Friday April 15

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday April 15

Morning All, sunny and much cooler. Yesterday was 86° and today 67°. Yesterdays forecast of severe t-storm was a shower here. I’m not complaining but need to check the weather every couple hours to keep up with changes. Sheila, the Juliet is a fairly new grape tomato plant but produces 2” tomatoes. There aren’t many plants in garden centers yet so my panic to get one. I can slice lengthwise for a sandwich. I posted a link in general under the tulip heading. Haven’t heard any bird chatter this morning so maybe Moe and Floe have moved on. Yesterday I left the door cracked and had the broom handy. Was going to do battle if a monster bird invaded my space. Tina, I think a Treasure Hunt At the Laundromat sounds like fun. Lol No special plans for the day. Fish tacos for dinner. Be safe

Good morning. 34° And bit breezy here. Still anchored to earth aftrr yesterday’s wind. One gust of 54 mph. was recorded in Gaylord. Chiily eeekend with some snow showers and maybe minor accumulations coming up. Sunday looking good though.

Shirl, hope your birds rebuild. Maybe they are out hunting materials. Like Anne, you are giving me the itch to start a bit of gardening. Thinking containers.

Tina, your post made me laugh between the Treasure Hunt and the fitting room. You have such a gift with words. First person I know who went to a laundromat and probably came out with more than you spent

Heading off to church in awhile for Good Friday services and the followed by last Fish Fry. So not doing anything today. Do want to change my bed, but has been occupied. However the occupant (Piper) just spotted a squirrel outside and wanted out pronto, so bed is now available to change  squirrel is outside the fence so it’s not going to amount to anything except a frustrated dog

Good Morning, The weather must be crazy everywhere. The weather news scared everyone here for two days about a storm that thankfully never developed except for rain and thunder. I gave Pippa a new to her toy this morning and she is having a great time attacking it. She always has to be sure it isn't dangerous. She is going to the vet this afternoon and I hope the Dramamine works. Our vet is about a half hour drive and she gets car sick if I don't remember to give it too her at least an hour before we leave. I took her for her walk yesterday and she was in a hurry to get back inside. She ran straight to her piddle pad! I've got to figure out how to let her know she can potty outside.
Add me to the list of being tired all the time. I'm starting to think it's the BP medicine but then I also wonder if it is from the Covid shots or most likely the fact that I am old! The person who took my BP at my last office visit didn't seem to know exactly how to do it and it was low for me, the doctor commented on it but didn't retake it. I of course should have asked. I have gained a little weight but could use 5-10 pounds more.

Judy I don't envy you out looking for water in the middle of the night. Your water pump must be temperamental.

Shirl I can see you armed and ready for those monster birds.

Martha, I hate my washing machine also, it is way too small but at the time it was the only one I could find that fit the space. My wonderful 23 year old Maytag had a leak in the tub and the parts were discontinued.

Mornin' ladies~~~

Sorry I've been AWOL lately. Busy finalizing dad's Financials and loading the new camper. Had to get a new WDS system yesterday. They did something to the chain placement on the trailer and my existing hitch would have caused the chains to snap. It happened to 2 other owners with the same hitch I had. Not an expense I wanted, but better safe than sorry.

And Punkin and I are hitting the road today!!!! woohoo!!! It's going to be cold for the first few nights, so I'll miss the heat in the house. But the temps look alot more doable next week. Will head up to WI to go to the Midwest Horse Fair and catch up with a few cousins. Then to Shipshewana, CuyahogaNP, PA to the Flight 93 memorial and towards New England. I still need to find a CG near Acadia NP so...

Have a good day ladies! And Peggy I'll call or text once I get closer. Maybe you'll be home by that time(?).

Shirl, I thought of you when I saw this. I might have to try it for a campout. lol

I'm not sure if I'm tired all the time or just lazy. I think I must look pretty bad because people hurry to open doors for me. I need to get back to walking again since my foot doesn't hurt much anymore. It's so easy to just be lazy.

BJ, I have about 50 pounds I can give you. My trip to New Orleans helped me lose 5 of the 10 pounds I had gained. It's a fight to lose the other 5.

I haven't seen any squirrels around here this year. Sugar would love to chase one. The cats must keep them away. I was late feeding last night and the possum came to eat while I was there. If I didn't get too close he just kept eating. The raccoons keep trying to take food to go. I saw one of the bowls in the pasture but didn't feel like climbing through the fence to go get it.

I would like to take Sugar's bed to the laundromat. It's been years since I have been to the one in town and they use to have a sign that said not to wash dog beds.

Cheryl, glad you are finally able to hit the road.

