Friday May 27

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday May 27

Morning All, another nasty stormy day predicted. High wind is hitting balcony from the south so had to remove the wind chime. Would like a little rain water on plants but don’t want their leaves blown off. It’s Friday, nasty weather, heavy traffic and crazy drivers is not a good combination. I’m settled in for the weekend. Maybe work on some genealogy. I have been watching Merlin on Prime. There are days I would like to have magical powers. Be safe

Yes. Magical Powers.....and maybe a friendly dragon.

Just stopping by to left you know that the dogs are still putting up with me. Lark and Jane have both been fluffed and buffed and are about ready to head out to the rig for a weekend trip to Michigan. There is a UKC dog show near Corunna, MI. I threw our stuff in the rig yesterday and even hooked up the Honda Fit yesterday evening because my weather app spoke of rain all this morning. The sun is now laughing. Since I had not unloaded the show equipment from the Fit from the show several weeks ago, packing didn't take much time.

I do hope that the weather prospects of sunshine for the weekend is accurate though. May the weekend hold some good adventures for each of you. One's imagination can take you anywhere. The dogs and I will have to pay for our gas but we are still heading out.

Good morning Shirl, Tina & all that check in!

Shirl, it sounds like a good day to stay in and with the holiday traffic, you may decide to stay in all weekend.

Tina, have fun at the Michigan dog show!

It is in the mid 80's in central FL and we'll get into the low 90's with a gentle breeze. My onions and tomato plants look healthy and stand over three feet tall but only one has blossoms on it. I hope the other will start making blossoms son, too. We spent two days with the friends we traveled around the country with for our monthly visit and had a great time, as usual. I'm catching up on laundry and since it's the weekend will be doing the usual practice for the next Sunday service. Steve made a couple homemade pizzas yesterday after we got home and they were undoubtedly the best pizzas I had ever had. They were cooked on his Egg and we really enjoyed them.

Stay safe!

Good morning. Shirl, it’s a wet Friday here too. Heavier storms forecasted for this afternoon so it’s definitely going to be a stay home and inside day for me. No excuse not to get caught up on a few inside jobs today! Summer type temps are supposed to appear by Tuesday so that’ll be welcome. GS’s graduation picnic is next Saturday so I’m hoping for at least no rain since it’s all outdoors. But to far out to worry about now! Going to be a quiet holiday weekend for me. No big plans for anything special. I did find out that a seasonal hamburger place opened today. They are only open Fridays and Saturday through the summer. Smoked burger that they raise themselves. It’s a real treat for once in awhile. One of their burgers makes at least 2 meals for me. It’s across the valley from me but well worth a drive once in awhile. My dinner is already in the slow cooker so it won’t be today for sure! No news yet on my car situation and doubt there will be until maybe next week. And that’s probably optimistic! Hope you all have a great week end, stay safe and those of us here in the east, stay dry! Sure wish we could sent some of this rain west!

Worn out from walking over five miles yesterday. Also saw musical Wicked last night. Stayed up late updating my blog so slept in. Went to Westminster abbey today and then grabbed MC Donald’s. Hotel cafe is out of regular coke so that is only major disaster for today. Resting and heading for Oxford street for walk tonight and leave tomorrow for Greenwich. More later.

Judy, sounds like you are staying very busy and seeing lots of cool stuff!

Got up this morning and went next door to check on Gloria. She said she feels fine and the bump has gone down so she doesn't want to go to Urgent Care. I told her if she starts feeling dizzy or nauseous to let me know right away and I will take her there. She is kind of like a mom to me so I really worry about her but I can't force her to do anything she doesn't want to do.

Am tired this morning. Had some strange dreams last night. I think there might be a nap in my near future. I need to get some laundry done. I work the next 2 days before I head to Encinitas (beach town north of San Diego) on Monday morning, so I need to finish getting stuff done today. Sunday evening is the BBQ that Dave & Debbie are putting on here for those who are still in the park so I need to go to that for awhile before getting packed. I brought over a large bowl of water for the kittens this morning. Saw Mom and all three kittens. They are all orange tabbies. So cute! Last litter was one orange tabby and 2 calicos.

I plan to take my time heading to SD. Monday I will head to Carlsbad and slowly head down along the coast, stopping to check things (shops  ) out and stop at some of the beaches along the way. I will stay in Encinitas on Monday night and then stop at the SRF meditation gardens overlooking the ocean in the morning before heading south. That is such a beautiful place! Want to spend some time in La Jolla at the parks overlooking the ocean there. Also may stop at some other beach towns just outside of San Diego before checking in to my motel there. Then meet up with Catherine and Lyn for lunch before heading back home in the afternoon on Wednesday. I was thinking of stopping at the gourd farm on the way home but I really don't need anything and don't need to be tempted to buy more stuff!

Have a good day and stay cool and dry!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Cloudy day here with rain predicted for the entire holiday weekend. I dont really care will just hunker down inside and maybe finish washing some walls in preparation of painting one day LOL but they were dirty so they needed even if I dont paint til this winter.

Tina good luck at the dog show. I know my breeder Christy Collins has been cleaning up each weekend with the dogs she shows. Sammie the chiuahua is so darn cute, he wins everything. She is a handler for many dogs and is doing very well. Not sure if she will be at this show or not but I like to follow her and see how she does. She has a winning Tibetan Spaniel bitch that she owns her name is GCH Improv Wedgepot Get Your Sparkle On (Glitter) but she won so much she doesnt really drag her along much anymore LOL

Judy glad you are having a good time and seeing lots of sights. Shirl I think most of us are just staying in this holiday, I dont trust the drivers so my only sojourn out will be to Costco this afternoon but it is only a couple miles up the road. Other than that think I will just see what movie I can watch on tv this afternoon. Since I no longer have cable I always stream and there are thousands of FREE movies on all sorts of channels.

