Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Morning All, still chilly but the sun is shining. Received the soil tester from Amazon and it is simple to use. #2 daughter has a small garden and last year she overwater the plants so bought her a tester too. Drove to #1 daughter to rinse the heavy pollen off the car. Have to take trash to dumpster so might run to the nursery. Think Ocean City had a classic car show. Saw a 1957 Chevy, be still my heart. Lol If something made you smile, let us know. Be safe

The dogs are getting restless. They know something is happening but they know that the pattern of behaviors aren't what leads up to a dog show. Heading off to Lexington for my 50th college reunion. I attended Transylvania University in Lexington, KY, for my undergraduate degree. There were only about 1000 students total and maybe about 200 in our graduating class. Good thing there will be name tags because I will not recognize many of the elderly people wandering around. I was not what anyone would consider a social butterfly but rather the introverted nerdy observer sometimes seen sitting behind the front desk of the women's dorm. Yes we still had to check in and out at the desk in the evenings and the boys would have to use the dorm phones to call upstairs to let girls know they were in the lobby waiting for them.... Back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Audrey and Jane have their luggage packed to stay with a friend and her family. They have multiple cats, so that will be Audrey and Jane's adventure. Audrey has stayed with them before several years ago but it will be a new experience for inquisitive Jane. Won't she be surprised. Lark will travel in the Road Trek with me. The Campground at the Horse Park is full with horse people coming to see the Rolex Event this weekend and after reading the reviews on the motels like the Red Roofs that I usually stay at for dog shows I decided I really didn't want to think about checking for bed bugs or putting up with potential loud neighbors. I found two different Cracker Barrels and a Cabelas to choose from for parking in tonight. Thus, traveling with a dog with a deep bark is a nice accouterment to a night's stay. The temperatures aren't expected to to too formidable and I have packed several Ryobi fans to use for back up if Lark needs them during the day. Off to be sure the rig starts and throws some clothes in. I went to the dermatologist on Tuesday so I already have an age related fashion statement of a swollen eye from where the Doctor took off a small growth. And gee I was worried about the scabs from the potential frozen spots. For the first time in years I left the office without any freezing. I finally figured I could put a small bandaid over it and proceed undeterred because I don't expect anyone there to recognize me either. And it I leave my name tag off....

I will admit to having a few friends from that time in my life (those of us on scholarships seem to have found each other) but from what I can tell the ones actually from my graduating class have not signed up to attend. Stay tuned to news at 11:00, just not saying which day.

Shirl, I think one of my boyfriends in high school had s 1957 Chevy. He was so memorable I can't remember his name but I remember his car. lol

Tina, your college experience sounds like mine. Had to wear dresses to class, couldn't go off campus in shorts and got sent back to change because my jeans were too tight. When I pass UL's campus in Lafayette I see girls in tank tops and short shorts going to class. Our house mothers would die. I only had 3 really close friends. One has passed and I usually see the other two about once a year because I RV. No need to go to the reunions because I wouldn't know all those old people. Friends that will dog sit are golden. My son says Sugar likes his girlfriend better than him because he gives her orders and Gina shares her food with her. Sugar is all about people food.

I was in a hurry this morning to put some trash in the bin before the truck passed. No need to hurry, they just passed. The truck passes anywhere from 4:00 in the morning until never. I'm glad they picked it up today because I forgot to ask my neighbor to put it by the road last week.

Last week when I was camping I was having the usual problem with my air conditioner tripping the main breaker. I decided to look at the filter and it had black on it. Not black from dirt. It didn't smell burnt so maybe it was oil. I showed it to the shop I usually go to but the guy wasn't there and hasn't called. If I go to Lafayette I think I'll show it to the other shop I use.

Martha, we remember important things. They can restore old cars, old boyfriends not so much. I get a lot of senior joke email. I don’t find them as funny as I use to. One made me laugh. If you think young people are smarter than you. Our owner manuals told how to adjust the valves. Todays manuals say do not drink the contents of the battery. Sorry but I think that is hilarious.

