Monday May 23~ Lucky Penny Day

Mornin' ladies~~~

Just stalling before I hitch today. My next stop up in the Poconos is only an hour away. There until next Tuesday to get thru the Memorial Day weekend.

Not much else going on. Find a Penny and have a luck day.

Monday & Round Two

Postby JudyJB » Mon May 23, 2022 8:34 am

Back at airport for round two. Got correct tickets printed and “expressed” my anger to ticket staff and supervisor. Checked bag again and now relaxing with bagel and cream cheese. I got here much earlier than normal and will have four hour layover At JFK but it looks like planes are all flying on time.

Did not sleep well at sons last night. Chilly and hard bed but better there than being stuck someplace in hotel.

Merged topics. Changed the date in your title to the 23rd, Cheryl. Is it still lucky penny day? Wishing you safe travels with no more snafus, Judy.

Cheryl, I laughed thinking about lucky penny day when I was short a penny at the store and had to give a nickel and get a single penny in return. Lol

Good afternoon all. Cheryl, you’ll have a new backyard to enjoy for a week! Should be lots of fun things to see and do! Sue, so good to hear from you and know you’re okay. After spending the day Saturday working outside in the 90 plus temps and high humidity I was done for yesterday so today I decided I needed to accomplish tasks in the house. Temps are way down but things are still wet so I’m limited in what I can do. I probably should pull more weeds but my excuse is runny nose itchy eyes and sneezing! My newfound allergies are back in full force. Never used to have this much of a problem! Something to blame on my “advanced years”! Judy, sure hope you are able to get your flight this evening and you can start your adventure. Not much else happening here. Was car shopping the other day and that in itself is depressing and of course I haven’t heard back from the other insurance company. When I drove by the towing place my car was still there. Not that I expected anything to be done with the week end and all. So just hurry up and wait which I don’t do well. The insurance industry has changed so drastically since I worked in it so many years ago.okay, enough grumbling from me. Time to get back to work and go throw some clothes in the dryer. And probably should decide on what to fix for dinner. Have some leftovers so think that’ll be it tonight. Hope everyone is having a good Monday! I’m looking for that penny for today to be a lucky day!

Finally managed to get to the grocery store. Good thing I am not a big meat eater. I did buy some hamburger and I still have meat in my freezer so I have a bit of a reprieve. I needed some fresh veggies and some bread. OK so I didnt need the cookies or the Belgian eclairs LOL But since they come 30 small ones to a container I usually only eat around 3 or 4 at a time as they are frozen so make for a nice after dinner dessert. Still got rid of $117 and really didnt buy that much. Since I had issues with my crockpot yesterday by the time I got it restarted at 3 or 4 it was done way too late for me to eat so put it in the fridge and will have it tonight for dinner. Seemed to work fine for the rest of the meal but when I use it again I will surely keep checking it and if it does it again bye bye. I have a bigger one but I really like this little one for just one meal or sometimes 2 depends.

So far no pennies have appeared but there was a period of time when I found them quite often. It started one evening when DH and I were watching TV and something fell to the floor right in front of us. It was a new penny. There was nothing nearby that it could have fallen from. After that I seemed to find them quite often in several places but if someone was trying to communicate with me they didn't get through :P
Sharon I hope you can find a car that you like apparently choices are limited.

got a load of laundry done worked on a indexing batch... did a few names but not that many hard to read it's that carbon of the original so somewhat smudged... someone else had started on it must have gotten either busy or couldn't read it any better than I can... so will work on it again another day... it's due on the 31st so have a couple of days... although the end of the week is going to be somewhat busy... so want to have it done by Thurs Friday at the latest...
my brother will be over either Friday or Saturday and they will take care of mom for the weekend so I will go over to Idaho spend time with family.... Friday plan on taking mom up to where my sister in law is buried to leave flowers that way she will have a rest day then Sunday we will go to the cemetery but I do believe I've gone over this before
my niece called as we were talking she mentioned that her dad was going to have surgery next week... hmmm first I heard but he apparently told mom ... I don't know if she doesn't hear what she is being told or promptly forgets... anyway 45 mins later we ended up the call... by that time supper was totally late if the fish truck wasn't coming in this week I might have just grabbed keys and ran and gotten something... instead I made this soup... supper easy a can of diced tomatoes warmed up the same amount of half and half or milk and a little bit of baking soda... you need to heat them separately to avoid curdling put the soda in the heated tomatoes... it's really quite good although if I was making it for me I'd add Italian Seasoning... but this is the way mom makes it...
You all have a great day

I like to think finding a penny is a my hubby's hello from heaven. Works for me. Sheila - just wondering - why add baking soda to the soup? I bet you could also drain and rinse a can of mixed vegetables to dump in and get a little bit of added vitamins (frozen ones even better).

Why do passed loved ones leave us pennies? Why not quarters? :? Or $!00 bills?? :o Actually, I find dimes in strange places and feel those are from my mom, so she has given me a raise from the common penny!

Whenever I walk where others have been, I always look down hoping to find a coin from my son who was murdered at age 22. I find them off and on and they’re in denominations from pennies to $.25. I always save them and keep them in a small hanging wall case, There’s a note beside them telling my daughter and grandchildren their significance after I’m gone. This may seem silly to those who don’t have that faith, but it’s important to me in remembrance of my son.

Sandy, (((hugs))). I understand that! I am always looking for signs from my mom and find them occasionally yet. Got a lot more signs right after she passed and for a few years after. Now just one or two, now and then. She is probably busy now with so many cousins and other relatives that have crossed over. She, her sister, and 2 of my cousins were always having a good ol' time playing cards and telling bad jokes. :o I am sure they still are!! :D
