Rainy Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rainy Wednesday

It cannot decide what to do here in London--rains and then sunny and then more rain. Not quite as bad as yesterday, at least.

Slept in a big this morning and then headed to British Museum. Had been there before, but the place is so big, you can really only see one or two sections. Last time, several years ago, I saw ancient Egypt and then ancient Britain. Today, they had a new exhibit on "The World of Stonehenge," so I paid the extra fee and spent a couple of hours there. Also spent a considerable amount of time in the bookstore, but controlled myself and only got a London cell phone cover.

I finally mostly figured out my Fitbit Zip, and it said that yesterday I walked 4.7 miles and 15,500 steps. Today I walked 10,384 steps and 4.06 miles. I am going to get busy and do more posting on my blog and record the Fitbit data each day. (Or at least try to remember to record it.)

Saw this and wondered if Lyn had been to London lately:

Maybe not, since most of the electric scooters seemed to be upright and parked properly.

Right now, it is 6 pm and I am laying in bed, having finished a Coke and an almond bar. I ate lunch at 3:00 pm, so this is my afternoon snack and dinner with be a couple of hard-boiled eggs and some baklava I brought home, but that will be later this evening.

I think the rain has finally moved off to the East. The weather channel says we might get more tonight but I don't see any right now. My rain gauge has 3 inches in it. Every little bit helps.

Beki and I toured Vermilionville and the Acadian Culture Center yesterday. The Acadian Culture Center is a National Park. I didn't know that. They show a movie about the exile of the acadians from Nova Scotia. The Village is some old houses, a school and a church that have been moved to make the village.

I brought my motorhome to the shop to get the air conditioner fixed. They have a lot of motorhomes there. I hope they can get it fixed in the next 3 weeks or I will miss my next campout.

Judy, I love your posts and pictures. Thank you.

Martha, that's interesting that that culture center is a national park. I had to look and I should have realized it's designated a National Historical Park. I looked up the various designations at least once before and just did again. If any of you are interested:

Awfully quiet in our coffee room today. Come out come out, wherever you are (as in hide and seek lol).

I woke up just after 6am with a severe muscle pain in my upper right back/shoulder area. It hurt to take a breath! I got up and (still in my PJ's) went out to move my car to the neighbors driveway. My friend Dave was coming over this morning to put a cabinet together that I had bought about 2 years ago and was still in the box on my deck. It was to be put in the place where the old stacking washer and dryer were. But I just never got around to putting the cabinet together, so I finally asked Dave to do it. Once I moved the car, I went back to bed after taking an Advil and turning on my heating pad for my back/shoulder.

Woke up around 9 from hearing Dave outside working on the cabinet. Got dressed and went out to watch. He had a friend stop by to help him bring it into the house. It looks really nice where it is. I already put some things in there, like my laundry soaps and some other things I needed a place for. Later, I followed Dave to his house to have him fill the low tire on my golf cart. Will have to see if it is a slow leak and needs to be fixed. He also fixed my garbage disposal. Yay! So nice to have my own handyman to help me with things I can't do myself. We just trade work for haircuts. He was gonna take up the carpet on my deck but I told him that can wait. I later cut open a small area to see what it looked like underneath. There is carpet glue on the plywood so that would have to get sanded off. I would like to put the peel and stick tiles down out there but with the extreme heat, I don't know if the sticky stuff on them would melt. If I could get the old carpet glue sanded off (another project  ) then I could paint it at least for a temporary solution. Would like to get ceramic tiles but have been told that they might be too heavy for my deck, altho I know lots of others here have that. For now I just want to get rid of the cat pee smell!

My back/shoulder feel better now but my front teeth hurt again and I have a headache. I did catch myself chomping on my front teeth awhile ago (stress thing). I usually chomp on the back teeth but my bite must have moved some so my front teeth come down on each other now instead of the top teeth being in front of the bottom ones. I have TMJ and grind/chomp my teeth 24/7. Had my bite adjusted back in my 20's for that. I think I need to make a new mouth guard.

It is very hot and humid today! Some breeze, so that made it feel a little better this morning.

Catherine and I are going to meet down in San Diego next Wednesday to have lunch with Lyn! Yay, a GTG!! :D I will go down on Monday so I can do some exploring along the coast and get my beach fix first. If anyone else is close by, you are welcome to join us! Just PM me if interested, for more info!

I will have to check out Judy's blog after this. Has anyone heard from Carol (Ann) Sirimarco lately?

Have a good evening!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Successful day today. Got tomato plants, strawberry plants (thanks to all of you LOL) an acorn and a zucchini squash plant. That will do me for this year. I just am not feeling 100% yet but now I think it is due to my allergies because I actually feel pretty good but lose my momentum after a while. Going to stick the tomato plants in the ground tomorrow and the strawberries and squash in a container. We shall see how this works out this year. I got 3 varieties of tomato plants. Will see which ones like Roseburg this year.

Following Judys blog also. I also follow Carols blog and she posted on FB recently. Martha hope they can get your AC fixed so you can go camping. Barbie any thoughts on laying vinyl on your deck. Seems like one solid piece would work. I think the squares can pop up because of the heat. My neighbor has squares on his deck and he needs to do some gluing again. We arent as hot as you but we do have hot sun shining on his deck.

Barbie is it too hot to paint the steps??? I know that in the past when mom would stain her decks it could be colder than nor hot than don't remember the degrees so wonder if it would be the same with paint. but hope that you can come up with a solution
got to watch gd's graduation... I bailed out after her name was called... didn't go back to the processional as they left either... saw the important part... it was a lot later for mom having supper so didn't want to wait another hour... or more  I was really happy that she came my way so I was able to see her pretty well... I am betting that we had better sound than those in actual attendance... plus it was windy they were on the football field could tell by the flags and the flow of the gowns... but looked like a gorgeous day sky was blue few clouds and wind lol
worked on the indexing they are some names... some Polish and some Italian and some who knows... I need to finish it up tomorrow just so it's done I think I'm down to less than 10 names... sixty total by the time I indexed and sat and watched the graduation my lower back was really complaining
I see Carol's blog on FB every so often... I don't think she mentioned it on here but a few weeks ago she was with a walking group out in the wet lands... and into their walk they heard a voice calling out.... found a young lady that had fallen and broken her leg if I recall correctly... pretty sure they possibly saved a life that day...
was going to go to the store but decided to wait till tomorrow the main problem was milk if I don't have hot chocolate tonight I'll be ok... I guess I could drink some of mom's chocolate milk but for some reason I'm just not into "chocolate milk" even heated it's just not the flavor I like I guess.. and that comes from a true chocolate .... it's gone can't think of the spelling and everything I came up with spell check didn't agree with it ...
looking forward to seeing my family this weekend
you all have a great day
