Monday April 18

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Monday April 18

Morning All, going to be a rainy day. Temp is 44° outside but 74° in the apartment without heat. Had a nice family dinner. Would have loved to bring home offered food but don’t need potato salad and Mac and cheese.lol Will be a stay home day without shoes or tight clothing. Debating whether to plant herbs In one of the large containers. Might be easier to care for them than in tiny pots. Read to put cheesecloth over your AC to filter pollen. Have been trying to figure a way to crack a window and cover with cheesecloth. I do have a roll of painters tape, won’t be pretty but might work. Be safe

Mornin' Shirl & all that follow~~~
No pollen here in the NW Chitown burbs. Woke up to snow on the trees and grass. Ah, Spring in the Chicago suburbs. Not much planned here today or tomorrow, but everything has found a home in the new trailer.

That's my itty bitty. Have a good day everyone.

I will just say Morning as so far it hasn't been that good. Pippa still isn't back to normal after her kennel cough vaccination. She doesn't want to eat the bland diet or the yogurt with lots of good probiotics. We don't have snow but it is cloudy and 42 with a 'feels like temp' of 34. Friday though we will be in the 80's We will probably skip spring and go straight to the heat and humidity of summer at this rate.
Shirl that is amazing that your apartment is so warm when it is so cold outside, it must be well insulated. I would have skipped the offer of potato salad and especially Mac and cheese. Potato salad is ok but Mac and cheese is a definite no. I think I am in the minority though on that opinion.
Cheryl I hope they have your new RV road ready and you can soon be on the road.
We watched Call the Midwife last night and the show really takes one back in time particularly on medical treatments. When I read about developing medical research it is hard to imagine that what we consider advanced now will soon be regarded in the same way. Also I was intrigued when watching 60 Minutes by the Jetson like transportation they are testing. I think that was my favorite part of the Jetsons, when they flew around rather than used an automobile.
Emma is home today after a weekend dog show. She got another 2 'legs' toward her UDX 4. There is nationally known handler with a a border collie that is usually at the same shows she enters that is hard to beat.
I lack motivation today, I'm blaming it on the clouds.

Oh, BJ, I wish I'd seen that 60 minutes. The Jetsons was one of my favorites and it's fun to see so much coming to pass that was so advanced back then. I agree that threw changes are happening with leaps and bounds. In the few years since I quit working on websites I'm pretty much way behind if I wanted back in and don't know if I'd catch up.

Yesterday the full time person in the RV office sounded terrible. Last night I felt the cold coming on here. Too soon for her to pass it along so chances are we both were in contact with the same sick person. I'm off todayand pretty miserable :( But Ty is thrilled to have me home. I want to go back to bed but am afraid I wouldn't sleep tonight and I have to work tomorrow. So I'll just rest.

Cheryl, it's fun watching everything coming together to get you back on the road. The excitement builds!

Shirl, the heart rising is a real thing in apts and condos. I remember my mom's condo stayed warm for that reason.

Another cloudy day. Rain for the rest of the week. We need it so I am not complaining. Just give me a peek at the sun for a couple hours and I will be good. Dont think that is going to happen today. I am lacking motivation today also but need to figure out something to fix for dinner. Decided I dont need the store today as I have plenty in my freezer. I am thinking fish and chips, yup that should work for dinner. Think I will just stay snuggled in my recliner with my heated throw today.

Regarding apartment temperature: this is a 3 story building and I live on the second floor. I am surrounded by other apartments, so well insulated. My only windows faces south so solar heat. Lol. Temperature really warms in the afternoon.

Good Morning

Cloudy here as well plus rain this week. The kids fixed a nice dinner yesterday. I came home with leftovers plus reclaimed my Easter decorations. :)

Beth, I hope the day off leaves you feeling better! Nothing going on here but a dentist appointment this afternoon.

Sun s out here, but Karens rain is supposed to drop south to us overnight. We had a quiet weekend here at home. Deputy son wrote of his harrowing adventures on duty, including a suspect who rammed his patrol vehicles 3 times and his partners too, totaling at least one vehicle , before son rammed the guy one last time and got him stopped before having to use his gun! Both son and partner are bit sore, but both are ok, thankfully. Squads (patrol vehicles), not so much and they are short on vehicles due to back orders on vehicles and equipment such as cages and push bumpers. A Mom much prefers to hear these stories after the fact, for sure ! I would turn down the Mac n cheese and potatoes too. Well I need to get going here. Have a good day.

