It's Friday!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It's Friday!

Going to make this one a quick one in case anyone else is logging in.

I woke up to rain. Need to do laundry today, but am waiting until it dries up just a bit so I can take the shortcut to the laundry room. Otherwise, I have to walk a longer way on a roadway. Changed my bed and towels so I have those to wash, as well as clothing for a week.

More later....

It's gusting this morning and banging rope against flagpole! I have Curves today and I need to get to HD to get paint for kitchen and look at fridges. Seems all fridges the size I have are now 36 inches wide, so won't fit where my fridge goes! Very frustrating to have to drastically drop down in size! And I'm very picky about brands, having discovered many issues in the Samsung we got in 2012, are actually serious defects! I certainly didn't know until I discovered a group of over 150,000 unhappy Samsung customers online with similar issues, some way worse than mine (even fires)! So I'm on the hunt for a fridge that will fit the space and hold the food we buy and actually keep it cold. It was certainly eye opening to put a monitor in this one and see that it swings wildly in temp between cold enough to freeze food and warm enough to lead to spoilage. We have had stuff like milk go bad way sooner than it should and eggs freeze, and could not figure out why until I put that little monitor in there! Current fridge is 34 inches wide and a 25 cf. only fridges that narrow I have found so far in research are 5-6 cf smaller! Or they are taller and won't fit! I refuse to do a major kitchen remodel just to fit a fridge in!
Not sure how warm it will get today, but it's 71° at moment, so I need to get moving. Sure glad I made the evening trip to Costco, cuz I'm not a morning person and at that hour, it was not crowded. Have a good day all.

Afternoon All, extremely hot 90° and humid. Did run a couple of errands early, used inhaler, took water bottle, sunglasses along with other stuff. Shirl’s go bag is a pita. Dehumidifier is removing some water but think the ac is doing the most to lower indoor humidity. Nothing fun or productive planned. Becsafe

Wind came back yesterday. Temps were low 70's. Winds still here today but temps dropped. Might hit 60 today and that makes the winds feel that much colder.

Boy did I screw up last night. When people will be late check-ins I put notes with a map for each room. Doors for check-ins are too be unlocked by housekeeping. Normally I double check that those doors are unlocked. Last night I was exhausted and there's rarely a problem. Rarely isn't good enough and I'll never skip that step again. The people had my cell number and when they couldn't get in their room they called. Remember I said I was exhausted? I slept right through it! Long story short they got hold of their booking company who called our main number which my counterpart in the RV park was answering last night and she came up abs found my master keys and got them in. Very good thing she had our main phone. I definitely wouldn't have heard that one! I'm embarrassed bit the couple were super nice when I talked to them this morning. Whew!

The wind was back this morning. Since it was overcast and somewhat cool I decided to go mow in Maurice. I'm going to Lafayette tomorrow and it's suppose to rain Sunday. We can only hope.

I talked to Beki and she is headed this way Sunday. I forgot to tell her that the Louisiana State Parks were giving a senior discount even to people from out of state. I don't know if they are still doing that but doesn't hurt to ask.

I hope Sue didn't have any damage from the tornado and gets her power back soon.

Speaking of wind...we once again, have a high wind warning here. It started last night and has been blowing really strong all day. Got out of work and couldn't see the mountains in any direction. The sun could barely get thru the clouds of dust in the air! I had a few stops to make on the way home and every time I got out of the car or the store, I got sand blasted! Tried to keep my eyes closed and only open them enough to see where I was going! :o The winds were supposed to die down by 2pm but they are still blowing strong tonight. The upside is that the temps have dropped quite a bit. But you can't really enjoy the cooler temps when you are being pelted by sand and dust and whatever else is blowing sideways! Seems this is a weekly event lately!

Sorry to hear about the tornado near Sue! Glad her neighborhood didn't get hit but still a mess for the whole community to deal with.

My coworker who lost her baby will be back to work tomorrow. Will be a little awkward for a bit. I guess she is still so very distraught about it all. My manager is going to get her some flowers and a card but we decided to keep it simple and not talk about it unless she brings it up, if and/or when she is ready to do that.

I need to get to bed a little earlier tonight since I haven't been doing that and was tired all day today.

I got my new phone all working good now and just ended up putting in all the contacts by hand. I had put the photos from the other phone on an SD card. Just wish I could figure out the FB password issue. I did try to do it from my laptop and that is what I was having problems with. Not a huge deal if I can't access FB from my phone but it would be nice at times. I can get on here from my phone so that is good. :D

Have a good night!

actually hit 3 stores today... we have plastic vases for flowers for the cemetery with a new grave and it felt like we were missing some I wanted to get some more so went to Dollar Tree they didn't have any like we have so got a couple of metal ones even found some liquid spin and span mom likes it I haven't been able to find any but the spray bottle so was glad to find this need to mop the floor... then on to Target needed a tooth brush replacement should be good for awhile and then to the grocery store... just remembered something I meant to get however I have one so will be ok till next time. last time I went it came to so much that I even went over the receipt couldn't see why and then today I know I got more at least it was 3 bags instead of think 1 anyway might compare and it wasn't too much more than the last one... took a look at the organic banana's they have a band on them... the ones that the receipt said was organic weren't banded... I think they just input them wrong... he said to bring back the receipt and they will make up the difference... one of the reason's I get the receipt is so I can double check it or if needed can use it...
was on Yahoo earlier and read a story of a cat that had been missing 16 years found and returned to family totally amazing 16 years!!!!
as well as a panther that baby was lost and the reunion
oh and I saw a Western Tanager today in the trailer I have a feeder for them :( one thing I totally miss is feeding the birds... no recommended here and sunflower seeds leave a lot of waste in the yard although I'm totally tempted to put up a niger seed sack no waste and in this area yes we get deer but no bear so think it would be ok
other than the stores didn't accomplish much oh funny thing I hate hate waiting for traffic if I can turn opposite the flow and even if I have to go a couple blocks out of my way will do so ... so going to leave Target and the traffic going the direction I wanted to go was just not fun so turned right here you either want a four way stop or light... so I go to the four way stop turn then realize that the highway ahead is a stop sign oops can't do that so turn left to the street I meant to get on only as I get into the lane I realize that it's a right turn only so I made a big circle finding myself back to the road in front of Target  but at least I was going the right direction   what I get for being impatient
hope Sue gets her power back soon and Beki travel safely
we've had winds again a really cold wind... even have had to turn up the pellet stove again sure hope the pansy's are doing ok
you all have a great day
