buy 2 chocolate eclairs at a cream puff shop. They were SO good! Then went down to the beaches and watched the sea lions. Some had pups with them. There was one large sea lion that looked very injured. He was scraped up all over. Thinking he got bashed into the rocks from the rough surf, altho they seem pretty good at avoiding that. Someone said it was reported. I hope they can help him. :(

I actually had a date tonight! :D I met a guy on-line a couple weeks ago who lives in Chula Vista south of San Diego down by the border. Since I was in SD, we decided to take the opportunity to meet. We met in Mission Beach close to San Diego. We talked for about 1 1/2 hours before he had to leave. He seems nice and we have a lot of things in common. The distance is an issue tho, so will see...

Got checked into my motel in SD for tonight. I decided to stay another night here and go back on Thursday so I am not rushed to get home tomorrow afternoon/evening. It is a 3 hour drive +/- depending on traffic, thru the mountains so I like to take my time. I don't work until Saturday. I can sleep in tomorrow then, since Catherine isn't picking me up until 11am. We will be at Lynn's before 11:30 so we will have plenty of time to chat and go to lunch and chat some more before Catherine needs to head back to LA.

So I will have to sleep in my clothes tonight and no extra blanket. They usually use feather pillows in these places and I am allergic to feathers. :( So without my pillow, I may have puffy eyes in the morning.

I will post pics when I get home.

All in all, it was a pretty good day. I didn't spend any money other than the hamburger, and the weather was perfect! Breezy and 70* with clear blue skies!

Now will read a bit, say "Rabbits" and go to sleep!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

it's a good thing Barbie that you said Rabbit's as I simply wouldn't have thought about it at all!!! Mom een mention that tomorrow is June the 1st and I didn't even give it a thought...
it's pretty bad when you can see the same murder she wrote twice in a month... at least I am sure that I've seen this one not that long ago... :( oh well it does make it easier to leave in the middle of it.
back to the same ole' get up fix breakfast read scriptures work on something then fix supper then watch a couple of (or parts of ) depending upon how long it takes to clean up after supper or more the case how late it was for supper... funny Shirl you mentioned tator tots did some in the AF tonight really good as well as the hot dog ... lots easier than nursing it on the stove top... and no I don't do microwave hot dogs... but the hot dogs were so yummy as well.. hmm this may not be the one I thought it was...
rained this AM but not later... not suppose to do so tomorrow my brother is having his left knee replaced tomorrow... just realized that niece hasn't told me if they (my nephew and his girl friend ) are coming over for supper tomorrow or not they need to let me know so I have enough to feed them.. actually forgot I asked them to come or I would have text niece to see... not sure if it's too late or not guess I will in the morning..
spent some time on the phone today my kids thought it would be a good idea if I have a scooter to ride while on the cruise so got that set up hopefully they will send me their shares soon ... need to decide if I want the protection plan think I will 10 a day to protect from loss, theft or damage... not sure what they run but think it sounds like cheap insurance... had to laugh I think my dil started it up so all I had to do was go in with some information she put my weight down so much heavier than I am but thinking she just put down numbers as she had me taller than I am as well
yep this is the one...
Shirl mentioned to say as Velda mentioned they are fairly small at school we had some that had cheese in them so yummy bet the bacon would be so good... and yes you can and will be able to eat much more than two...
you all have a great night

Thanks Barbie, I remembered rabbits. I have some bites from something but I haven't seen any mosquitos and haven't been anywhere to get bed bugs. That's why I'm glad I have a motorhome and don't have to stay at motels.

I didn't do much today. Went to town to get Sugar's pills and some food for Frosty. I stopped at the local grocery store to get some 1/2 and 1/2 and eggs so I wouldn't have to go to Walmart. I was going to go fishing again but it decided to rain about that time.

Sheila, I like to watch the mysteries on PBS. I can watch one that I have already seen and not remember who the killer is. I use to take a mystery magazine called Ellery Queen. My son liked to call it Elderly Queen. We lived within walking distance of a library when I was in junior high. I read all the horse books and then started on science fiction. Now it's all I can do to get through a Readers Digest without it putting me to sleep.