I survived the dentist! I had to have a filling and thankfully it was on the good side of my mouth. If it had been on the side where the trigeminal neuralgia is they would have to put met to sleep. I was still afraid it might cause it to flare up but so far I'm good. So glad it is done.
My boyfriend had a '57 chevy also, I got to drive it a few times and I always found someone to race at the stop signs. Shirl I saw the joke about the warning not to drink the battery content and thought it was really funny but also thought of how many either couldn't read the directions or would go ahead and try it anyway.
Enjoy your reunion Tina, I wouldn't stay in a Red Roof Inn either. I don't like any motel actually. ugh!! I went to my high school reunion but really didn't enjoy it. I always ran around with an older crowd and didn't really have much contact with my class.

My class should have had the 50 year reunion two years ago but COVID cancelled it two years. They are having it this fall and I won't be going.

If any of you knows anyone looking for a workamping job we need to fill a position(s) here asap. If a single or couple with only one worker it would entail some housekeeping and some front desk. If two people (one rig) and the 2 would want to work, there's always help needed in maintenance and landscaping. Pay for all hours and a full hookup site provided as well a free laundry. The housekeeper/front desk would report to me.

I always laugh at the directions needed on so many things today. Sadly all these companies are covering their butts from the idiots who are sue happy.

Yay, BJ, the dentist is done.

Hi ladies!

Shirl, I'm not familiar with the soil testers, so hope they do both of you good! Knowing the green thumb you have, I'm sure it'll work for you. Tina, have fun at your class reunion. I was an introvert the entire time I went to school and even though our 50th reunion was this past October, I would never have attended. Shirl, Martha & BJ, I still love the older model cars. The 57 Chevy's were so classy. BJ, I'm glad the dentist appointment is behind you and that everything went well. Beth, if we weren't so busy doing things here getting tags, licenses, etc. transferred from MD to FL, I would have loved to have been able to help out at the hotel. Steve & I managed hotels eons ago, so we are somewhat familiar with the business.

We are expecting a next day air package with the corrected title for Steve's truck, so we can have that transferred to FL. The other two vehicles are done. The weather is spectacular with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the low 80's.

Hi ladies~~~
I was never much of a gardener, so I guess it's just 'good luck' on your plantings Shirl.

I read Tina's post and only saw the Rolex at KHP. So I reread it. Me? I'd skip the reunion and go to Rolex, but have fun Tina.

Glad the dentist went OK BJ. And Beth, on the job opening. It's a nope from me. ;)

Anyway, I got to Shipshewana IN yesterday for a few days. Mostly just watching the horse & buggys going by, but I did wander a few stores today. Found a few things at Yoder's hardware. Gosh I love that place. And sending some cheese curds to Laura in CA (asuza).

It's definately construction season already. My exit off of 80/94 was closed, so I had a 20 minute drive thru Michigan. Geesh. Now I've got to figure out how to get to Cleveland from here. Wish me luck lol

Have a good day ladies. Enjoy what ever makes your heart happy.

I also survived the dentist this morning. I had known that the bone graft did not take well the last time, but had been told they would put in implant, but add more bone at this appointment. Anyway, they decided to just add bone since there would be a chance of the implant moving around while I was out of the country. That is OK with me, but I am back to having a really sore mouth and stitches to have to be careful of. I had nothing to eat before my 11 am appointment, and then had a ginger ale on my way here to a new campground. Stopped at a small grocery to get some more soft foods, like cottage cheese, eggs, and soup. Had some cottage cheese, then scrambled a couple of eggs. I could still eat more, but will wait until later this evening.

Also, I have been thinking of cats and Tina's comment about them licking their butts. Good point, but I think that could be keeping themselves clean. However, I have to admit there is nothing more smelly than cat poop, whether it is in a litter box or outside. Also, I was reminded of the cat food we fed our cat in the early 50s--remember "Puss 'n Boots" brand? It smelled a lot like rotten fish, and back in those days there was no dried cat kibble. Yuck!!

I took a couple of Aleve, and it has helped, but I suspect I will go to bed early.

Good afternoon gals!