It's breezy and overcast today with scattered showers. I would like to go fishing but it's too hard to fight the wind and the gates are closed to get to the pond.

I slept in this morning. So nice! :D

I used to keep my tip money in my pants pockets and then would find it all in the dryer when I washed clothes! It was usually $20's that I had cashed in my one's and five's for. That was always a pleasant surprise!

We had a pair of swallows that built a nest in the garage on top of the light in there. I think when the light was on, it cooked the eggs and they would keep laying new eggs. I told my dad he needed to keep the garage door closed all the time when they were not in there so they would move on. They finally did tho.

When I lived in Vista, I had raccoons who would steal the food bowls and run off with them. I found one once that they had peed in after eating the food! Crazy critters!

Still looks pretty windy out this morning. Need to get some motivation to get busy around here. Hard to get motivated to do house cleaning but it needs to get done.

Cheryl, enjoy your travels in your new trailer!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

On the topic of tired, my question to myself and to my doctors is, what is normal and what is something I can do something about. After getting so acutely ill in November of 2020 and being told by the surgeon removing my Gallbladder that I must have been sick for sometime, I thought back to symptoms and fatigue that I had just powered through because, hey, I had just turned 70 and my body wasn't telling me what was aging what was a faulty Gallbladder. After getting ill I fought to get my stomach to relearn to tolerate eating and I fought to get my legs back under me. After being flat on my back for three months either in the hospital or at home I did relearn how to move. Thank you sweet Lark dog. As I have mentioned to several already what the different now is that before getting ill things like my trip to Florida this winter where I am forced to get up and move everyday by the needs of the dogs to walk and walk and walk, I alway regained strength and stamina as the days and weeks went by. The walks became less tiring , more enjoyable, and after a couple weeks, the dogs and I would both happily extend distances. I didn't experience the increase in my stamina this winter. I still had to be sure to get out and move because the dogs needed it but it was not as enjoyable and I often found myself talking myself out of that extra loop or section of a trail.

Sunshine and no snow! A trace forecasted for tomorrow morning.

I have come up with several reasons for being tired including lazy and not motivated, but I'm sure age has something to do with it as well. I'm looking forward to the road trip and just being away from everything to maybe clear my head. As usual, it's almost noon and I'm not dressed yet.

Cheryl, I'm looking forward to your travel reports! Shirl, I brought 'grape' iris (lilac color and smell like grapes) from my aunt in Kansas and shared with family and friends. Monica had so many, but she transplanted them to a friend's house and never retrieved them. Maybe they'll be blooming when I'm in Kansas so I can snag some. Not the ideal time, but my aunt can never remember where they are. I don't often buy anything to get change, but I found a treasure trove in the bottom of my purse! No wonder it was heavy! Judy, your blog reminded me to get a sim card in Ireland!

Got up to see 3 men conversing in the parking lot - got my eyes open and realized they were sheriffs! No idea what they were doing here in 2 cars. Office wasn't open yet so doubt they know anything.

Good afternoon. It’s been awhile but I’ve been trying to keep up with all of you. Just been going through some “stuff” with me and with Rascal of late but with the promise of spring I seem to be be getting a handle on it all. Spring so far just being a day or two here and there but I’ll take it and enjoy it. Wind came in about noon yesterday and don’t know exactly how hard it was blowing but saw the neighbors huge pine tree really swaying in it. Makes me glad we had the one by our driveway cut down years ago! Still not sure what the travel season is going to look like for me this year. Mostly depends on Rascal at this point. Plus I have never been a huge planner when I go anywhere, just stop and try to find a nearby campground to stay. Things seem to be changing to the point of having to plan and that’s just not usually how I go. And since I can’t seem to find someone to paint the outside of my house I think I’ll have to do all I can myself and that’ll take up a good part of the nice weather this spring and summer. So this may be the year I just enjoy reading about all of your travels. Judy, really looking forward to your big adventure and look forward to reading all about it. Sue, we seem to be getting some of your weather here! I had a great day the other day in 70 plus temps and got a bunch of yard work done but here we are again with low temps, rain and wind. Monday they’re saying possible snow flurries again! As long as it’s just flurries I don’t get to worried about all my daffodils that are blooming. They seem to be able to handle it most of the time! Beth, hope you have a good season and get to enjoy some of the sights where you are. Cheryl, nice that you are finally able to get out on your next adventure. Tina, appreciate your uplifting posts and enjoy hearing about your pups and your adventures. And Shirl, love your balcony gardening! Maybe since I fingered on being home more this year I’ll put in a few more veggies and flowers. Maybe! It’s still easy to hit the Amish markets around here for fresh veggies and then I don’t have a bunch I’m not sure what to do with! But the flowers are doable! Well, I’ve rambled enough and need to get some housework finished that I started earlier! Hope you all have a good weekend and a good Easter.

