Morning All, a beautiful windy sunny morning. Nothing new on the island. It’s Monday so laundry day. Lol. Does anyone remember that certain days had certain chores. Heaven forbid if you didn’t hang your laundry on the clothesline properly. It was also ok to drape laundry on bushes, helped with stains. Pa. Sharon, you ok? Shelia, search “planting for city, and state”.for where you want planting zone. Steel cut oats and strawberries for breakfast. Haven’t decided about dinner. Be safe

Good Morning!

BFF left yesterday afternoon - lots of talking and eating out. Problems of the world are surely solved now. A couple more excursions reserved for our Panama cruise. Diane doesn't care for water or heights so we don't go on all the same excursions.

I've been skimming posts. Beth, glad you have arrived safely! Sheila, I hate to rain on your parade, but Northern Lights are a winter thing. Shirl, your green thumb is getting a good workout! Statin conversation was interesting. I put it off for a long time, but my former doctor finally convinced me 4 years ago. I will talk to new doctor at next appointment. Plus I will do some more reading. My dad's sister and cousins were all comparing notes on their cholesterol meds at one family reunion several years ago.

No phone has been sent, communication has stopped and the final e-mail to the company customer service person went out this morning before I draw someone else into this mess.

Weather has been very pleasant, but in for some wind and cooler temps. Rained overnight. Even a dusting of snow predicted at times.

Have things to catch up on! Happy April!

Anita, do catch up on the revealing re-look at statin "studies" (paid for by the drug companies to "prove" what they wanted") as well as the updated analysis of these studies. Some points coming out include: women with higher total cholesterol are less likely to get dementia; total cholesterol is basically meaningless- its HDL and triglyceride ratio that is important; triglycerides are driven by carbs/sugar; LDL, as it usually says on the results you get, are a calculation, what is important is to know LDL particle size- whether big and fluffy or not; unless one had had a diagnosed heart attack/MI, statins are useless as they don't reduce risk ESP in women; statins have horrendous side effects; red yeast rice is a precursor, so acts as a statin, so can produce same side effects as statins; statins make billions for drug companies, which led to them paying the FDA to lower the threshold for telling Drs to RX them; drug companies provide over 40% of the FDA budget; a big percentage of patients admitted with a first time Heart attack/ MI, actually have a low cholesterol! Like the Ancil Keys cherry picked data that got us on the eat 13 slices of bread and whole grains per day train, statins are a scam perpetuated by drug companies based on their profit margin. Like Karen, I follow and support Dr Ken Berry because each video has supporting studies attached, plus I follow many others: Ivor Cummins, Dr Eric Westman, Dr Steven Phinney, Dom D'Agostino, Dr Robert Cywes, Dave Feldmen , David Diamond,dr Sten Ekberg, and many others who are taking a stand against the false narrative we have been fed by drug companies . If you truly want to check your risk, have a CAC scan- which measures coronary artery calcium deposits. A Drs job should be to help us get well and get off medication! The top things to move towards better health are stop consuming seed oils ( corn, soy, safflower, vegetable) and stop consuming sugar; stop consuming grains .
Make sure you understand what "Keto" actually is: a low carbohydrate diet, consisting of meat, fish, poultry plus vegetables which grow above ground and a few low carb berries as your fruit. Don't be fooled by the word Keto on labels. Anyone can call anything Keto! Fats are important for satiety and health, but not artificially created poly unsaturated seed oils! Saturated fat is not the enemy! There are essential amino acids ( proteins), which the human body can not produce and there are essential fatty acids which the human body can not produce. There are NO essential caribs ! In absence of carbs, salt is not the enemy! Sugar is the enemy! there are no essential fibers despite what the Metamucil ads say!
For Barbara: Corn is NOT a vegetable, it's a grain. Peas are not a vegetable, they are legumes. Potatoes, no matter the color or method of preparation are sugar bombs.
Inflammation is the cause of heart disease. Carbohydrates are the cause of inflammation, obesity, type2 diabetes. All 3; inflammation, obesity, type 2 diabetes are reversible.
Don't believe the lies that have been around since we were kids. Do your own study of the truth not what is promoted by drug companies and big AG for their self interest! Want a good read? Read Dr Ken Berrys Lies My Doctor Told me! He explains why lies are perpetuated in the medical world.