I would like to use my magical powers to turn the engine off on some of the crazy drivers I see and let them wonder what happened.

We have another nice day. It's only 86. I guess the Northeast is getting what went through here the other day.

I was digging in the pantry the other day and found a jar of Cajun Power Chicken Stew Mix that I needed to use. Yesterday I picked up a package of chicken thighs so cooked that this morning. I found a half package of yellow cake mix where I had made a half recipe of the peach dump cobbler so have a half recipe of that in the oven. I might have to go get some ice cream. I need an excuse to go to town, my watch stopped this morning and needs a new battery.

My carport garden is doing good. I had bought some Gladiola bulbs and couldn't decide where to plant them so put dirt in one of the big cow feed tubs and planted them in it. They are about a foot tall but no blooms yet. The discount mums I bought several years ago are blooming again and the catnip is blooming. I found a package of Lavender seeds and I think I will bring another tub up on the carport and plant them. No telling how old the seeds are.

Tina, glad you have somewhere to go for the big weekend. Have fun.

Barbie, thank you for taking care of the kitties. Hope you can catch the kittens and mom and get them fixed. Cats have a much better life if they aren't fighting. The neighbor's cat that I got fixed has turned into a very nice cat. He comes and eats here sometimes. Her other tom cat is pretty scrappy looking. Frosty is in and out all day long when it's hot. If he's in the sun a lot his little pink ears get red and look like they are sunburnt.

Finished my blog post from yesterday. I have decided to post more about my experiences and fewer photos. Also, my distance walked according to my Fitbit ZIP yesterday was 4.9 miles. No wonder I could not finish blog posting last night.

Now, I visited Westminster Abbey this afternoon and am on my way to Oxford street to look around at shops while it is still daylight. Also need to eat better and more because my pants are starting to fall off! No breakfast and did not eat lunch today until 2:30 pm. Not good for me. Won't spend a ton of time out tonight because I am moving to a hotel in Greenwich tomorrow and then heading to Edinburgh the next day. Might try to extend my trip a couple of days because I still have stuff I want to do in London.

I am staying home this weekend to watch softball!!! The strawberries I placed on my patio last Tuesday look very healthy and happy out there. I am now looking for a couple of chairs and tables to complete my patio decorations.
Karen, you mentioned, a few days ago, fixing some vegetable spring rolls you hAd got at CostCo. I had my daughter buy me some. I love them! So, thank you very much. I like food that I can just put in the air fryer or the microwave.

I also love the Vegetable Spring Rolls from Costco. I dip them in Trader Joe’s Sweet Chili Sauce which isn’t spicy hot but very tasty.

Travel is never perfect, as you all know, so here are my complaints so far. Minor/major irritations so far include Coke with no ice at McDonald’s in drink when I ordered extra ice and hotel cafe/bar which has been out of coke for three days. Also too many stairs in subway for my old legs. Got tired and ended ordering lousy takeout pizza tonight from hotel bar.

Keep getting lost and walking more than I want to walk because I end up going in wrong direction. Brits need better road signage!!! Things should be better tomorrow as I will be taking fast boat to Greenwich instead of lugging suitcase through tube. But Wicked was really wonderful last night. Going to sleep now that I have gotten rid of complaints.

I'm really wanting to be asleep but one room isn't in yet. I left info on the door for them but when I talked to them on the phone I wasn't confident they'd read it correctly (they are foreigners and I never know if they'll be able to read English.) They thought they'd be here around 10 however I checked the door a bit ago and they hadn't taken the info. I haven't yet been awoken by the door bell... Might happen tonight. Then I'm afraid also that I could sleep through the bell.

Judy, I'm thoroughly enjoying your blog. Thanks.

I think I'll play a couple games and make it to 11 or a tad later... Then I'll go to sleep whether they're here or not and hope they get in without assistance.

went up to visit sister in laws grave found it easily well almost missed the turn into the cemetery so did the turn around and then had to inch my way around a very sharp corner if it happens again I need to go back down the hill and turn around and go back up would be easier.... all in all it was a good trip animal wise we saw Bison a really scrawny moose I first thought it was a horse but didn't fit right then mom said a moose looked at it and could see the head was a moose female yearling but boy it had a rough winter... so thin then of course deer at the cemetery and mom said a deer but the rump said elk pretty sure it was elk oh and of course antelope.
stopped for water was going to get a couple pieces of pies but they only sell them by the whole pie and at 29 dollars decided not to
was suppose to stop at my brother's to look at a couch he got a new one said mom could have the old one not her style worn more than this one is and harder to get out of so think I will recommend passing on it although I'd love a more comfortable couch to sit on but finding his house was a pain in part I was thinking he was on a corner lot he wasn't was on the right street finally called his daughter and asked for directions after calling two brother's and 2 of my daughters... no answer with all but one she recommended I call my niece dah!!! why didn't I think of that... got mom up the steps then was faced with more steps so we went back to the car and I checked out the couch .... I need to talk to niece and tell her that some work needs to be done on those steps or they will never get her dad up those steps after his knee replacement he is a big man she isn't tall and if my nephew is also with them he isn't tall and what we used to help going up was wobbly
we stopped at DQ for supper...
you all have a great day