Water pump stopped working again, but this time permanently, just after I posted last night. Washed off with just a washcloth last night, but today went out to try to get the only local RV dealer to look at my pump, but no luck. I did get names of a couple of mobile repairmen, but no one has called me back yet. I stopped by Walmart and got a collapsible 5-gallon water jug and a one-gallon kitchen container for drinking water. Filled both up at faucet--much easier in daytime. Also got a gallon of windshield cleaner so put that in motorhome and refilled it with water for flushing. I had some water left over from yesterday so added some boiling water to warm it up, and took a shower and washed my hair, using a container to rinse after soaping up. Feel much cleaner and still have water left over for tonight. Whew. Talk about tired.

Also have gained a little weight in last few months, so put smaller sizes away in basement storage, and also put away some things that were under my bed that I don't need right away. I had lost 40 pounds since starting traveling, so that is now down to 32 pounds. Need to get rid of those 8 pounds that I gained.

Also added quart of oil to RV because I can't get an oil change right away. It is getting really hard to lift up the heavy hood because my left shoulder is so sore, but I manage.

Had a lot of mail and packages to go through last night and this morning, but am finally back to being more organized. Kids and grandkids are at their condo on Lake Erie, but will be back early on Sunday, and i will head over there. If still no water, will take another shower there!! Campground is full because this is a three-day weekend for most kids and some adults. Will be quieter next week.

First day the motel is open. We only have 4 rooms booked and 3 have arrived so I'm just waiting on #4. I can put a bell on the door and carry the ringer so might do that in a minute. Ty knows his dinner time and it's 20 minutes passed. He must be cursing at me lol.

I must admit I get tired easier. Abs it's worse now that I'm getting up so early. That's going to be the hardest part for me this summer. I keep telling myself no one but me got me into this mess lol. I also have trouble accepting that I'm turning 70 this year. Yikes. Lolol. Tina I'm so glad to have Ty to walk. I know I wouldn't do nearly as much walking without him (same with my previous dogs). With these early mornings I an cussing when I get up even earlier for his walk, though.

went to the store first stopped at the pumps got a few gals of gas but for some reason it didn't read my Smith's card to get my points so I only got a few gals.... have lots of points to use which will really help with the cost of premium think it was 3.69 I think... then in a spent a wad... wanted a bone in not cut ham all they had was spiral cut so took it but it's not mom's favorite left the store and realized that I'd forgotten the shrimp the hot chocolate mix and the salad stuff... guess who is going back to the store tomorrow?
It's been really windy today a cold wind... When I woke up I heard my nephew shoveling the deck so figured that the "flurries" we had left a lot of snow over night... mom has some bushes in front of her front window that really shows the snow when it snows... and it was full again.. don't know how much we got but some it is all welcome it's got to help right?
yesterday when I was a the table working on my afghan mom mentioned that the robins must have left later I looked out the window and saw a huge swarm of robins light in the tree's I honestly don't know if I've ever seen that many all at one time of course it's hard to count them but I'm guessing at least 24 or more it was so special...
I saw a commercial the other day from a plant source food for dogs... saying that an all plant food is best for dogs.... it made me pause... aren't dogs cornaver's ?
Beth you said that your continental breakfast was better than last years what did you do differently?
Judy the pump is out again??? how many does this make? it's amazing I usually keep a couple gals of water in my rest room for flushing just in case.... I'm where I don't want to turn on the pump... and since I never drink from the tank I always had gals of water one in fridge and 4 more.. it's cheaper to get 5 gals of water than it getting them singly when I'm at my son in laws I have water but in the desert the water isn't the best but even in Idaho I just feel a gal up so I have cold water... but we all do things differently
think I am going to have a cup of hot chocolate trying not to do it every night...
you all have a great night

Sheila, I believe the answer is dogs are more omnivore, in that they can eat carnivore, but can also eat some of other things, where cats are true obligate carnivores and must eat meat.
Been cool here today, but no rain until early tomorrow morning predicted. I did Curves, 1.46 mi on treadmill, and stopped at credit union for some papers, then took son to grocery store for fixings for easter meals. I got a small boneless ham for dinner and couple potatoes to make him a small dish of scalloped potatoes. I'll eat ham and a steak probably. It will be a quiet day. Hopefully with some rain at some point.
Paper from credit union was last number I needed for taxes, then can write that check. Maybe get some stamping/watercoloring in.