WOW Velda!
You hit the nail on the head!!,
Bravo!
Everything you said is true! The cholesterol scam is so big. Who do we think keeps lowering the numbers so more and more people need statins” ??? It’s big pharma.

I had some bloodwork done at my primary care dr. But this time I took charge. I had a list for him to check my vitamin levels, such as Vitamin D. He actually was bewildered but ordered it done. I only go to him for bloodwork, then do my own homework. He started talking statins again and I had to tell him that I am not taking them under any circumstances. All he did was regurgitate the statin narrative. It’s so sad when the doctors are only willing to write prescriptions.

Most people are scared when they hear that narrative, but we have to take charge of our health. It’s the sad state of affairs today.

I'm ready for bed!! The dogs have been crazy naughty today. Pippa has shredded 4 piddle pads, washed her feet in the water bowl and turned over the water in her pen. Emma and Toby found a baby rabbit and refused to come when called, a first for Emma. She ate one all except for a little fur. I'm betting it comes up in the middle of the night. I've had dogs catch rabbits and squirrels before but they always proudly bring them to me.
I haven't had the greatest day either, found out how much we owe the 'tax man' and received a couple of insurance bills!! I had a glass of Guinness with dinner and as anyone who has been to Ireland knows from seeing all the billboards proclaiming that Guinness is good for you.
Anita, I'm glad you and your BFF got all the world's problems solved and had a good time! I would also really be upset to be without a phone for so long.

Bj, daughter said having Luca was like living with a toddler again. She hasn’t been bragging how well he is doing in “good dog class” so that isn’t a good sign. Maybe you should give the dogs a couple of sips of your drink. Lol

P.S. just texted daughter and ask if Luca had been kicked out of school. She laughed and said no but he is called “crazy little puppy”. She isn’t sure it is helping but she will finish last two classes.

Got some errands done today and finally hit the grocery store. Didnt need much but laundry soap and Dawn was on my list. And of course some groceries. I did get out of there for under $100 but not by much. Tonight I am going to fix my Fitbit band so I can wear it again. Tomorrow is Income Tax day for me. About time I tackled that chore, time is a wasting LOL

BJ hope tomorrow is a better "Dog Day" for you LOL Anita that is terrible that you cannot get anything answered about your phone. I dont use mine that much but I could never be without it, that is for sure. Especially since I dont have a landline. At least you enjoyed your visit with your friend. We had rain today and windy off and on and now they tell us we will be 82-85 on Thursday then plummet back down to the 60's, weird weather. Crater Lake and Diamond lake are getting hammered with snow today....good sign but not with the warm day coming. Oh well, out of my control.

I will be ready pretty soon to start planting, Need to go get some more potting soil and was hoping someone would have it on sale soon.

went to the store tried to do it before the weather turned didn't make it but it was just rain at that moment later it turned into snow/slush really really wet snow... was so hoping my niece took the garbage can down to the street... she didn't but I got it down in flip flops (was so hoping the cement was warm enough it didn't stick it was sticking bad enough I couldn't push the garbage can down had to pull it got back without freezing my feet but not one of my stellar moments...
I did look up the zone still says 4 but it maybe some of the higher levels are a bit lower... so called granddaughter and asked if I could put roses in her yard she is going to talk to my grandson... we will see still thinking that putting straw around it would help at least some...
I made tator tot casserole for supper actually did it from scratch didn't use cream soup in it .... I thought it tasted pretty good... my dd wouldn't like it though as it has fungi in it...
last night I was sitting on the bed saying my evening prayer when I heard something couldn't figure it out finally had to look up cause it sounded like a big rat.... there was mom opening up the other bed room door I asked what she was doing she was looking for the vase that we emptied up (flowers that we brought home from the funeral) guess she couldn't sleep and got to wondering where that vase was put... I told her in the garage on the freezer as there was no space in the house... some days!!! hmmm something new on the frame need to see what it is... and who sent it
the winds are suppose to be really high so it's feeling colder than normal
I can't imagine what is going on with your phone Anita someone needs to find it and quickly even if we don't use them a lot we need them for safety
good luck in your search Anne if Larry was alive I'd have him draw you one :)
you all have a great night..