I didn't do anything yesterday but eat my Easter dinner that was dropped off. I would be all over that potato salad and mac & cheese! :D

Today I worked. It was pretty slow I think because of the Coachella Fest, with everyone hung over and/or headed home for the week. Tour buses are gone for now as well.

Weather here is sunny, of course, and the forecast for the rest of the week is for ......drum roll please......Severe winds! :o

I have tomorrow off. I will probably sleep in since I doubt anyone will show up again for putters golf. I have a haircut at 10am. Then will see how windy it is. I need to sweep and spray down my sidewalk, patio and car port. Lots of stuff collected from the winds last week. Kind of pointless, I suppose if it is just gonna be windy again. My car needs a bath badly but, again, that seems pointless with the upcoming winds and dust blowing all over. Maybe next week... :| I have laundry to do and books to read. I need to frost my hair again so maybe will do that too.

I bought a bottle of Salted Caramel Baileys tonight and it is really good!

Am having issues with my new phone. When I get text messages from certain people, it just tells me I have a new message available and to download the message. I have to hit the download button to read the message but sometimes it doesn't show up. One of the people it is happening with is my manager and I need to have access to her text messages. Anyone know why that is doing that? Never had that happen with any other phone I have owned.

Absolutely nothing on TV tonight so will just play on the internet, read a little, and get to bed early.

Have a good night!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Still no working water pump. I went out on Saturday and bought a 5-gallon collapsible container and a one-gallon jug for drinking water. filled them both, as well as a bucket I have. Put bucket in shower so I could scoop water out for flushing and put big container by side door. I even rinsed off on friday night, but went to visit my son and family on Sunday, so took a real shower and washed my hair there. Borrowed son's car overnight to go to dentist today, and he brought me home. Dentist checked my tooth and said not much bone graft stayed, but will insert the post and more bone on April 29, and hope it would hold.

Otherwise, not much going on except I have had printer out and have been printing confirmations and other documents I might need for my UK trip. Have not been outside any more than I had to be--lows have been at freezing at night and not much warmer during the day. Today, it snowed big flakes for a couple of hours, but nothing stayed on the ground, luckily. Tried to make bread tonight, but it just would NOT rise, so I tossed it. Got two small heaters going and my regular furnace going off and on.

Tomorrow I go out in motorhome to see ophthalmologist and get a bone density test. Have not seen ophthalmologist since I had my cataracts removed almost three years ago, so shame on me.

I have an appointment for Thursday morning to get water pump checked, so can manage until then. Flushing is the worst part. Yuck. Amazing how we don't appreciate small stuff until we don't have it.

feel like I accomplish something today a batch of clothes in washer and into dryer swept kitchen floor remembered to turn on dish washer after breakfast was going to run it last night but forgot watered plants cut fringe on my crocheted afghan and put it away and pulled out the yarn I will be using and did two rows of Swedish Weave... most of the stuff didn't take that long to do but at least I can look back and think yes I did do something more than nothing...
I was just finishing my scripture reading when mom came to my room and asked if I knew why there were trucks in the driveway so got up and looked and saw trucks finally saw men so poked my head out of the door and asked why they were there they replied back that they needed to get to the pole in the back yard again... so got my entertainment watching them erect this big ladder and climb up it pretty interesting how they get the ladder to extend.... I wish though that they would come to the door and explain that they are just accessing the pole in the back yard so two old ladies won't wonder..
I think that we had more cloud than sun but then not sure can't remember looking out or up even when I took the garbage can out more interested in not tripping over anything...
Judy maybe it was too cold for the yeast to rise? saw a recipe for Brioche that I still want to try to make one day I guess
my dd called she had an exciting morning someone was trying to open the door so your partially opened it actually thinking her dd had slipped out back door and was giving her a rough time but no some strung out guy was there she pretty soon yelled at him to get off her property (he wouldn't respond when she asked what he needed) finally he left only to go to the neighbors did the same thing set the dogs off royally and so dd yelled at him that he didn't belong there and to leave the owner finally came out got him to leave by that time the police have been called so off he goes to the next house same thing only then he is trying to battered down the door with his shoulder (I think that only works in the movies) the police came and talked to him and arrested him.... dd said that was the fastest she has seen them respond... the door camera indicated he came from the north doing pretty much the same... wondering if the police came so quickly as there was others that called ahead of dd... glad Velda that your son was ok it would be a worry .... my son in law is a deputy sheriff but it's pretty much low crime more drunk driving speeding ect
hope you are feeling better Beth
BJ I can't remember what I was going to say something now can't remember what it was.... par to course

you all have a great day
