Morning All, much cooler and windy. A red alert for fire in my area which is rare. Hope the geranium survived cold last night. Shelia, I watch garden shows from England and Scotland and they also encourage planting for pollinators and other wild life. I just stopped in to start the the morning. Be safe

Good morning Shirl. Just finishing up breakfast and coffee then will start my day. I am going to the dreaded Walmart this morning. This store is so busy here in Roseburg as we have a shortage of places to shop. But I need a few things they carry so I will just suck it up.

It's mid 50's here and slight breeze. Son has Dr appointment early afternoon and I have various chores to do. We still hope for more rain before the summer heat begins. I don't mind our Walmart here, though I don't go often.

Good afternoon ladies!

Shirl, thanks for starting our day! Karen, I don't care for Walmart and go there only when I can't find what I'm looking for anywhere else. Up until recently, I hadn't been to one for two years during the pandemic. Velda, I hope you get your much needed rain.

We're above 80 and it's breezy today with intermittent sun and clouds. I showed Steve how to start the clothes washer in the coach yesterday. A close friend of ours died this past week during knee surgery of a blood clot. She would have been 62 this year and was planning on retiring and we were told her husband is a wreck. Since I do most everything here, from laundry to cooking to paying bills, I want Steve to be somewhat familiar with all the above in the event I should be the first to go. I hope all is well in your worlds.

Another cold chilly day in MN. Cloud cover and wind. Spring is at least two weeks behind. Some lakes in Northern MN still have not had ice out. Supposed to rain out tomorrow. Wished the night temperatures would warm up so I could plant a planter of pansies for the back step. Same for church but that means hauling them in every night and I don't want to drive to town twice daily just to move flower pots.
Our washing machine died about Christmas time and I haven't replaces it yet. It was only 3 years old and I hated the thing from day one. I refuse to spend money to get it fixed. To operate it at all there was one button to push. hold for seconds to stop the agitation and unlock the lid to add more clothes or more detergent. My arthritic fingers couldn't put enough pressure on the button so I had to use a piece of dowel rod. We have been going to the laundromat every two weeks which is kind of nice. Load 4 washers at once and we are done in a little over a half hour. Come home and put the wash and wears in the dryer and hang the rest on a clothes rack set in front of the wood stove.
Started some tomato, peppers, basil, cilantro, spinach, lettuce, beets , carrots, 4"oclocks, marigolds, african daisies, and cosmos in the green house. Will start some cabbage and broccoli today.
Time to clean off my desk. Have a great day everyone.

Time sure gets away from me and half the day is gone before I know it. This morning the thing that holds the shower head broke again so had to mess with that before I could take a shower and get dressed. I saw something on Amazon that might would work to hold it. My neighbor that feeds the barn cats is on vacation so I had to go out to the barn to feed them. Decided to mow part of the grass in front of the barn so I don't run into a snake. Sometimes the cows get turned into there but there is plenty of grass in the pasture. I had to figure out how much chemical to mix to spray the weeds and grass in the fence row. Sprayed a little but it's hot doing that in the middle of the day.

Karen, I have been trying to stay out of Walmart. I remind myself that every time I go in there it costs me $100. I need a new brush head for my electric toothbrush but since I'm so forgetful I have forgotten it two or three times.

Irmi, that's sad about your friend. I have started a list for my son of things that need to be taken care of and what to do. That will be interesting but I hope I won't be here to worry about it.

Rita, It's bad when we hate our appliances. I hate my washing machine too. Every time I wash something bulky or even towels I have to keep rebalancing the load or the stupid thing just keep filling up with water. You are the first person that has ever mentioned 4'oclocks. My grandmother's side yard was full of them. Her yard was very sandy and she had free range chickens so it was always clear under them. We would play under them and gather the little black seeds.

My son and his girlfriend want to come eat crawfish tonight in Abbeville. They are not the most punctual people and I don't like to eat late.

I went fishing late yesterday afternoon. The water is down about a foot and I only caught a few small perch. We could sure use some rain too but doesn't look there is much in sight. The weather was nice but as soon as the sun started going down it got cool fast. It got down to 56 again.

It has been really nice here, cloudy but no rain and temps in the mid 70's plus the wind isn't too bad. My kind of day as I don't like full sun. Irmi I think about showing my DH where things are and how they are done but he starts gazing off into space about the third sentence. I had my final check up on my cataract surgery today. I'm so glad it is over but not really happy with my vision. I bought the IOL which hoping I wouldn't need readers but looks like for some things I will need them. Also my vision isn't always the same, they suggested Refresh eye drops. Not one person in the facility besides me had on a mask which I thought might still be required as they are right in your face but, it is in the next county where people never did wear masks much. That county consistently had more cases of Covid and more deaths when they were tracking.
Pippa threw up twice yesterday before I figured she was eating the bricks on the fireplace! They are original to the house which was built in the mid 50's so guess they are getting soft. My neighbor said her daughters cat peels and eats caulking out of the bathroom and peels off the wallpaper.
I won't go to Walmart in this town too scary but the one in a nearby town is ok. I just don't like Walmart it's too big and lines are too long.
I'm in the hate my washer group it is so bad in comparison to the stack Maytag I had for 25 years. Can only wash small loads and it gets off balance all the time.
Time for Wheel of Fortune. Enjoy your evening.

I'm back ... it was as I suspected a cord gone bad... at least that is what the tech thought and so I got a new one and so far it works... I got a generic one saved me a few dollars... a few
so that was my big deal of the day load in the washer and into the dryer and to Staples... it always amazes me that this town has a Staples and has for many years...
I hopefully have my count right on my crochet :? it's taken me a few tries the last one I did I discovered a way of marking that seems to help me get it correct
having a cup of hot chocolate but think I didn't put enough chocolate mix in it... oh well it's warm... and not hot enough either.. can only blame the one who made it right? I sip so I make it really hot so it stays hot for a longer time... it's not hot enough now
we got rain today actually never measure it but it was pretty heavy for awhile it is so needed and so appreciated...
went to a meeting tonight was very nice
so didn't get two rows in just one but that is ok although I may do just one another night so I am in the right synches
you all have a great night
