Snow Covered Tuesday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Snow Covered Tuesday Morning

Good Morning from the snowy 45th. 31° And cloudy, yesterdays wet snow has moved on and left just enough to cover the ground behind. Will be gone by days end. Temps are heading upward starting today, after being 20 degrees below normal for the past week. Should be in 60’s, possibly 70 by weekend, which is above normal in the other direction  Ah, spring in Michigan.

Shirl, you and your green thumb have gotten me motivated to getting back into growing flowers again. Now that my fence project is done, I have this nice set of round fence braces on all ends and corners of the fence to play with. The front fence line in particular. Time for some bird houses and flower boxes out there :) Debating on whether to start from seed or get flowers when they come in shortly and keep them inside till safe to put out and leave out, which is usually after Memorial Day here. Our last frost/freeze date is around then. NWS says it’s looking above normal from mid May to early summer this year, so might get some bonus time this year. Ya never know. The big box stores and places here always wind up getting their flowers in about this time of year and then they all have to keep them inside because it’s too cold to set them out in the garden centers  Then they have to try to keep them alive until they can put them out. It’s not unusual to be in be shopping and have to navigate the aisles with multi shelves of flowers sitting in them, especially in Lowes and Home Depot.

Reading posts about the Jetson’s yesterday, got me thinking too, about how much of science fiction and other things we watched as kids, has become reality now. One can only wonder what will be in the future even after we are gone.

Judy, all the issues with your pump makes me wonder if something in the electrical system is making them short out. I do know and I know you do as well, that when hooked up to full hookups a lot, one needs to exercise the pump to keep seals and such from drying out and pump operating properly.

BJ, hope Pippa gets to feeling better. That is one shot I have never given my dogs as ai have no plans to board them. Looks like you need to be taking Pippa outdoors more often to do potty and eventually she will get the hang of it. I start my dogs right after I get them as pups and they have housebroken fast. Karen, Molly was like Emma, I kept her in her pen area at night but during the day she was out in the house, and I kept and eye on her, made sure she got out to potty during the day, zumpteen times. After about Maybe three weeks of pen and potty pads at night, she hated that pen and would cry to be let out. Finally I took it down and she was fine from then on. Slept in her bed all night.

Sun’s trying to come out. Might go to town and start gathering the flower stuff.. Need to make the flower boxes to mount on the fence and then then can set plastic ones inside them. So first thing will be getting those and the lumber, brackets etc. Things happen fasta with the warm temps. Lawn tractor to put battery in and start up for season, some debris piles to move in back yard here, running dethacher over the yard to loosen up the ground and get the grass growing, removal of the rest of the little stubs, roots etc. in the new fenced area. Always lots of chores when spring kicks in. But I love it.

Morning Sue and All, it rained all yesterday and into the night. Power went out sometime last night so got up to flashing lights everywhere. Need to hang on until Thursday when it’s suppose to get warmer. Sue will look forward to seeing your hanging flower planters. I debated seeds versus plants too. I could get a tray of plants cheaper than a pack of seeds. I don’t need 1000 seeds so buy plants. It is economical if you want lots of plants and have space to store seeds. I hear a chirping and think there might be a baby bird who survived the attack. That might be why Moe and Floe are being so quiet. The drama continues. Lol. Be safe

HI all.

Wishing everyone a late Happy Easter.

Weather here, of course, is perfect.

My son took their RV to the mountains outside of San Diego for a few days. Thus, I've got the week off from taking care of Jordi - so I'm practicing for summer & fall when he starts preschool/daycare full-time. :D I love the little guy dearly, but school is so good for him - they have so many activities & he is growing by leaps & bounds there.

French class is keeping me very, very busy. Not sure how we did it when we were young - working & taking a full load of courses. I'm very impressed with the college I'm taking them at - they require that you attend 4 hours of tutoring (doesn't cost anything). While I didn't think I really needed it, they have been very helpful. They also required that we attend 2 films during their French film festival. Great movies! An extra one I went to was in German - Balloon (2018). It's a true story about two families who attempt to escape East Germany in 1979 in a hot air balloon. it's available on Roku or Pluto for free. It kept the audience on the edge of their seats. I haven't been in a movie theater for many years & it was fun as everyone reacted almost in unison to what was happening. If you're looking for something to watch on TV, I highly recommend Balloon.

I need to resume walking more & stop eating sweets as I've gained back some of the weight I lost in France. :( Trying to walk to the store with a list & coming out with only what's on the list - yeah, right! ;)

Loved the pics of the flowers in Hawaii & hearing what everyone else is doing. Not sure I'll ever fully catch up until class is over, but I enjoy stopping by once in a while to see what's happening here.

Hope those of you getting hit by the storms stay safe & warm.
Take care of yourselves,
Catherine

This cold has knocked me down and it's an uphill battle but I will prevail. I think it'd be better if I could have gotten more than an hours sleep at a time last night. I'm exhausted. My eyes hurt reading so I wish everyone well and will catch up later. I brought a blanket, pillow and Ty into the back room at the office and I'm going to try for a nap. Please doorbell, stay quiet lol

Had an appt with an ophthalmologist today at noon, and she said no signs of any glaucoma or macular degeneration. I worry about the last because my mother had that and became almost blind. Also, had bone density test this afternoon, and not too bad, which I am glad of. But I figure the two hard falls I have had in the last couple of years on my electric bike sort of showed that my bones were not too bad because I did not break anything. :P

Also, I cannot get into the dealer to get water pump checked until Thursday morning, so this morning, I moved into a full hookup spot in this state park. They added several new spots last year, but I was a little worried about not being able to get satellite TV. I only am getting one of three satellites right now, but the site I have for two weeks in May is next door, and it looks like it is a bit better in terms of an open area to the southwest. Anyway, one channel makes me happy, and if I get bored with those programs, I can catch up on my reading.

Drove to my appointments today with heavy snow that was even sticking to the ground, so I did not look forward to hooking up water, electric, and sewer in new spot, but just as I pulled in the snow stopped and the sun came out!! Still almost freezing and supposed to get down to 26 tonight, but the wind and snow was really messy, so glad it is gone for a few hours and snow on ground has melted. Supposed to be much warmer on Thursday, assuming I can survive another cold night and possible snow tomorrow for another doctor appointment. At least, I have enough propane and am looking forward to a hot shower tonight.

I just spent an hour putting away my computer and organizing the mess under my dinette. Printer and a couple of things go under left bench, and i stuff extra paper towels & TP, my stacking pans, extra flour and sugar, and a variety of pop, or soda for you folks on the east coast. Coke for the southerners, and what do you call it in the west??? Anyway, I am done printing so all is well.

and today I accomplished nothing made a mistake and knew it when I did.... picked up a book one of "those" days cloudy out actually down right dreary and then it snowed but didn't stick so one of those days that reading is a good thing... folded clothes and did two half rows ought to start calling it that as we work from middle to ends... and of course those stupid stories one can get sucked into on FB... the Reddit ones and similar.. they can be out and out sad to see the discord in peoples lives... and yes some are probably made up and even sadder is that I spend too much time reading them...
tried to get my dd's to come over and help eat some of that ham but they can't until Sat... by then the scalloped potatoes should be gone one way or the other... the deviled eggs better be we had taco's tonight just didn't even want ham so need to figure out something for tomorrow might be soup that would take a bag of potatoes out of the freezer as well as the 2 slices of garlic bread... all would be a help...
you all have a great night

Growing up in Minnesota, it was pop as well. I am getting used to saying soda now.