Not doing much today. Had some toast when I got up (slept 12 hours! ) but got a tummy ache from that and now I have a headache so just hanging out on my bed. I got my new phone delivered this morning so that is charging up now. Will get that transferred later today. Hope I don't have any issues with this one.

They put those warnings on things because someone actually tried it. People are not too bright now days.

Irmi, sorry to hear about your friend. What a freak situation and at only 62!

I have gone to all my class reunions except the last one, the 40th. Way too expensive and most of those I hung around with never go to them. The last one I went to was $85 and had no food or music and was outside under a tent! What was all that money for?? :?

We had another big Santa Ana wind event yesterday. Was such strong winds and heavy dust/sand in the air all day and last night. I had planned to finally get my car washed after work last night but figured it would have been a waste of time. Will go out today and get that done. It is just slightly breezy today (and hot!).

I feel a nap coming on but I should eat lunch first.

Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Thought I posted this morning but I guess not. Well better late than never. Shirl I bought one of those water gauges last year I thought it worked pretty good. I have procrastinated enough that I still havent gone to Walmart yet. Probably Monday as the weekends are crazy here so nothing I need that badly. I am still working on getting rid of my cough but when you have allergies you dont know if it is that or not. It is so much better than it was tho so guess I am on the mend.

Sue your fences turned out really good. I am sure the dogs love it now. I havent gone to any reunions. I have friends that went and said it just wasnt that much fun. I can think of better things to do with my money I guess. Not much going on here today, just going to have some cereal for dinner or peanut butter and toast.

I disagree that people are not too bright these days. Instead, my experience as a part-time college teacher over the past 30+ years has taught me that in the past 5-10 years, students have stopped reading assignments, so I would classify them as lazy. I am absolutely serious about this. They skim and skip a lot of information, unless you put it in bold print and repeat it multiple times. And this is even after reminding them to read the assignment instructions carefully.

And my students were NOT kids. This was what used to be called a "senior college" so students entered it from community colleges, as Juniors, having already completed the basic courses at the community college. Thus, the average starting age for undergrads at this non-traditional college was 28, and there were a lot of students in their 30s and above. Actually, I used to LOVE having older students because they not only read the assignments, but they actually proofread their work! The 20-somethings? Forget it.

I don't know if it is the internet teaching them to skim or texting or what, but it drove me crazy to spent hours carefully writing out detailed instructions and have students not bother to read them. And the college system kept track of how long students kept a document open or if they opened it at all, so I knew who read what and how much time each one spent. (If a student asked a question about an assignment, I would check his/her reading log and if they spent only a few seconds, would not answer until they read it more carefully. Some students found it more "efficient" to call me and have me explain an assignment than to actually read the instructions.) Can you imagine spending only 10 seconds reading a full page of instructions?? And then complaining about the grade you got? That was one of the big reasons I quit after 31 years of teaching.

So, I think companies have learned that in order to keep customers from assembling things wrong or electrocuting themselves, they start putting notices such as "This plastic bag is not a toy" or "Don't take this medicine if you are allergic to it!" They are doing this to protect themselves from lawsuits from people who use products in dangerous ways because they haven't read the instructions.

OK, so maybe people really aren't so bright anymore!!!

it's funny how time flies by when you aren't doing much of anything... I was hoping to list all of this stuff that
I did when I thought hmmm I didn't do much of anything... I did get of load of wash done cooked some chicken for chicken salad had some croissants that I wanted to use up before they got harder and that sounded good... even though it was snow flurries coming down as we were eating thought that it wasn't the best weather for cold food...
and cleaned the pellet stove... twice  I don't know why but sometimes even though I vacuum the inner part out I guess I didn't get it all.... so had to go back and revacuum it this time it decided to fire up...
so although I felt busy it seems I wasn't and then I worked on my border some more and didn't have the count right so will have to do something maybe tomorrow night if I get back in time... so to the big town hair cut and lots of stuff to pick up going to really hit the pocket book... :?
still need to bring up clothes from the dryer as I need a clean shirt for tomorrow and yep pj's are in it..
I think Shipshewanna is a place I'd love to visit...
you all have a great night
